I feel like this show is saying "hey nerds, Star Wars is a show for kids, including your own inner child. Find that place within yourself, enjoy what we're doing, or just fuck off already."
Thank you for recognizing KB has been a large part of them getting this far. Kid has a good ability to just cut through the unnecessary and figure out a plan. Zero survival instincts. But very capable. Also, credit to kid playing her. Especially in shots like that statue getting hit and not flinching with the others.
At Achronn is similar enough that Kh'ymm would make the mistake of mixing them up, explaining the coordinate mistake. judging by how long the suburbian buildings have been abandoned, I believe the "Great Work" or experiment that was the original plan failed long ago, so this tribal war between the Troiks and that other clan is no part of the experiment. I am with Nerdy here. They might be few, but enough of a group who knows about this planet that offworld trade is a thing. Kh'ymm did say that the myth of the Jewels of the Republic has been long forgotten, so the people that is doing trade with At Achronn might not have any idea of the value some put on the information in the "Supervisors Tower" the coordinates to the other 8 planets (Well 7, Since At Attins was lost)
Oh Nerdy and Clarus, if only you had noticed that the cloaking satellites around At Achrann had long ago stopped working... The planet was bound to pop up on scans of ships passing within range. And one can imagine that those that stumbled upon At Achrann, didn't want its existence to become widely known.
Interesting theory about what those satellites are, but how come you express it in such a way that you seem like you 100% know that that is what it is? nothing so far has told us that there would be any type of active cloaking going on, and Kh'ymm found this place based on the parameters of some old symbols and the Nebulous cloud.
@@davidbergfors6820 Well obviously I can't be sure yet. But it is forbidden to leave the planet and they could, so it's not a force field grid. They might be destroyer satellites, but something is still hiding At Attin and not At Achrann, right? I don't see how the green gas could behave like a cloak for scanners. Kh'ymms map is old and must have been drawn by someone with knowledge of those planets. It is weird she sent the Crew to At Achrann, because she knew by the cloud cover which one was At Attin, implying that it's the only one of the nine on the map that ever had such a cover. Doesn't look like she made a mistake, and I assume the Crew just stuck the memory stick into the navigation system.
Edit: The experiment was run in the time of the OLD Republic, not the NEW Republic. The cook in episode 2 said, "Where did you get an Old Republic credit in mint condition?". The experiment most likely ended 1000 years ago.
no. in the era of the New Republic, the time after the empire, the Galactic republic of the clone wars and before is what is referred to as the Old republic. The Jewels of the Republic as the AT-whatever planets are called, is at most 600 years old, from the golden time of the Republic that publication calls "High republic" if you want confirmation, just look at a closeup of Wims credits, it bears the same 8 spoked symbol the republic wore during the Clone wars. I get many people who likes the Legends material are very eager in applying it into canon, but that is not what is happening here.
@@davidbergfors6820 We're talking about what a pirate said. In the post Empire days (that is, the New Republic), a pirate would call the immediate pre-Empire Republic the "Old Republic." A galactic historian might further delineate the Old Republic into specific eras such as the "High Republic," but a pirate would be unlikely to do so.
20:00 It really does have Christmas vibes. Not just in the, something that the whole family can watch. It also has the same tone as a family Christmas movie. The childlike wonder of believing in something that the other adults have forgotten. AKA Jude Law is basically escorting elves back to the North Pole.
Remember that the New Republic probably has nothing to do with it, so far everithing points to the pre war Republic or even the truly Old Republic set up these planets. SInce SM33 was there before I think smugglers and pirates might know about this planet, even though it does not appear on official star maps, so I think they deal with those.
Neel is the best and so cute. 🐘💙 Hayna is so damn extra, and I can't not love it! 😂👌 Our world could also use a lot of kindness! I absolutely love Jude Law too, he's so damn funny. "Y'know what? Just shoot me." was hilarious. Jod was so done. 🤷♂️🤣 KB being a great shot is fun and a little terrifying. I hope she'll get to shoot something later.
Any kindness our world receives is beaten out of the one offering it. but I agree, we do need more kindness. Shall we agree to be the change we wish to see, despite the reaction it will receive? great wording, Hayna is absolutely extra!
17:12 Clarus nailed it. It’s tonally consistent and the characters don’t do anything out of character stupid to further the plot. If they’re dumb, it is consistent with them being appropriately naive kids and not for contrived convenience. Also! The pacing is very consistently good for a show. The episode endings feel organically like chapter breaks
"I CAN'T say I remember no At-Attin" 💀 Well, what CAN ya say Smee? 🤔 10:06 guys, its Star wars. Energy weapons do not all look like Earthican Pew Pew Boomsticks. Pikes and other Spear/Staff weapons can just as easily be capable of energy projection, especially for the scavenged scrap the Troiks and Hattans arm themselves with. Seems to me like the Jewels of the Old Republic Planet names follow the Old Republic Prefix model, perhaps using "AT" (Archive/Treasure) in the same way as legacy worlds like Ord Mantell used "ORD" (Ordinance), a Military Logistics and Manufacturing hub. Remember the other 8 worlds were discovered and spoiled long ago, and only At-Attin slipped into Myth and Legend. The other "AT-" worlds fell long before the Rebellion, the Empire, The Clone Wars, even the Ruusaan Reformation. They are known and have scavenged and scrapped and traded since their fall with every era since.
I don't think there was much real combat going between the Troiks and the Hattans. First, the Hattans had real soldiers and weapons...an army of child soldiers would not really have lasted long against them in serious warfare. Second, the Hattans had merely stolen the Troiks' animals and the Troiks merely intended to steal their animals back "and burn the granaries." That doesn't sound like all out war, that sounds more like counting coup. Finally, if we take Jod's word for it, the Hattans seem happy enough to take a few credits to sell the animals to an outsider; the Troiks were happy enough to put essentially unarmed outsiders at point of their march (they didn't even give a gun to the most battle-capable kid). In both ways, neither group evidenced a convincing intent for a real fight. This planet is no longer hidden. It's visible to scans. The satellites we saw were nonoperational barrier-generators. At Attain's barrier totally hides them from scans. At Achron is just a failed jewel. It's initial failure might have been from internal causes that resulted in the failure of its barrier and then it's subsequent discovery by others in the galaxy. All of the other "jewels" except At Attin may have failed internally in some way that subsequently resulted in the disruption of their barriers and their ultimate discovery by the rest of the galaxy.
Lebron James?!? And I have always been saying that people from Ohio are cool (I was born in Ohio). But Lebron is going down, for his connection to Diddy. He's already on the run, and just dropped suddenly out of his past few games. Similar to Kevin Heart, who suddenly closed all of his restaurants. Expect more. Interesting that you mentioned Lebron (maybe you too have been following this).
I feel like the episode need to be a little long, there was alot of untapped potential. Probably my least favorite of the series so far. Still some great moments and alot of fun
Neel is the star. Skeleton Crew is about how Neel's heart of gold touches the lives of those he comes across during his adventure. X^)

That girl was acting her like her life depended on it, to a blue elephant man, only to do a backflip while exiting. Talk about RANGE
I think an overlooked moment is the Fern and Wym moment and of course Fern doesn’t handle it well, but I think it’s the start of their friendship……

KB is like Robocop ...she has grid aiming so kind of hard for her to miss
If the cannon is a Chekhov's gun, they are going to use the one on At Attin to shoot the Supervisor’s tower.
Fun fact about Akron and LeBron, they renamed Main St "King James" street after he led the Cleveland Cavs to their only championship.

I think the SM33's old captain is the Supervisor on At Attin,Neel and Hayna scenes we're the best parts of this episode :)

If the supervisor on At Attin is the captain that destroyed the coordinates and killed his crew, this guy is ruthless. The parents are in danger.
considering the motivations of a pirate captain, I find it hard to believe they would spend any amount of time being a supervisor on a utopian world.

The directing comments were spot on. I don't know if you saw but the Daniels from Everything Everywhere All at Once directed this episode!

Children being treated as adults out of necessity raises some very uncomfortable questions.
I don’t think Star Wars is trying to go there, but I’m sure we all thought that at first.

We shall call the little French girl Parkour Posey.
Fun fact, the little french girl is from Kansas city
You really have to rewatch episode 3. The reference to what happened to the other great works was mentioned.
I thinik the Supervisor on At Attin is the captain who destroyed the coordiates.
At-Catin. It’s a furry planet full of network administrators.
Neel MVP!
They are good at money.
How did they finance the final order in ROS? Right under the new republic’s nose?
