lyrics written by Mukhtar al taneer and rhythm composed by mohammed flayfel, the patriotic song is considered one of the first syrian anthems to ever exist.

The kingdom was proclaimed on March the 8th, 1920. However, the kingdom only lasted 4 months, and wasn't at all recognized by France nor the British, and imposed their own systems of "mandates' (colonial governments), claiming the Arabs werent ready yet for self-governance. The establish of such a kingdom could have marked a marriage between Islam and Constitutional/Liberal Democracy. However, by the late 1930s, a more intolerant form of Islam and autocratic Arab nationalism came to prevail. Thanks France and Britain, you 2 always seem to ruin a region for the irreversible future.
If you’ve learned just a little bit of history you’d of probably known that the borders for the kingdom of Syria were self-drawn after liberation from the ottomans. The sykes-picot agreement that was meant to draw the borders of and divide the region weren’t yet implemented.
The Kingdom of Syria was established after the Arab Revolt before the the Battle of Maysalun in which the French took over the region and diveded ith with the british
