    I remember the day I bought the album “The Last Waltz” and listening to it was as close as I have been to a having a religious experience. I was seriously down in the dumps in six months my Mother had died of cancer (Fuck Cancer) on of my best friend growing up daughter had been killed in a car crash and my favorite Aunt and my Mother’s best friend was killed by a drunk driver who ran a stop light and t-boned her car. I bought the album, a bottle of 101 proof Wild Turkey, and rolled myself the 2 gram joint of Humbolt county’s finest and ate bunch of mushrooms. Anyway I listened to that album over and over again until I had drank and smoked everything that there was to drink smoke or eat in my house and when I woke up from finally passing out I didn’t have a hangover and the weight on my soul seemed to have been lifted like the rising of the sun on Easter Sunday morning.

    There's a lot going on in this rendition, but Levon's voice (a blend of country, blue grass, and rock-a-billy) stands out. His and Rick Danko's voices have a special blend, too. I like it played slightly slower, but each performance is unique.

    Robbie is “singing” in a way-so that it looks like he’s _belting_ out those notes … While also making it so his voice can barely be heard.
    Listen to the way he says “Put the load right on me”.
    Don’t get me wrong, he was a great musician; But, the rest of The Band wasn’t lying about the kind of person he was.

    • @CipherSerpico
      @CipherSerpico 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JGK-mt7io No no no. His mic had to be on, so that _he_ could be the one to talk between songs, and introduce the next song.
      In all honesty though, I made that comment because of how many people I’ve heard-referencing this one performance, as proof that he didn’t sing into a dead mic during shows, despite what The Band said.
      I think it’s pretty obvious that he wasn’t actually singing during their shows, and that he just wanted it to look like he was singing, because it gave him more attention.

    • @andrewkemp1882

      @@andrewkemp1882 Do you understand how Music or Singing works?
      LISTEN to what he is “Singing”.
      What he is “Singing”-is not in key.
      What he is “Singing” is not melodic-in any way.
      Not one of those “notes” that he “Singing”-is in harmony with the rest of the Music.
      He is grunting the words in the lyrics-and making it look like he’s harmonizing with the rest of the Band.
      He is not actually _Singing._
