I think the fact that Conan being unable to be made into a movie in the 60s goes to show how far REH was ahead of his own time.

First time I've heard of this abandoned movie ! Oliver Stone Conan movie that is. I wonder if John Walsh would be interested in doing a 'Dragonslayer : The Story of the Making Of The Movie' book, it's not as highly regarded as the others he's done but it is interesting and got a tonne of hype in the UK back in 1981 I remember (I'm old !).

When I saw his name, I thought it was the John Walsh from America's most wanted... I was like, "Wow, he likes Conan too"? 😅
I will check out the book for sure; even though the Original movie (for me), had a 0.09% influence on why I love Conan. 1st was the books, 2nd was SSOC... the small percentage I give was more my excitement and anticipation of going to see any movie about my favorite person!
This guest, John, has quite a lot of history with all he's done (regarding writing books), and all over such a short period of time. I now feel like I know the summary of his whole life. 😉
Reading the other comments, I understand some of them; but I know you can't have Zub on every poscast LOL. For me, I just appreciate what your company is doing, and that you are also taking the time to upload these videos. 🤩 I would love to have you talk to some of the artists in the current books if you get a chance. Or, other people that work there on the comics, and how they feel about having Conan a part of their lives work.
Thanks for keeping the interview flowing with your questions, I appreciate it! I know I have a tendency to ramble on about one subject for hours too unless someone re-directs me. 🤣🤣
Sooo looking forward to more videos, I hope you continue to do them at least weekly! I really think you should have a donate button. I know you mentioned before that you get paid by the company already, but you could use the donate button to sponsor and pay for a contest in the future, where a fan of the Titan comics could fly there for a tour or something. That would be fantastic!
On a side note; I now have Howard Days in Texas on my calendar for 2025. Very excited about that!
Much love for your channel always, stay Cimmerian! *~ Son of Crom*
PS - "The Thing" is one of the best movies in that genre of all time!

Creepy, creepy thing to watch is the television adaptation of Robert E. Howard's Pigeons from Hell. It was done on Thriller or one of the other Twilight Zone knockoffs. Stephen King talks about how good it is in Danse Macabre. One of Howard's best stories and a really good old black and white television adaptation.

I WISH a good artist could do a graphic novel of Oliver Stone's Conan script.

A Harryhausen "Conan" movie sounds good but probably would have been "Jason and the Argonauts"

I love Oliver Stone, but I don't want to see robots in the Conan universe. As interesting as his script sounds I think we dodged a bullet on that one.
Anyway for those that want orc armies and robot men, there is He-Man and the Masters of the Universe for that.😊

    Very interesting vid, much oblige.
No og characters in Conan the Destroyer? Wut? Queen Taramis was an og character written by Robert. E. Howard. But in my mind in the movie, the evil queen is actually Salome, not Taramis.

The 1982 film is a good film but it's not a Howard story.

It's a great movie but definitely a John Milius story.

I actually don’t think Arnold was that great as Conan. It was still good but not quite right.

Would George Lucas be any good anymore at directing a Flash Gordon film? I know he was inspired by it I think his name would add weight. does George Lucas even direct anymore or is he even any good at it anymore? I'm not keen on current directors capabilities or who would be best just remember him mentioning Flash inspiration and his star wars movies being the only good ones. I would like to see a Flash Gordon movie with the style of these Retro Panavision 50's etc. youtube vids they have been having on here BUT ONLY IF DONE PROPERLY AS THE ORIGINAL WAS PRECISELY ONLY BETTER! No exceptions don't bother making it if you are not going to do it correct.
