One of my favorite race trips was out to Eldora to watch Kevin win the Historical Big One. I’m from PA and love the Posse!! As fans we visited him in the pits prior to the race, and he was kind, caring, and attentive to us as fans. He always made you feel welcomed. When he took that lead we cheered our hearts out for Kevin! And when he won, Central Pennsylvania could hear us cheer his victory from Eldora! His family is nothing but class and his mother does so much for the racing community in Kevin’s name. The family keeps Kevin’s legacy alive and it always makes me smile when I see a Gman Tshirt at the track or just in public. Gman4ever
Came to the sport several years after Kevin’s passing and got to know the Gobrect’s as a client. Then through sponsorship of Brian Montieth and car owner Jerry Parrish. Quickly learned their passion for the sport. This family has endured and did what most do to honor their son by staying with the sport he loved.Truly Great folks and an honor to know them.
Kevin was a good guy and a great customer of mine! Golf Cart Services got a ton a stuff from me! RIP Kevin. A helluva racer and a good guy. Such a tragic loss for everyone that enjoys the sport we love. No doubt that he was good enough, fast enough, and smart enough to achieve great things. And he did.
I got pics of him in the silver zemco 11 that he kicked ass in. It hurts every time I look at it he knowing that one of the best is gone. I was at his funeral and he was honored the way he should have been. A champion.
I grew up with Kevin. He would come over to my house. We were in the same class and graduated together. I was absolutely devastated when I read the headline that he was killed.
Kevin is still, to me one of the biggest “oh if only” stories in sprint car racing. He had so much talent and potential but never got the chance to showcase it. I love that, to this day the rookie of the year crown is named in his honor- it shows the measure of respect and regard people had for him.
I love it this warms my heart my father was killed at eldora speedway Oct 2nd 99 those where some tough years for raceing thank the lord for the advances in safety since them days especially the haans device it's unfortunate my father knew nothing of the device 😥 I sure miss him everyday 💙
Bobbi is absolutely amazing i have never met someone as nice kind and friendly as her for her to stay in a sport that has taken so much from her You got this outlaw tough award that has been given out to everyone except the one person who personifies the true definition of outlaw tough if they are not going to give it to her then atleast name it after her BOBBI JOHNSON outlaw tough award
I was there at The HBO in '99. The whole night. I had a new Eldora hat, Earl Baltes signed it for me during the rain delay. After the race, Kevin was going up to the press box and stopped to sign the hat on his way upstairs. I hung it on my wall after he passed away. About 10 yrs ago I passed it forward to Tony Stewart's father to have at Eldora.
