This a great little overlooked film that's worth watching every holiday season. Not exactly an all-time classic but these scene alone is absolute perfection.

Yeah I'm just watching this on BBC iPlay and something keep bothering me why does the grandpa keep calling the grandma "mother"?
      Doesn't she have a name?
Is that what they used to do back in the days?
      It's so weird.
That really confused me but other than that it's a great movie! it's so funny!

One of my favorite lines from this scene, delivered by the perfect person, Mr. Mitchum: "Honey, I don't think anyone wants it just now". Funny line and perfect from Robert Mitchum.

The triangle, the tension and Christmas dinner with the family and parents. You can't get more tension in a suspense thriller or horror film! Brilliant writing, direction and acting.

One of my all time favorite scenes. I did not follow Mitchum's wise advice and have regretted it ever since.

Remember when men were men......and girls loved them? Men respected men in those days.

Just watched this film! The ending totally ruined it for me. It was a great movie up until then. Plus, I was Team Carl.

I heard when this movie was released it was not very well received. That may have been one of the real reasons. I did not like the ending either. Carl was the nice guy. On the whole, though I did enjoy this movie very much.

@Cat Princess He was a lawyer and an excellent provider. I did not see a wimp at all. Steve was a little full of himself. And kid was bratty. Guess he just liked Steve. But her parents liked him it seemed. I just did not care for Steve and he seemed like a loser with no career and had menial jobs.
