    I'm new to SINE Player and think it's absolutely amazing. No more long AF loading times and the option to purchase exactly what Im after from a release is incredible. The way it should be!

    hi Geoff... I love the Metropolis Ark series so I'm a BIG fan of Orchestral Tools but unless and until we can edit and manipulate samples in Sine like we can in Kontakt, as a composer/sound designer I don't see any point in using it !

      @garaughty I'm genuinely curious, what's your primary use case for editing individual samples inside of an existing library?

    SINE isn't bad for what I'm using it for (a free sound player, no DAW) but for those of you needing something more robust, I can see your frustration with it. It does have some promise- and since I can't afford to shell out $$ for Kontakt and an NI keyboard at the moment, using this and Ableton will just have to do. Thanks MM for a very helpful vid!

    Sine is a mixed bag for me. I have a lot of libraries from many companies but I find Orchestral Tools free Helix library sounds great along side libraries that cost hundreds of dollars. This player was completely unusable at first and caused a tonne of crashes on a brand new Windows PC. It's fairly stable now regarding not crashing my system but I frequently have to remove the plugin and reload because patches just get stuck playing notes indefinitely. I do really mean frequently too. Like every 10-15 minutes, more so if I'm switching between Sine and another player like Spitfire or Kontakt. So I do use it, but reluctantly. I also find it more cumbersome to use and slower to tweak things like reverb, volume, mic positions, etc.

    I enjoy the layout and functionality of Sine, agree about the Store and OT's whole ala carte philosophy, it's a game changer. Sine is still a bit unstable in my experience though. Crashes in Logic sometimes, heavy load times for the Berlin Series, especially on startup but once it loads everything it's fine. Would love for OT and Spitfire for that matter to have some sort of a batch resave function on their players. The eliminate certain articulations function is nice in Spitfire's player but still doesn't always do the job. I guess I need more than 64GB now.

    I tried Sine early on and it was nothing but trouble.
    I haven't checked lately, but on VI-Control, there weren't many fans of Sine.
    I own most of the Arks and some other OT products. Staying with Kontakt.

    I downloaded it briefly in 2020 and found it confusing and never used it. It came with Layers for free. Much different from now, it certainly has improved and there is a tone of free stuff now. Thanks for the update on this thing, I would have missed out on some cool stuff.

  • @davejohnsonmusic
    @davejohnsonmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I only have the free stuff they've offered, but I didn't really use it because it took them like 2 years to bring AAX format. I was using it in wrapper in the beginning, but never bothered to mess with it much. I found it overall confusing and not user-friendly, but I may go back and revisit it, as you've cleared up a couple things.

    @Manchester Music, I clicked this video because your thumbnail says "Is SINE better than Kontakt?". I don't know anything about Kontakt and wanted to see what the differences are but you never showed any of that. It was an excellent video on SINE though and I learned some things. But how does it compare to Kontakt?

    At age 62 I thought I was the classic grumpy old man, but the amount of moaning I read about both Sine and the Spitfire player is astonishing. I've never had any problems with either, nor with Kontakt. But I can't stress how I hate the way Kontakt is not a re-sizable GUI, this for me is a huge issue. As regards improvements to Sine, a simple one would be to be able to set a default download location, as currently it always defaults to the System drive.

    What they wanted with SINE is to kinda rival their main competitor, who also has a dedicated player. Both fail on many levels; SINE is borderline unusable, I don't wanna even get into it, looks more like a web browser than an instrument plugin, and Spitfire's is a different instrument for every library of theirs as opposed to a sampler/player that can load all their libraries, like LABS does. Why in the world did they want to move away from Kontakt in the first place is beyond me

      Im so happy spitfire (and others) moved away from the Krooks of Kontakt! Constantly upgrading and leaving folks behind, making you spend £ then finding it's gonna be included in your Komplete upgrade.....

      @@johnhawkinshawkins1284 you sound like one of those people that buy a thing without bothering to educate yourself on what you’re even buying then proceeds to talk about getting scammed. no one is making you spend money in anything. people act like they are obligated to buy upgrades and blame their lack of self control on the companies. Why you think they have paid upgrade systems lmao because they know people that don’t even use the current version will rush out to buy it

    I'll chip in, why aren't I ? well I just downloaded, it. Firstly is REeeeeealy slow, its not intuative, at all. The inteface is dire, really bad, I could not deal with the way you load the keyboad, the download time is huge, the whole thing is clumsy, sluggish, slow, stingey on graphical feedback, It needs work.. Oh and it's stupendiously expensive. This was only my own findings, but others may well connect it. =o) Sorry if thats a bit mean, but its honest. =o)

    I like,,need key switching but my playing style is.definitely right hand orientated 🤫 and therefore I don’t want right hand key switching ..it should be a switchable dexterous option . Sine libraries sound mainly goodish but compared to other alternatives they are are work in progress ..which is fine … it’s fine to innovate and follow a program of continuous improvement.
