with the drink plan you can ask any bar tender for a soda. You do not need the cup. so on your next RCCL cruise leave the cup in your cabin.

Great Video, can I add a comment to the Soda Package. I am a "Royalist" if you will and have done the soda package many times. The cups are completely optional. You can use them at the free style machine, BUT you can also go to any bar on the ship and get a soda/pop. Some bars will refill you cups, some will not and just give you a new cup (given covid, I feel they will eliminate any filling of reusable cups until things settle). You package is tide to your sea pass and who ever you selected in the planner to get the additional package. You can get as much soda/pop from the bars as you may like. The freestyle machine is just there to give you additional options. I understand this knowledge is not inherent but for future reference, you do not have to use the cups to get soda, if you have the soda package. The cups are really just for the freestyle machines, because they have built in RFIDs in the cups.

I really wish that they did not leave those annoying little bits of green stem on the chocolate covered strawberries. They taste lousy if you eat them, or create a mess if you don't

I think a huge misconception of the soda package, is that you HAVE to use the cup and the coke freestyle machines. You don’t! It’s just an added perk so that you can get some soda to take back to the room or make it easier to carry around, rather than a regular glass. But, you can get a soda from any of the bars and restaurants just by showing your seapass card. 🤗
OK so if I buy the soda package for the kids. They can get drinks from the bars also? Does it have to be in the plastic cup or can they drink in a regular glass? I don't want to carry them all over the ship.

My understanding of the soda package is that you can get a soda from any bar or restaurant on the ship with your soda package. You do not have to carry your cup around. I heard that on the Royalcaribbeanblog podcast. Just FYI in case you go on another RC cruise.
We never carry our cups around. They're just souvenirs for us. 😁

Only first timers carry those cups around the ship, everyone else just walks up to any bar and get their coke, rookie mistake

Hi Richard thanks very much for watching. We kind of like the idea of the soda fountain areas throughout the ship but as opposed to carrying our own cup maybe we could have just scanned our seapass card and then filled up when we wanted. I guess we just were not fans of the whole Carry Your Own Cup around for a week program. Maybe it will grow on us on our next Royal Caribbean cruise.

You can just go up to any bar and get the free drink, you don't need the cup, the info is on your seapass or bracelet.

You do know the reason why your cups are the only thing that you can use on the free style machines is because you have a chip inside the cups that identifies that specific cruise to use those cups. Anywhere else you have to show a bartender your card to prove that you have a package and can get any type of cup, not too many people know that , they also time how many times you get a drink in between so you cant just get a drink and share it with somebody else

Loved the vlogs for this cruise! Loved seeing you guys outside of Carnival! This September will be my first time cruising outside of Carnival and on Royal Caribbean. I purchased the key and unlimited dining package for my cruise. I'm excited to try it and see what benefits we take advantage of and trying the restaurants!

@@SharonatSeaTravel Allure of the Seas. I see it was awesome! Itll be a Travel Agent cruise, there's well over 300 of us going and having training onboard as well.
If you have a coke sticker on your seapass card, you should be able to show the card at any bar and they will give you a fountain coke in a regular glass. I've only traveled royal Caribbean since I started cruising in 2007 and never carried the cup around, unless I want the drink to stay cold longer.

We have been on 9 RCL Cruises and on Oasis 3 times. Each time you can walk to up any bar and get a coke. On your room key it states you have a drink package. I never carry my cup around.

I’m with you on the carrying around the dirty cup thing. Towards the end of our cruise the soda machines ran dry and the ice was not available. Oasis sept 2018.

Hey guys, you don't have to carry the cup! Sharon, love the clothes you wear. (how many suitcases do you pack?) LOL I thought the cocoa krispy was funny!
You don't actually need to carry the drink package cup at all - at any restaurant or bar you can just show your sea pass with your drink package and they will give you your coke in a regular glass. We had the drink package on Anthem and never even took out plastic cups out of the stateroom. Those are for the freestyle machines only, and we don't use them really.
I do agree that Royal should do a better job of communicating the ins and outs of the drink package.
Yes we left the cups in our room most of the time.

The Canon M50 for most and gopro for Coco Cay.
With the soda package you can walk up to any bar and order a coke. Same as in the theaters and restaurants. I never carry the cup around.
Agree. We never have to carry them around either. I guess you would if you wanted special mixes or something.
