John Mayer has achieved what so few musicians achieve in their lifetimes...originality. He is one of a kind. His indiscretions as a young man turned some people off but he achieved fame and fortune very quickly, too quickly, but for good reason. I am 69 years old, been classically trained, and been playing guitar and other instruments since I was 7 years old and can tell you John is a brilliant musician. He is 43 now. The immature boy is long gone. What you see now is the man who has learned a lot about life including recovering from granuloma of the vocal cords which no doubt scared the living shit out of him. No less than Eric Clapton called John a brilliant guitarist. Not a bad endorsement. All the haters can go phuck themselves.
Agree with you..... he’s the best out there in my opinion, his songwriting skills are lit even he can compose any type of song although he’s a pure blues guy ! I respect him a lot !
John said on an interview somewhere- I think it was an interview he did at Oxford U- You have to listen to a song twice..." referring to AR people that judge songs too quickly, basing on song just being a hit; hence- disposable. He also used it in reference to when he turned in Continuu,' which was rejected at first. then he told them: Listen to it again..." And it became his top selling album ever...? So with this song I did that..and guess what? the SONG IS LEGENDARY.
If you don't like, don't click, it's simple. Take your negativity somewhere else. Great performance. Loved Robbie since back when he played with Macca. John is simply master level on the guitar, and writes great songs and sings them with passion. I'll be back here for sure.
I don't get why you people have the need to rag on John Mayer for his style, he's a talented young man with his own style of singing that makes his own material. you can't say that about 99% of artists these days. If you think you could perform this song he wrote better than him, please provide us the link in this comments section. Dicks.
Dude this song is in c#m key, shich very low for everyones voice ,that makes ot really hard to sing , i have tried and failed many times, but its beauty lies only c#m key ,so you really cant transpose,ps:i love john
John Ferris hi. In no way am I suggesting my 17 year old grandson has done this better than John but I would love to know what you think of his efforts. By the way my husband is Jeff Ferris. We aren’t related are we lol 😜th-cam.com/video/iuwbmwASfOw/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You should check out this song co-written by Tom Bertram/ Tim Bradshaw - John Mayer called Mr Lucky if you are a fan of John! th-cam.com/video/lWnQhccJA7Y/w-d-xo.html You're welcome 😍

Yeah there are so many. I'd say after the "Where the light is" version, this comes close to being one of his best performances. Its one of my favorites. I just wish there was a HD version. th-cam.com/video/M6b4QfmTL4c/w-d-xo.html
Um, he walked on stage with DMB in 2007 with them before playing #41 and said, "I would be nothing without Dave Matthews Band!" They are at least respectful acquaintances. What the hell are you talking about? lol

Been listening to this song for 8 years now and still not tired of it..
Perfect, and this acoustic version is just awesome
10 and counting for me!
Kinda mind blown at him handing the solo over to Rob. First time I've seen him do that. It's cool to see him share the spotlight like that
If there's anyone that john mayer respects its Robby Mcintosh
Robbie Mcintosh's solo was fire
He is his music and it is him. Playing music in the key of emotion.

One of the best versions ❤
Can't believe this has only 48k views!
at least it has 20 million in "live in LA"

Litteraly nobody here said anything bad about John or the performance.
@@brendahawkins3965 just watched your grandson's cover of the song. He's really really good
Ayush Bir Tuladhar thank you so much. And you subscribed that’s brilliant 😘
Ooooo fresh strings...
Goosebumps 😍😍
Such a beautiful performance. I really miss them performing together. Anybody know where Rob is these days?
He has a TH-cam channel and last video uploaded was 2 months back. I guess he's enjoying his days resting and spending time with family.
I’m not sure why Waiting on the World to Change was the single. This song is so much better and and I think would would have been more popular.
Because it would be more commercially successful, as it is more pop than rock, which in 2005-2012 was what made money and sold records.
For real though This song goes super hard. He’s a bad ass guitar player. If you can pull this song off it’s a guaranteed panty dropper
I think Slow Dancing has become even more popular than WOTWTC, haha
Yoooo Robbie Macintosh tho
3:00!💛💚💙💜🧡❤️

It's not a silly little moment
It's not the storm before the calm
This is the deep and dyin' breath of
This love we've been workin' on
Can't seem to hold you like I want to
So I can feel you in my arms
Nobody's gonna come and save you
We pulled too many false alarms
We're goin' down
And you can see it too
We're goin' down
And you know that we're doomed
My dear
We're slow dancing in a burnin' room
I was the one you always dreamed of
You were the one I tried to draw
How dare you say it's nothing to me
Baby, you're the only light I ever saw
I'll make the most of all the sadness
You'll be a bitch because you can
You try to hit me, just hurt me
So you leave me feeling dirty
'Cause you can't understand
We're goin' down
And you can see it too
We're goin' down
And you know that we're doomed
My dear
We're slow dancing in a burnin' room
Go cry about it, why don't you
Go cry about it, why don't you
Go cry about it, why don't you
My dear, we're slow dancin' in a burnin' room
Burnin' room, burnin' room
Don't you think we outta know by now?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?
Don't you think we outta know by now?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?
Don't you think we outta know by now?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?

I love how much like Dave Matthews he is while being annoyed with anyone who says that. It's uncanny
Um, he walked on stage with DMB in 2007 with them before playing #41 and said, "I would be nothing without Dave Matthews Band!" They are at least respectful acquaintances. What the hell are you talking about? lol
Chords? I need a better guitarist to look at this shit and tell me lol
