it’s not so easy to fight back for women. there are different responses (fight, flight, freeze and fawn). often our response is to freeze or fawn because the man usually is much bigger and stronger than us, so we try to appease him, so he doesn’t lash out. also like you said he might’ve been a bigshot producer, and she was a teenager when she entered the industry. it’s sad that this is often the way women grow up in the world
if you're listening to the full studio album i recommend listening to it and then listening to the Royal Albert Hall versions too because the way she switches the songs up is INCREDIBLE!! Especially with Oscar Winning Tears, the Royal Albert Hall version moves me every time but even the original is so bloody good!!

I sometimes get annoyed by that stat because it's false in its construction. It only lists documented assault, yet for ever 100 reports to police only 1 is recorded, and on,y 0.1 prosecuted. I don't know a single woman in my whole life who hasn't been assaulted in some capacity. It breaks my heart knowing if I have a daughter I cannot protect her.
