We purposely looked for an older model class C which was well taken care of rather than buying a newer one. We found a 98 which looks like it just came off the showroom, but was used every year and has only 46k on an "old school" 7.4l Chevy 454 which was well cared for. All I did was have the tranny and diff serviced, changed the oil and went camping. The Onan generator only has 112 hrs on it and the previous owner plumbed a separate tank to it so we can fill it with premium to run the genset and makes it easier to winterize!
love this! we have had our 17 year old kz for 10 years, it was a "handyman special" when we bought it CHEAP! it had a water leak in the roof of the slideout and half of the floor in the 13 ft long slideout was rotten. i fixed it and it'd been great since then. although now the rear placed bathroom subfloor is rotten due to plumbing leaks over the years. so a major bathroom reno is planned for this winter, including replacing all of the water lines and fittings with pex a or b, i can do either. tub will be replaced with a corner shower etc etc, doesn't scare me at all! i've fixed or upgraded many of the systems in the trailer over the years, learned a helluva lot of stuff imho, if you want a good rv experience, you really have to be a diy type otherwise the rv will be sitting on a dealer lot for months at a time and i would never buy a new one
I have been RV'ing for eight years and have learned A WHOLE LOT about RV's, the industry and issues that can arise while owning an RV. Notwithstanding, I would not buy and RV today, without having it inspected by and independent contractor hired by me. However, I understand that not everyone can afford to hire an inspector and this is where Jacob comes in. IMO (I do not know Jacob) if you can't hire an inspector then his videos, APP and consultation are invaluable for us. I would consult him before buying an RV so I do not waste my time looking at problematic brands, once he has guided me I would go shopping with the APP so that I know exactly what to look for and save myself a whole lot of headaches and money. It is by far the best value you can get for the money.
Thanks for watching and commenting! My goal with these videos is to put pressure on the RV industry to improve. So grateful it has been helpful to you!
So thankful I found your channel and valuable insight, knowledge, and REAL talk approach. I recently purchased an RV, and the guys were stunned by my knowledge of how to evaluate the mechanical systems. I told them about your awesome teaching channel/app. 😊
I own a 1995 Thor Citation 30ft TT with the polar pak. There's absolutely no way I'd trade it in for a new TT. Everything works as it should. Through frame slide, plumbing doesn't leak. Great for freezing weather. Just sayin 😊
I share your thoughts on the accuslide system however the schwintek system is horrible on overweight/oversize slide outs. Stay away from ANY system that has the entire side of a camper slide out particularly schwintek. IMO the RV’s don’t have the structural strength for full length slide out, over time they settle, warp, diamond, just plain move in different directions and eventually bind up. Also too much “tech” is put into rvs making them a constant source of aggravation, your on vacation, camping, keep it simple. A place away from home, but, not a home away from home.
I’m glad I found his channel, just wish it would have been 1 1/2 years after buying one. I may not have even bought one, especially a new one. I don’t like buying used stuff today, because of so many unscrupulous people out there. That being said, with Jacobs course, I probably would have been much better off getting a well kept used one, at least I would have saved a bundle, lol.
Thanks for the request! I don’t have a review of that RV, but here is a different review video from that brand - studio.th-cam.com/users/videoZKjeeVj5Ahw/edit
There are currently 5 grades of that RV brand in my database from myself and other undercover shoppers. If you want to view the database and learn to assess the quality of any RV like I do in my reviews, you can take my RV shopping course and use my app to grade it yourself - undercoverrvshopper.com/rv-shopping-course/
I also offer consulting where I get on a call with you and we can talk through your budget, camping goals and I can review any RV listings you’re considering - undercoverrvshopper.com/book-a-consultation/
@@undercoverrvtech we are on our second rv in 13 years. Believe it or not I have a 8 year old Grand Design, bought new and had basically zero issues with. No water leaks ever, all factory appliances still work…really been a great unit. Kinda makes it hard to trade in.
Appreciate your videos. Are there two models of the BAL cable system, with one being better than the other? I was looking at an Alliance Paradigm, but hesitated. Not sure why Alliance changed to the cable system, but wish they would change back!!!

Love our rv we have now but debating on upgrading our roof to something that’s more trouble free.
Good points. TY

We’re going on 4 years with ours and not upgrading any time soon.
What are your thoughts on the 2024 Entegra Esteem 29V class C motorhomes?

The gray tank stinks. What to use to clean and or control gray tank?
