water cutting is used in many industries...has been for decades. Frozen foods, plastics, and yes steel. It may be slower than oxy-fuel gas cutting but no heat distortion.

It’s also filled with abrasive. Imagine replacing the paper in sandpaper with water and that’s what this is. Very impressive but it’s the water moving the abrasive sand through the material. You can see the tube that feeds the nozzle the sand coming off the side of the nozzle.

Special sand is called abrasive. Sometimes its called aluminum oxide. Pressure can reach up to 90,000psi. The thicker and hardest material I cut on waterjet was Steel 5 inch think. Took me 4 days to cut. 10 hours daily. Also i used 3d cuts (on the angle)

Do you know what is 90,000 psi? That's equivalent to around 500,000 pascals on a truck rim!
lol. you need to aknowledge yourself with psi. truck has about 90 to 100 on average class 8 truck, not 90,000. 90,000 in a stream 0.5mm line will cut 1 inh wood in a second...

@juancarrero1119 with waterjet its more precise with thicker materials, with thinner materials laser. It can take few days to cut a 5inch think stainless steel with water jet. Water is filtered and seperated with that abrasive but abrasive had to be refilled with new one. Old abrasive usually get returned to a company who recycle it, they it and renew
