Thank you very much, Coleton and Kyle, for this video! I right away checked the rear door shades on my car and they are fine, so I guess it's just an error on your car. The holes in the front and backseats are indeed totally different in my car as well! (I have the 14 way seats with cooling/heating and massage.) Aesthetically, the Macan 4 tolerances noted in the video are not even visible to the naked eye, and are well within spec. That was not the case with my Mach-E GT. Ford currently has two active recalls with the Mach-E, and one of them is a paint issue. And given that an adjustable suspension is absent on the Mach-E, it has always suffered from a rough "bumpy" ride. And as for performance, the Mach-E's speed limiter kicking in at 5 seconds was a real buzzkill. Not to mention the missing features (on a top trim level), slow SW on the infotainment system, no regen settings, spotty Blue Cruise, finicky door buttons, etc. Definitely not the experience Porsche ownership provides. And as evidenced by Ford slashing Mach-E pricing again and cutting back on EV production (retooling plants for ICE production), resale value is dropping fast. I was advised by the Used Car Manager at a Ford dealer, to take the best offer (from Carvana) now, because the car would depreciate $2-3K in the three months while the Macan 4S was being built. That's what I did, and I haven't looked back.
I’ve driven the mach E and the macan EV 4, i’m skeptical if you actually drove it. Macan EV was hands down the nicest EV I ever drove, and I drove it right after the taycan.
I’m sorry guys, this really is a clickbait title - nothing video. I’m awaiting delivery of a Macan Turbo electric in paint to sample riviera blue, 22” RS alloys etc etc - from what you’ve said in this video, you’ve cemented my decision. Interior you drooled over, and panel gaps measured with a feeler gauge - sorry to be critical of what you’re doing here, but c’mon…. I spent 1hr 15 minutes watching this with the eventual conclusion of what exactly? I’ll be doing a video of my car when I get it, just so others can see the specs I’ve chosen and what it looks like, so people can make informed decisions.
I've seen multiple examples of this and none of them had gaps like you guys discovered. Porsche is one of the best when it comes to quality so I'm kind of lost for words.

And that was NOT an on cost on the Evoque!
$130K I now see why in China this EV isn't selling well compared to its Chinese counterparts. Porsche has the best driving dynamics and brakes, but that is the only advantage it has over the Chinese competitors who offer a lot more features as standard and little to no plastics in their interiors.
The Macan in China is now discounted around 40% just yesterday. It is very clear Chinese EVs are winning. Also 3rd Q Mercedes profits is down 64% even tho their sales is only down 17% , meaning they have discounted all their models and it affects the bottom line.
China's EV market is prospering. The West needs to take notice. Tesla is NOT the end all be all. There are actual cars that are far superior to a Tesla in terms of build quality but lack the brand recognition and attractive name to garner a look.
Great review! One note about the leather interior. That car is spec'd with the extended leather package; you have to drop down to "standard" leather package to get the Chalk colour, which then removes some of the leather elements. Two of the more notable (to me) changes when you drop down to standard leather are: (i) loss of leather and stitching on the upper door panels, and (ii) on the centre console, its not wrapped in leather but instead is a hard plastic that resembles leather.
Good point! It’s very tricky to give an overall review with Porsche as it can be very spec dependent! If leather is important to you on your Porsche, you better spend the money!
It’s just wayyyyy too expensive at msrp esp compared to the gas macan. It’s a tiny car without much space like the taycan which is suffering heavily now despite a couple good years of sales
Online, people are saying the Burmester is very lack-luster... Thoughts, because Kyle has stated that it sounds absolutely amazing multiple times now. Many complaints for lack of bass, and we have seen how Kyle usually takes the bass eq and jacks it all the way up. Still waiting on my Macan (burmester equipped) to leave port, but it keeps getting delayed.
Because people only focus on bass. Burmester are masters at making music sound as accurate as possible, however most people just want an obscene amount of bass. Audiophiles love Burmester, but the majority will be disappointed by the sane levels of bass
@@gavcom4060 Sure, flat SQ matters, but if the perception is that it lacks on one end of the EQ, it can certainly sway public perception. Similar to how I, and I think most, feel about Rivian's Elevation. The audio is clear, has good separation (especially with ATMOS enabled content) but generally lacks bass. Does that make it bad, not necessiarly, but look online at how many people complain. I'm sure the AMT front tweeters produce super accurate, crystal clear highs, I just hope the bottom end is equally up to task. "it slaps" leads me to believe I won't be too disappointed. Guess I'll have to judge for myself if my car ever leaves the Jacksonville, FL port.
Like with any sound system (car or home) it needs 200hrs or so of playing before the speakers are played-in. Won’t sound great immediately when it’s brand new.
Subscribed exactly the sort of detail and quality I look for before I purchase my cars. A bit disappointed that you didn’t pick on the hung accelerator pedal which is not what Porsche use in the 911/ 718 or Panamera - floor mounted pedal. IMO this makes a significant difference on long twisty drives. BMW seems to get the accelerator pedal right each time with their floor mounted pedals and I think these pedals also fit with the rest of the Audi and VW line up.
Thanks for the incredibly detailed review. My takeaway. Once again Porsche has delivered a vehicle that is for people who don't care about rear seat legroom of any kind. When l first saw a Macan ICE owned by a friend who is 5'8" and l couldn't possibly sit behind him, l checked it off my list. I thought with PPE that would change. Nope. Pass, especially at this price.
Some products are selling well because of its brand appeal. If you have plenty of dough at your disposal. So go ahead if you will. For example you're paying more for something less when you purchase an iphone.
Kyle, Full disclosure>you coached your mom & dad to order a new Macan from Fort Collins Porsche last May. Car is held up in Texas port due to software issues. Kinda explains your defense of the Macan and Porsche as Colton gave his less than stellar review of fit and finish. I can see why you are anxious to get the other Macan, Fort Collins Porsche has in stock to compare fit and finish. Hopefully your parents Macan will fare better in a Colton review.
I'm curious why the Genesis GV60 wasn't mentioned as a possible cross-shopping model. It has a similar size and shape, 25 cm shorter and 5 cm narrower at the outside, but actually a slightly longer wheel base, which probably translates to matching interior room, if not slightly bigger? It's a luxury brand too, even if perhaps not quite at the Porsche level. The big difference is that Genesis includes almost everything with the standard trim levels, while Porsche makes you pay extra for every little feature, even some things that are included with most EVs these days. A detailed comparison would be interesting. How much more does one get for the much more expensive reasonably specced Macan? The bigger battery is one significant upside for the Macan, but what else? Obviously, those who want to customise all the trim colors won't get this from Genesis, but for those who just want a good and fun car, is the Genesis GV60 the better deal?
All of that extended leather wrap cost extra on the car. Porsche always charges extra for their leather. Even on the base, synthetic leather should be standard for that kind of price instead of just soft plastic
I think Porsche quality control will definitely sort this out when they see this video. Ultimately it’s still a dealer car, and hasn’t yet been released to a customer.
I love Porsches but this car seems like a miss. Too expensive and too cramped in the second row, for starters. Despite the brand allure or even driving dynamics, it’s difficult to justify well over $100,000 for a small SUV. You can spec a decent Range Rover Vogue for $130-150K in the U.S.
This vehicle was made to satisfy government regulations. In the EU, you can only manufacture ICE vehicles if you produce X amount of EVs. Porsche needs to sell these if they want to keep the high end 911 market going.
The Model Y doesn't cost $135k either. It cost 35K. So you can't really compare the two. The only similarity is probably size. Even though I think the Model Y has more room and cargo space
@aliendroneservices6621 If you go to Tesla inventory right now. You will find LR RWD Model Ys for $43k. When you add the $1000 referral bonus and $7500 tax credit plus state credits (up to 5k), you get a car that's almost 30k. And with Tesla, all you need to spec is paint color and interior color. Autopilot, power charge port, and heated seats all come standard. You don't have to pay for a key fob or a charge port like on the Mecan
@aliendroneservices6621 the base price minus referral credit ($1000) and federal tax credit ($7500) lands you at $35000. That's without factoring in state credits.
@@aliendroneservices6621 You can buy a new top spec performance all-wheel drive model Y for $42,990 after referral credit of a $1000 and federal tax credit $7500 you might even qualify for more discounts as a state credit depending where you live. I am not comparing the model Y with a Porsche, I know that Porsche is completely in a different level but basically you can buy 3 model Y performance for the price of one Macan like the one in this video.
55:0255:10 "Porsche uses a high-quality microfiber material called *_Race-Tex_* in its leather-free interiors, as well as a textile material with wool content. Porsche also partnered with Natural Fiber Welding and Motherson to develop a vegan leather substitute for a Taycan door trim." (Google AI)
Great in depth quality test. I just didnt get this remark: in all dimensions smaller than the model Y? It's 2cm wider, 3cm longer and the same height. I also wouldnt call a 4.78m long, 1.94m wide SUV 'compact'. It's mid-sized at best.
I had a deposit down for a Macan Turbo EV since the summer of 2022 as the brother had a Taycan CT 4S on order the year previous, well when the brother received his December 2022 it has been nothing but problem after problem and frankly if you ignored it's superior handling it's actually a very average interior and build quality for something over £100K. I cancelled my order and decided to lease an i5M60 for a couple of years to see how things improve with EVs and this was the wisest thing I could have done, the BMW feels way better sorted as an EV than the Taycan and it's technology actually works all of the time. Porsche in my opinion have a real problem with EV, in fact all European brands do because they are expecting the same price as their regular cars and the chinese brands are matching them in terms of quality but in some cases undercutting them by 60% like for like. No wonder countries like American are placing such high tariffs on their products and I imagine others will follow.
@@computercrack I am glad you have had a pleasant experience with yours, we on the other hand have not and of course such things taint your opinions greatly.
People, this is not a real Porsche, at best it’s an Audi with Porsche badging and price tag, at worst it’s a VW. IMO you have to be a sucker to pay the Porsche premium for this over the Audi.
And now with paint and panel gaps, really following Tesla. The review on this channel is very appropriate, Porsche buyers are and should be very picky. The premium paid for a Porsche over the Audi and VW can't just be the extra leather.
@@alexdovey6191 It has to be better, it cost twice as much as the model Y. I'm sure it's a great vehicle. The comments here are for the 1% difficult to please crowd.
I’m a former Cayenne owner who has now walked away from the brand. Porsche is very much in the same decline as other German carmakers. My Cayenne had a ton of alignment issues, interior quality problems, purple roof rails on a black car, gaping window gaskets, major mechanical issues by 40k miles. The new all digital dashes with gloss black center consoles are awful. A shame, they still drive great but with skyrocketing prices and plummeting quality, not worth it at all.
Porsche Macan for Porsche enthusiasts? Ehm... no way. Never ever. That's a better Audi Q5 for shopping or trips around the city nothing more, picking/dropping off kids etc. Unusable model for anything else than that. Except the Macan Turbo with an engine the Macan has always been the least-Porsche-like model ever made... And I am a loyal Porsche fan and owner for decades...
Isn’t it this demo car a pre production car that would explain the gaps ? Maybe the front bumper has been repainted further to a damage with the odometer …
This is what potential Macan customers go to drive. This in theory should be “better built” than customer variants and should represent the brand in the best light possible. Also, this car will be sold to a customer as a CPO vehicle,
@@Mogusfordays Yes , i have driven both and Polestar 4 were much better. Im not buying anything because of the ”badge”. Would you buy a old toyota with if it had a Porsche logo? Only real porsche is the Porsche 911. Thats the best car. My buddy switched from Porsche Taycan to Polestar 3 and finds it much better
My Macan Turbo is similarly spec'd to the one the video except mine has rear axle steering and is aventurine green. It looks spectacular from 100 feet, 10 feet, or up as close as one can get. I absolutely love the driving dynamics. I couldn't care less if the paint is 4.77 mils or 5.32 mils. The only thing that is less than perfect is the Burmester. It is good but not great. When I saw the car for the first time in the meet and greet room at my local Porsche dealer I new that every choice I made in the configurator was spot on. After a few days of ownership I went back and opted for the extended warrantee because I know I will own this car for a long time.
After test drive I'm canceling my order. You missed that the visors don't extend to the side to block the afternoon soon. Not only a comfort detail but a serious safety issue. The killer for me is no one foot driving and slow throttle response (on the 4 at least), so the engaging and delightful qualities of electric driving are compromised. So Porsche succeeded in making this electric car act like a dirty car, unfortunately. A Tesla is actually more fun unless you are at the track. Also, it's O.K to like cars that don't poison the earth and my children---you seemed a bit embarrassed by that. Good review though, and the beautiful Macan HVAC switches should be required in all cars with screens.
So your main criticism is no one foot driving? Porsche customers don't want one foot driving hence Porsche decided not to set it up that way. Seems like you would be happier with a low rent Tesla.
Am I the only one to really not like this deep green color? The baby blue and violet colors look awesome but in general disappointed by the color options. No yellow option, and the ice grey looks almost white. Maybe it looks more grey in persion but meh.
Really horrible that you spend six figures for a car comes like this. It’s just absolutely absurd. It’s almost like they’re hiring idiots to work on the assembly line. 33:50
That air suspension can and will break … sooner or later … very pricey fix outside of warranty … bad move by Porsche to make it standard in Macan 4 instead of steel suspension
Amazing to see you too dancing trying to justify the atrocious price tag for this thing. Kyle said that this is gonna be a good seller for them, rolling on floor lapping my butt off, this is yet another vehicle that they’re gonna force Porsche buyers to purchase in order to get a single allocation to an actual Porsche sports car. Just look at the resale prices on Porsche EV’s. Completely overpriced.

You obviously have never owned a Porsche, and don't understand that it's a lifestyle choice. Spellcheck your post next time, you lose credibility with all the typos. LOL. And go take a test drive in a Macan 4, then come back and see if you still feel that way.
Sure, it's surely a lifestyle choice... does not mean it is not overpriced. People pay $1,000 for a MontBlanc pen as well... most don't get it, and while yes it is better than a $1 BIC pen, you can get a chinese clone for around $25 to $35 which is just as good. The majority of the pricetag is purely to make brand owners feel special... Underneath, this is just another Audi/VW product with same underpinnings as ID4. The only real Porsche are the 911 and Caymans. PS... we do have a P car in our family. lol... beyond the other typical Germans and have raced P cars around the track. Taycans are already significantly discounted and these will be just the same.

You just don't get it. What makes a discerning Porsche owner feel special, is the performance dynamics of the car, which is pure Porsche DNA. And the Macan 4S and Macan Turbo are by no means just another Audi / VW. Do your homework. Thanks for your prediction about the depreciation, Nostradamus. I don't disagree with you there. I also don't care about the 50% depreciation in a few years. You only live once, and I want what I want. I've had 911s and a 718 Cayman. I had my share of fun with them, but they're just not practical as daily drivers. The Macans are a lot more comfortable with plenty of performance to boot. You heard Kyle say that he prefers The Macan to the Taycon, as his daily driver. You would understand if you had an opportunity to regularly drive both. Enjoy your ID4. LOL.
lol. I GET IT.... I just don't agree with it. There are just as many people crazy about riced out Civics too. I have ZERO concerns about what people do with their own money... be it hookers, booze, gambling, drugs or blowing it on depreciating assets. Obviously very very very few people see it like you and why dealers are begging people to buy anything on the lots except the latest limited edition vehicle. And no... definitely no ID4 here... too small, too crappy, and no proper one pedal driving. =P We have a number of Teslas and a Lightning now.

To take of the electric logo it’s in the exterior decals and logs section 17:51
Yep and it's free.
Beautiful green. Reminiscent of BMW's San Remo Green.
It slaps
Out of curiosity I configured one today on the US site and there is a badge delete option.
Out of Spec Dad and Mom are going to love their Macan EV!
Well done. Thanks for the honest report.
what's missing: KEYLESS DRIVING
If you have experienced this f.e. in a Tesla, you don't want to miss it!
Love the green !!! But for $130k 😢 this car should be pretty close to perfect. Still love porsche !!!
Great review and learned a lot from you. I like company and I wait for camera fixes and bi-directional charging. Thanks
Love the new Maccan EV but at 82k for the base; might wait to pick one up in a couple of years when prices drop
I remember when Kyle called out the ZDX for that greasy feeling GM-grade leather. Once you have felt it, well let's just say, you cannot unfeel it.
Peugeot 407 sedan is still the king of best hidden trunk opening button
The AC seats on these pull air in instead of blowing air out. It makes for much faster cooling but comes with the noise...
just wait 6 month then you can get the car for $60,000
What’s the cost now?
@@ONI1013.100k+
It already depreciated along the video, and so my credit score just by watching.
You guys are expecting a level of perfection that no human is capable of.
In the European configurator you can totally "debadge" the car leaving only PORSCHE at the back.
This is a nice EV!
Mine is still seating at the port since August 1st... :(
You get rid of the electric badge with dental floss and a hair dryer. LOL
A friend has a Macan GTS and the panel gaps on my Tesla are better. Much better. Mine is from China.
Hows the sound system?
All of that extended leather wrap cost extra on the car. Porsche always charges extra for their leather. Even on the base, synthetic leather should be standard for that kind of price instead of just soft plastic
No mobile phone key. I test drove one and specifically asked that question.
You’ve asked a major convenience question. That’s crazy!
It's nice, but honestly I'd prefer the ICE version because of the driving dynamics/feel and sounds that you don't get in an EV.
but ICE is a two people car. in the EV you can travel in group of four
@@michalklucz6907 What? 😂 No....
And a wayyy better price
My Macan S sucks. Transmission failure as soon as the warranty is over. Poor sounds system and Havac interface. Never gonna get another.
@@Japplesnap I am 187cm tall. There was literally no leg room behind my driver’s seat in old Macan GTS
The funny thing is before Tesla nobody gave a shit about panel gaps. Now everyone looks at all brands panel gaps. Karma is a bitch.
Love the color , British racing green?
no paint thickness gauge?
I think Porsche quality control will definitely sort this out when they see this video. Ultimately it’s still a dealer car, and hasn’t yet been released to a customer.
Not sure you can base an entire line build quality based on one car…
Never said I did 🤔
I love Porsches but this car seems like a miss.
They had me to reimburse for buying a vogue over this. I‘d really recommend to try both before you decide.
Brand new and available with discounts after a month. Demand must be on the money.
At least in e-tron the electric charge port lid opens down and if the lip is open the port pushes it close when closing.
130k holy cow!!!! My dude literally had to pay an arm for it.
The Model Y doesn't cost $135k either. It cost 35K. So you can't really compare the two. The only similarity is probably size. Even though I think the Model Y has more room and cargo space
A barebones Model Y starts at $50k.
A barebones Macan EV starts at $80k.
Dumbo, not everyone is qualified for credit and referral doesn't apply everywhere. It's a direct competitor.
No NACS?
so from your experience if you take your car back to the dealer do they actually fix the tolerance?
Yes they will fix everything no problem.
55:02 55:10 "Porsche uses a high-quality microfiber material called *_Race-Tex_* in its leather-free interiors, as well as a textile material with wool content. Porsche also partnered with Natural Fiber Welding and Motherson to develop a vegan leather substitute for a Taycan door trim." (Google AI)
I know everyone says it, but it really does feel like car prices are getting out of hand. 130k for a small SUV seems pretty outrageous.
nit picking a demo vehicle?
Well, the panel gaps are there, and being a demo didn't cause the inconsistencies. The bottom line is no car is perfect.
Great in depth quality test. I just didnt get this remark: in all dimensions smaller than the model Y? It's 2cm wider, 3cm longer and the same height. I also wouldnt call a 4.78m long, 1.94m wide SUV 'compact'. It's mid-sized at best.
Model Y is a lot wider
Very cramped rear seat. Very little storage space. Good for putting a couple grocery bags in back and that is about it. $130-K for this car is crazy.
But in a few years when it resales for $50K it will be a bargain!
$130k US?
its a Porsche dude, its not only a car its a lifestyle!
This spec does not have the double glazing which is why the cabin noise is loud.
You cannot have a rear wiper with the double glazing. Not impressed.
Dont agree the Taycan is a fantastic EV in every regard
@@computercrack I am glad you have had a pleasant experience with yours, we on the other hand have not and of course such things taint your opinions greatly.
Manhattan Green
really great job guys
The beautiful clam shell design hood is GONE.
911 rear seats?
Is it left-handed drive? 😅
People, this is not a real Porsche, at best it’s an Audi with Porsche badging and price tag, at worst it’s a VW. IMO you have to be a sucker to pay the Porsche premium for this over the Audi.
Take off the body and it's a basic iD4 underneath.
That's laughable. Have you even driven one? It's every bit a Porsche as an ICE, just without the engine sound.
And now with paint and panel gaps, really following Tesla. The review on this channel is very appropriate, Porsche buyers are and should be very picky. The premium paid for a Porsche over the Audi and VW can't just be the extra leather.
I own one, and for me it’s far superior than my range rover and my Tesla model y
No rear leg room 2 seater only
Porsche Macan for Porsche enthusiasts? Ehm... no way.
Even Bentleys have cosmetic issues.
Isn’t it this demo car a pre production car that would explain the gaps ? Maybe the front bumper has been repainted further to a damage with the odometer …
This is what potential Macan customers go to drive. This in theory should be “better built” than customer variants and should represent the brand in the best light possible. Also, this car will be sold to a customer as a CPO vehicle,
Saw one in traffic today. Looks like any other SUV, totally lacks the Porsche image. Might as well buy a Hyundai.
Drive it in a rain storm about 10 times and let's see if it has electrical issues or water in the trunk. Looks amazing though

At least the paint doesn't have the orange peel of AMG and MB
First year run will have build quality issues and VERY high probability of being a lemon. Thats standard
Driven this and the Polestar 4 and went with polestar 4. It had much better quality than Porsche and better ride handling also
You chose volvo over a Porsche?🙄
@@Mogusfordays Yes , i have driven both and Polestar 4 were much better. Im not buying anything because of the ”badge”. Would you buy a old toyota with if it had a Porsche logo?
Only real porsche is the Porsche 911. Thats the best car. My buddy switched from Porsche Taycan to Polestar 3 and finds it much better
They should learn from Mercedes best 360 camera
maybe electrify is a bad idea for Porche
Wow thx for bringing all off these errors to our attention!
$150k grocery shopper! 😬
Totally agree that the rear is the worst view from a design perspective.
I think that gold colored trim is an option Porsche calls "Neodyne"
I found that out after I went home and specced a Macan out! Thanks for the catch on that one keeping us honest 🫡
I wouldn’t do it on a demo model that has had the crap beat out of it. Get a new delivery.
The $ numbers you're talking about are hard to believe. Just buy them used.
Am I the only one to really not like this deep green color? The baby blue and violet colors look awesome but in general disappointed by the color options. No yellow option, and the ice grey looks almost white. Maybe it looks more grey in persion but meh.
I saw one at a pop up store in the mall so I don't know about that lighting but I thought nobody would order this ugly green colour
Really horrible that you spend six figures for a car comes like this. It’s just absolutely absurd. It’s almost like they’re hiring idiots to work on the assembly line. 33:50
The car max should be 80k 130k is just absurd. The car does not have anything that warrants that price NOTHING
A lot of money for such a small car!
What a beauty, but it is electro. Like a vegan sausage. Looks real,, but you feel and notice the difference in every bite :(
Go drive one and see if you still think it's "vegan". It's loaded with Porsche DNA.
130K 😛
What are you guys talking about? Tesla is the only car company with build quality issues. 😂
All OEM´s have quality issues especially with new cars - only the Tesla never get out the zone of bad quality -
Yes -what are you saying - Tesla price point not Porsche and Tesla are made well - ps. All the lead in for this was a bit over the top - please let the guy look at the macan and stop all the babble
Plus this is a demo car. I hardly doubt they go through the same process getting these out.
Just bought a 2024 model 3 from a 2021 model 3. There is a huge improvement so I think they are moving in there right direction
@@booooooooooooooooooooooo ur "huge improvement" was already in other cars.. all they did was what they should of been doing from the start albeit still not up to the level of the Germans.
