    Thanks! This makes being scanned down a lot less scary.
    Methods to evade scans:
    - warp chess: warp from planet to planet, if you have no cloak device. The hunter won't want to waste endless fuel rescanning you if you're never there.
    - burn and cloak: if you have a cloak, warp somewhere safe if you need to disengage combat, put on AB or MWD and build to max speed, then hit cloak; you should have enough inertia to move a bit away from your cloak spot (because moving after cloak is very slow).
    And also my tip is warp out of your story mission location the minute there's a threat: if someone scans you down they can bookmark the location and just keep coming back to it, possibly with more friends to kill you.

      there's some inaccuracies in this. In warping from celestial to celestial. That depends on whether you are in low sec or null sec and if you have a criminal timer while in low sec. If it's low sec and no timer in a system that has no stations. Warping to a gate in many cases should be the safest place you can find in the system that is being actively scanned at the time. In a majority of the time. Anyone who engages you may get one volley off before getting taken out by the sentry guns and those are definitely going to take a person out the moment they have lock. A's long as your tank is enough to hold out for the alpha damage you are going to survive it. Anyone who attaxked and in range of the gate is going to need to get off grid fast or it may next to be blapped by the sentry guns. If they warped out they're not going to be able to warp in to attack again before the sentry hund blap them first and if anything. They have only enough time to jump through the gate before the guns complete the lock and fire. Which is more risky for larger ships to warp out in time after the jump. Only once did a station sentry guns have enough time to get a shot off before I docked in station. The only thing I can think of is it was a fluke while I was in a probe covert ops and the docking in low sec system had a prolonged delay in docking while I was at 0 from station which I had selected dock after I just jumped in from a neighboring low sec system with a criminal timer. the amount of fuel used in scanning may be pricey for some but a large number of those who are hunting in low sec and running scans have usually been in faction cruiser or frigs, along with blinged scepters. Which most that are using these and haven't already lost them. Can definitely afford the fuel and the space to hold it if they have the isk to afford the cost of billions to buy and fit the ships. Also you may be warping around but while running scans and doing the mini game in between warps. They could be warping around too in hopes of catching you if you land in the same site. As for immediately warping out from a storyline. I have to disagree with you on this. Yes you may have to warp in most cases but when I'm running storylines I'm using a brawling cane fit that has nos, web and scrams for the elites and insanely fast frigs that I have had a problem hitting while just using the web. This includes a fraction tracking computer fitted in both cases that was activated. The vigil in for freedom sites are one of the few non elite ships that this is a must for me to hit. Also I'm not going to be able to face tank all waves without separating them so I always warp to the site at a hundred. Once I land I wither approach a station or anomaly that is either in the opposite direction of the sites signal or close to being in the opposite direction. 1-2 cycles of MWD while I move to about 125-140 km from the sites signal. This is for multiple reasons. The distance the rats are having to travel is more than enough for them to be separated into multiple groups with the largest group being the slowest. Making it much easier to handle them especially the elites. As for the range I specified. You want to be pointed in the direction of where you are going to warp while being far enough away that even if they warp to 100 and land near your location it's still not close enough to scram and hitting the mwd while resuming approach or warp out immediately before they can get a lock and close enough to tackle. Also you never want to go further than 150 from the signal. Especially if there's any wrecks from the rats at that distance they can use to warp to if they landed at 0. I'm also using the mechanics involved with ships warping into sites especially if it's someone who just warped in and now has a bigger buddy warping in too. Even if the first ship is brawling with you. The chances of him being in range to engage upon landing are very low and may take a while to reach his buddy if he warped to 0 and if you're under 150 km from him and closer to 100 km. He can't warp to his buddy without burning the remaining distance. By then his buddy could already be dead. When I'm fighting the rats I try to keep my distance from the signal between 125-50 it 75 from the signal. And for the first few groups of rats. I wait until they're 30-40 km away and orbit to the largest with 1-2 cycle mwd and nos active on it. When in range I kill the frigs and destroyers after I take out any elites that was with them and anything that is using ewar.each group and wave I complete, I start burning in the direction for emergency warp if needed. I stay aligned to it until the rats are close enough that I need to start attacking them or the damage is getting significant from not moving. Keep in mind not everyone entering the system is hunting or has a scanner. While the time it takes to align, warp around and come back is much longer to do with larger ships like the cane. Which I found I had been spending more time with warping around than I did fighting the rats with the majority of the ships just passing through when they left local while mid way in the 1st warp. The majority of the time that I have actually seen someone warping in. I have enough distance and already aligned to warp out just as they land or before they get a lock. Many times I have gotten a scan warning Which never had anyone come visit. Which not everyone is in a ship to take on a cane just like a brawling slasher interceptor isn't going to want to take on a rupture or cynabal when fitted with autocannons and having to fight the cruisers at 4-6 km. However if there's any warnings I set myself aligned to warp and after 1-2 cycle of mwd I slow boat in that direction ready to warp the moment I see something entering the grid. If it's a false alarm and they leave the system. I can easily turn around and have a shorter distance to get back to ratting. I have tried fitting T3 rig to reduce my source radius. The difference it gave me wasn't that much iin the number of times I detected a scan and the number of times I didn't and someone warped in. The reduction of one rig did put the source radius of my cane to be about 20-30 higher than my rupture with a majority of the ships I didn't detect using faction frigs. Which if solo I have a chance of fighting off which I have been able to do when it's a DD, succubus and dram. Even almost defeated a cynabal after taking out a DD with him which had him almost to hull before I died. Which brings me to the final reason for the distance specified. If someone is going to warp into the site.. I want the location of where they land to be closer to the bulk of the rats than I am or having to go through the rats to get to me. In many of these cases the rats will go after the closer target and something that is especially helpful if it's early in the elite waves with most of the elites still alive to cause even more problems for then especially if they web/scram the ship that just landed giving me even more of a chance to warp out before they get in range which is more possible if I'm moving faster than they can move from the elite webs Which can reduce the max speed without prop mods to 1/3-1/2 of their normal base speed.

    I was flying an Atron Interceptor in low sec and got a warning that my area had been scanned so I jumped to 50km off a station and as soon as I landed I was met by a bellicose cov ops and a Condor interceptor at my location. Thought maybe they were warping to the station as well and then realized they landed on me. The only thing I could conclude is they were the ones that scanned me. Was this just a fluke or how did they follow me through the warp?

    Great video, we need more like this. So you're basically saying that a friend can fly a covert ops frigate cloaked next to a Battleship and he can pay attention to his screen and relay the information about the warning when the area is being scanned. Right?
    Also, what ship were you flying in the screenshot from 16:00 ?

      From what I understand regarding the scanning and the group part in scanning a signal that has multiple ships in. It and not just one makes sense. However if think it's not so much but the signals is some invisible point giving off a signal in a radius around the group. Instead I believe that the signal from the battleship mentioned in your example is with multiple cloaked scepters. While a couple T9 dictors are next to it . The signal being detected would be from the ship giving off the highest signal. The 2 doctors could be a cause for a distortion in the signal and the reason for some of the noise needing to be excluded for pinpointing the location.. consider that signal being scanned in pinpointing the source of the signal a combat probe equivalent but invisible is sent to the area in fine tuning the location as you can warp to it. In a sense also this is very much similar to what EO scanning and detecting scans was except you have to stay focused on the sceen using directional scanning ito pick up any probes nearby. If there are thsn you know that someone is in the process of scanning and allow the opportunity to escape before the scan is completed. This especially true to survive living in which space. Where you are repeatedly running dscan all around you for probes or more important other ships nearby that could be hunting since you can't see anyone in locsl. I believe that the concept is in a way similar in EE regarding the detection and the reason why it was first mentioned when the update was released as one of the ways in avoiding getting killed in lowsec by being scanned. Which was

    • @desmien679
      @desmien679 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      to be with covert ops frig Orr if that's not possible then cruisers due to the lower source radius. The reduction from these ships may not be able to affect the BS signal Which they shouldn't be reducing at all but being in the vicinity of the BS would be something that is a fair the distortion along any celestial/anomalies nearby. Which is preventing the scanner from getting the precise location of the ship giving off the ship giving off the larger signal than the other ships. Since you can't see anything visible or in overview showing something in the vicinity used to perform a scan especially when dscan hasn't been implemented in EE. The tatics for detecting if a shoptos scanning you is impossible to do in EO. Giving a larger ships an disadvantage in detecting the scans than the smaller ships. Even in a probe they may still be able to detect it's signal but they probably won't be able to find the source of the signal without being detected by the probe. Leading to the reason why it was mentioned to use smaller ships nearby as an early scan detection system and allow you the time to get ready to fight or run . This was something I had also noticed during the fleets I was in after the update. Many times flying a cane like running encounters and storyline. I was seeing a number of players warping into the sites and not seeing any warnings that the scan was detected while other times I did see it. A few times someone in my corp would give a hand in faction cruiser if there's a site that is in a high traffic system especially if there's a high activity of pvp deaths from those that were scanned. The faction cruiser (cynabal) was better able to detect a scan them my BC. In the recent pvp fleets I was in for alliance and corp ops. I was in a TFI, talwar command, slasher scepter, or thrasher II interdictor in the fleets and I was was one of the few in the fleet detecting a majority of the scans that our scepters and bombers were also detecring which we were reporting to the FC most of the time. There was a POS we attacked yesterday and multiple scans were detected but not reported since we were looking for a fight not trying to avoid one. Which was the primary purpose of attacking the pos. However many of the the fleets were small gang roams and the detection of scanners was a must in being reported and focused on cruisers and smaller than speed and lower source radius than the larger ships we were fighting in a lot of these fights. Allowing the faster cruisers and smaller ships a better chance of detecting the scans ( a number of which were in retaliation or response to the attacks and kills being done to members of their corp and started forming up a defense fleet to take us out or at the very least to retreat in leaving the region so their Indy and any other player running PVE especially any carebear corps that had to dock due to our threat and losing time for gaining isk or resources for Indy pilot. This was even more important to have ships that could warp out of a site quickly and small enough for detecting a large number of scanning done in the system the fleet was located in that allowed us a better chance of survival. Which some of the fleets had only a few people and not even a ful squad of 8 were still able to kill a number of their ships including some faction cruisers/BS andT9 BS. Any scanning we sis was done h go by scout frigs including some frigs without a scanner but a cloak like a bomber in finding an enemy fleet with ships that we already knew we wouldn't be able to handle that was seen heading to us while we were fast enough to have moved multiple systems out by the time it reached the system we were in and have enough distance away to allow us to continue hunting. One such ship that we avoided instead of suicide attack was a mach. We had 1 hictor, my trasher II dictor, and the rest were scepters/bombers. A fleet that an experienced mach pilot who wouldn't be in a Mach unless he had the proper skills for flying such a ship which we needed to assume that it was also property fitted too and such a ship would have our whole fleet sitting in pods looking at our wrecks before even making a significant dent in it's

      shields. It also had a cruiser and tackle with it a long with a tornado which even alone would've been a huge feat for us to win but not when it was with ships that had were better suited for taking out the ships in our fleet that bigger threats to other ships in our fleet. Such as a number of hounds attacking us could wipe out the fleets cruise quickly along with the Mach , tornado ard cruiser would blap our hictor in seconds. While their drones and the hictor aided by their scepters. Would have no problems taking out my dictor and the frigs. In regards to why the radius includes all ships within it's range unlike the combat probes picking up the signals from each individual ship that can only be scanned separately. Such a system in EE would result in a list that was so large to the extent that if you were in a very high population system trying to scan for the only POS in the system. You're probably going to have as much fun doing as you would have in going through a corps combat log of all km/losses it had since it's creation when games launch and participating in both sov wars. and a majority of it lts time as a Merc corp. is definitely going to take a while to scroll down to the very first kill done by the cop. that's iif you don't accidentally close the log when touching the screen to scroll down some more and having to start over again. If you had 100-200 people in local for defense (not including ty those in local in your fleet which some of those not close to you would've been an additional signal if the mechanics went by EO system if individual signals for each ship. Which also requires the moving of the probes around the system map and not just reducing the size of the probes scan to fine tune a signals location.. Which in EE trying to go through a long list of signals in a mobile game ihas already been an issue with such systems as the market, combat logs, and any other system mechanics that required the devs to only show a limited number each time you scroll down with a loading time needed to see more. The resources on the mobile devices and the servers running the game would be having a hard time continuing to be stable with a large number of those that can run the app don't even have half of the RAM and cache that was needed for the minimum requirements for running EO prior to it fully going to 64 bit windows and still playable on a 32 bit OS. This would be even more of a problem during large-scale battles in one system which still have players experiencing crashes during the fight along with lag. If each ship had it's own scannable signal how much of an increase would it cause in crashes when now you have the resources being used for each player in system being doubled even if it was a little less than the actual played. If it was a fight if 500 vs 500 the results could have the same issue that occurred in the OBT launch experienced in Jita with everyone in the system experiencing such a spike in lag that many wouldn't see any commands issued including warp or move until minutes later and take an hour just to try to maneuver around the sites and signals in the system. Also the ability to move the location of a scan in focus on a specific location you select in the system map to reduce the number of signals being picked up would create an additional object in the system that also requires even more resources that older devices that can EE may not have Which would be affected the most by this.. By including all ships within the radiuyif whoever has the largest source radius included in the resuktwheb completing the scan. In revealing alll ships within the range of the scan so 100 ships could be seen in the results from a j wedding only having one signal using resources instead of 100 signals each using up needed resources for keeping the game stable during these battles that are already pushing both the servers and devices running the app to their limits especially when it a device that barely meets the minimum requirements needed for running the game which in such battles could be impossible to run in this situation. During the OBT I was able to run it on a Samsung Galaxy J7A. Which it barely was able to it being just under the minimum requirements for the OBT and the maximum RAM in the device was the same amount that was stated tin the minimum requirements the app needed to use to be able to run the game. The RAM my device had available after the os and some other necessary things needing to be running had left my phone only having 500-900 MB of ram left and about all 1/2-1/3 of what it needed. So even though I could still run it and it was playable in small-scale PVE or Indy. The app would crash every 20-45 minutes when it needed more resources than what what the device had even if the OS wasn't running. While the whole time I was in the game starting the moment I logged in. I would experience a noticable amount of lag even though I had the minimum settings on graphics and other settings to be minimum to reduce draining more of my resources. This was the primary reason why I was only running small sites/news encounters most of the time I was in combat. I. was able to make a good amount of isk running logistics and haul items bin imicus high mobility Which was my primary means of making iskwheb one launched. Never got shot down invite but I did almost lose it while not paying attention during a delivery from null to Jita. I fortunately noticed the attack shortly after I landed in a system with a cruiser at the gate Which had me tackled despite my single stab in my low slot Which wasn't enough. I continued to try getting away while using dual nos on him and minimal cap drain from only running what bwas needed. Even activation of my stab didn't allow any warp. . I was able to warp out after almost losing all shields or at 1/2 armor at about the same time it would've took for the disruptors he was running to complete the first cycle I was able to finally warp out which I assume is due to either running out of cap but if I remember correctly. During the OBT. Disruptors had a timer after each cycle before you can activate it again giving a very small window of seconds between cycles allowing you to warp out. I knew I couldn't do PVP with the device. Too much lag and barely running the level 4/5 sites and surviving because of the lag. Of it was PVP no way of me surviving and die before getting a few actions done . I'd be lucky to even get 1-2 volleys off before getting blown because of the time it took to have completed locking on a target to appear Which had a 10-25 seconds delay at times for even seeing any commands including approach to register. I already knew that I would have no chance of doing more than giving them target practice on any PVP. So I mostly just Didi Indy and hauling. Even built my first TFI after mining the ore for the minerals and the collected the pi which I had the skills for mining 2 planets at a time. While my skills had been focused on hauling and small minmatar ships and very little on mining itself since I avoided low sec as much as possible and high sec was still very crowded during the OBT that the belts were usually being mined by multiple people by the time you land on a belt. I'm using an iPhone XR for EE and rarely experience lag to the point of it being a significant threat during pvp. It's more common to experience it crashing then to be lagged. However I definitely know if the amount of ram and cache were to go up from a large increase in the number of processes that needed to be running in 1 system for a similar system of scanning that is used in EO. That if I was in a system during a fleet Battle with the system having the max number of players in it. If my phone was still able to continue running the game thw moment I'm in the system. It's almost guaranteed that I would be dead before I even see my ship coming out of warp due to the delay from the amount of lag I'd have Which would probably be about the same as the lag experienced in Jita when OBT launched and the devs had to do an emergency shutdown on the first day to fix it.

    I guess that depends how you define Solo content, i've taken a Venture into a low level Nihilus Compressed space to get me some space rocks, i've also taken a ceptor into into another Nihilus Compressed space and found me some pvp content. This was all solo.
    Additionally, Can you provide some feedback to the devs. Stop the red scanner (forget the name) from picking up opened structures or fleet members (haven't confirmed fleet members yet). I live in a system that's fully populated with structures and it's basically impossible to scan down enemies if they enter because I get 7+ signals I need to decipher each time.
