    I don't know enough social media-ing to know if you'll ever see this (or to find any other way to contact you), but what size (OD x Height) does the outer can need to be in order to fit inside the furnace? I'm a TIG welder in a stainless steel pipe shop, I may be able to dig up some scraps and knock together a stainless version for you, I don't know how well a 300-series (all I regularly have access to at work) will handle that kind of heat though.

    • @jasonudall8614
      @jasonudall8614 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    • @arthurhulcher1043
      @arthurhulcher1043 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Technically yes, but most reactions favor one side. That’s why you don’t see gasoline spontaneously form where there’s CO2 and water

    • @bradywells1293
      @bradywells1293 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is technically correct (the best kind). Most reactions that are considered 'irreversible' really just mean that it doesn't go in one direction to any significant amount that matters. It's understood that yes, there is SOME reverse reaction occurring at a rate orders of magnitude difference, but practically it doesn't matter and really shouldn't even be considered.

    • @realedna
      @realedna 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      An irreversible process is one, where entropy is produced and high energy (concentrated) states are lost due to dispersion.
      So metathesis reactions, where atoms (for the most part) just switch places are usually reversible, but might be driven by an irreversible process,
      because you cannot conserve all high energy states in the end while you shift some equilibrium to the point you want.
      So the process that drives this reaction is the irreversible part, while the thermodynamic equilibrium between the reagents and products is the reversible part.
