"Bond, James Bond."
Here is a tribute to one of my favourite actors. When he arrived to the Bond franchise, I was concerned because James Bond is one of my favourite movie / book characters. He has been portrayed extremely well before. When I saw Casino Royale for the first time it blew me away. Craig's Bond movies haven't always stuck the landing but when one does, it is truly breathtaking.

Craig humanised bond. The best incarnation we have. Gonna miss his portrayal.

Dalton, Lazenby, and Moore humanized him, Craig is just melodramatically late to the party.
He was fantastic, I’m really going to miss him. He is my favourite bond and I’ve been watching bond movies for 30 years. Daniel Craig has been the absolute best.

Having read all the books written by Ian Fleming, I can say with certainty that Daniel Craig best played the part of Bond. Bond was blunt and Craig plays the part as if he is indeed...BLUNT!
Remember M called him a "Blunt Instrument?"

@@tractor7776 Yes I have and in my humble view, while he did portray Bond as this "one drink and one kill from being burned out", Daniel Craig plays the part better; almost as if he actually feels this way.

The episode James Bond don’t too hard making the film can’t be connect married lastime polygamy. Craig added new dimension to the existing attributes of 007. We can identify him more as a part of our world. At least we can tell that he is no superhero but someone like us.

@@QKvox I watched most of the Bond movies. With each new actor, the portrayal of Bond’s character brought out a new facet. Dalton didn’t leave much of a mark. Till the appearance of Brosnan, we had a little bit comedy thrown around here and there. With Craig’s appearance, the whole focus was on a sanguine accomplishment. In all his movies he displayed this. With ‘no time to die’ the demise of Craig’s Bond, may lead to a paucity of definitive replacement. To replace him, we may need a vicious and more aggressive anti-hero, who will be needed to overshadow Craig’s
characterisation. Hope it happens.
Hero or anti hero they cannot die in public mind. Actor dies, the character lives.
Can you imagine the shoes the next bond has to fill? I mean Craig did a so good job that i think he was born for the Bond Movies. Will miss him in this role!
I am worried in the PUSH to make Bond more "politically correct" and ethnic, they will grab ANY ethnic actor/actress to portray Bond. The producers made this mistake when they gave the part to the actor George Lazenby; a mistake they now admit almost sunk the 007 series!

@@JR-js9bk No, LISTEN to what I said.....without "prejudice". The next person who plays Bond cannot be just ANY actor who fits the current "political correctness/ethnic flavor of the day". It will have to be an actor that can "carry" the Bond franchise the way Craig did. That person will have to have some "acting chops" and if they ( the producers ) don't pick the correct person, the franchise will wind up being like it was when Lazenby played the role.

I just realized that when Craig was casted for Bond, in the first movie he played they restarted the timeline completely.
Always been a fan of Bond but after watching CASINO ROYAL I was a whole air conditioner. Hands down. What a time to be alive Daniel is the best bond ever. He will surely be missed.

The only actor who ever played that role convincingly and didn't turn it into camp. Will be a very hard act to follow. He convincingly portrayed the spiritual angst involved in the heart of the true believer in that enterprise.
That's really fuckin cool. That is literally a trailer for the entire series through Spectre. I love that the Craig movies have more of an overlap and continuation, well basically just one long story and this captures this Bond's struggle between his duty and the love & pain he experiences along the way. Almost as if he's trying to stay as human as possible but without it interfering with his job. That's why I like the Craig movies so much because he seems like the most human of all of the Bonds. Sure there are wild things he does, but this Bond gets shot, stabbed, poisoned and you can see the toll it takes on him mentally and emotionally and you can almost feel the heartache he feels but when it comes time to go to work the human part of Bond disappears into his subconscious. You can see he doesn't want to continue his life the way it is, but he has debts to settle and it keeps him driving forward. Once you find out what happened to Vesper (spelling?) he says something about not loving her and he didn't kill the guy that deserved it for her death and Bond was back on the clock again. This video truly captures that feel. Well done for real. Very nice piece of work.

Craig's voice in his answer to the question "how old were they..." Haunting. Yes, extremely hard shoes to get into after Daniel Craig. He is an excellent actor.

The best of the Daniel Craig Bond films, "Skyfall." Still love the tongue-in-cheek "Goldfinger." Connery and Craig are my favorites.
I loved how Craig made the character's physical and emotional pain apparent. His version of Bond lived on pain medication.

i am 55 years old, my first bond was Roger Moore. since then,i followed all the movies. Daniel is my favourite. Will be difficult for the next Bond, I think. People will have expectations...we will see...

5 Bond films over 15 years is the perfect arc to the character showing his start and demise. This period will be difficult, if not impossible, to beat, ever. I understand Aaron Taylor-Johnson is being cast as the next James Bond. He has huge shoes to fill. Instead of a story arc as with Craig, they ought to fill in the gaps with several films of “smaller” assignments (not every assignment must save the world), like 3-5 assignments per film and show us a bit more everyday life, thereby continuing to humanize the character.

I second that emotion. Him saying goodbye to M just doesn't get easier no matter how many times you see it. So glad the writers didn't take the easy way out and let M and 007 hook up.
I forgot how young Craig looked in Casino Royale. But that sets up a huge continuity problem. Quantum Of Solace started where Casino Royale left off so he still would have been a young agent. Then in Skyfall they're pushing him to retire? Just how much time was supposed to take place between those movies?
He was fine till the time he chose retirement for himself after the incident on the train..that's where he lost the edge..they were not pushing him for retirement because he was old but because he was simply out of touch
Casino Royale was released in 2006, Quantum of Solace in 2008, and Skyfall in 2012. In-universe QoS is supposed to take place immediately after CR, so let's call it a 2006 story as well. That's 6 years between Bond's promotion to a 00 agent, and him reconsidering his life choices. Considering that 00s in general have very short life expectancies, and Bond in particular is a half-functioning alcoholic and a drug abuser, it's not too far fetched that after 6 years he has started to feel too old for this shit.
Of course, I'm assuming here that Casino Royale and Skyfall took place at least about the time they were filmed/released - mid 00's and the early 10's. The technology, fashion and the aging of the cast indicates so. Perhaps you can squueze a few more years in there, but not many.
@@roygaming8929 We don't really know how he was doing. Physically he seemed fine before taking his time to enjoy death, but the test results imply he was mentally messed up, long-term.
Yes, when Daniel Craig was selected for 007, I was so bummed. No way will he make a good Bond, boy was I wrong he has been the best!!! I will miss him. Hope he makes other great movies.

I love all the Bond movies. My favorite scene is all of the movies is him and Vesper in the shower...him consoling her. That is the most beautiful, heartfelt and probably realistic scene in all the movies.
