    I literally just did a "rain" shoot like 2 days before this video came out Mark. But my rain was man-made. We had no rain that day so I used my hose and a sprayer nozzle. Worked alright!

    I tried this last week using sunlight streaming thru the active rain in South Florida except Cami wasnt there. Shots came out cool but my shutter speed was slow so the drops looked like little laser beams dropping fron the sky. Will definitely do this too.

    • @MarkWallaceVideos
      @MarkWallaceVideos 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The benefit of using flash is that the short flash duration freezes the rain. Flash freezes motion much better than a fast shutter.

    Really good video, Mark! I want to try this. Something (maybe too) obvious occurred to me. Why not put the rain kicker light under a small shoot-through umbrella? 😆

    • @MarkWallaceVideos
      @MarkWallaceVideos 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good idea! Get out there and try it, then let us know how it works out. Next time it rains I'll try it myself. :)

    Love the tutorial Mark. I'm curious on the settings you applied on the rear flash. One question though, do you use the zoom setting in this set up or set it on the widest setting? Thanks so much.

    • @MarkWallaceVideos
      @MarkWallaceVideos 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3:07 in the video. Manual mode, 1/2 power. That's all. No zoom adjustments on the flash. I think the default is somewhere around 35mm zoom. Set it and forget it. :)

    Love this! Just wondering how you were able to focus in the dark?

    • @rnursemd
      @rnursemd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With that flash trigger on the R5, the view brightness would be adjusted if he had exposure simulation turned on allowing him to see to focus. That and if he used face/eye detection, focusing would be a snap.

    Did you sell the Leica in the end Mark

    • @MarkWallaceVideos
      @MarkWallaceVideos 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blasphemy!!! Not at all. The Leica is perfect for travel, landscape, photojournalism, and non-flash photography. But the M system isn't great for speedlights or studio strobes. And, most people aren't shooting with Leica cameras, so I got the Canon to relate to a wider audience. But I'll never give up my M!

    I blew up a Speedlight first week of having it shooting in the rain (Profoto a1) it was covered in a rain cover wrapped around. Not sure if it got too hot or was just faulty didn’t have make a loud bang though I thought someone shot at me lol

    I have a pregnancy shoot which is coming up on saturday, I had to postpone 2 times because rain in Uk all the time 😜 but she really want to shoot outside, so may we will give it a try in the rain 😆 My question is:is the R5 weather proof, I mean can you shoot in a light rain or you had to stay under umbrella?

    • @MarkWallaceVideos
      @MarkWallaceVideos 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can handle light rain with no issues, as long as you have a weather-sealed lens as well.

    What about the risk of electric shock when using flash in the rain? ⚡️
    The flashes 'just' use batteries, but they contain a capacitor that collects high voltage.

    In this video, the text of the subtitles is in Portuguese.When you turn on the translation, nothing is clear. Just a bunch of incomprehensible phrases. If possible, please fix it.
