Interesting show about Australian cricket. By the way I think that the English should help cricket grow in Europe, especially the celtic nations. Wales, Scotland and Ireland should be helped to be as good as New Zealand. Scotland and Ireland should have teams in the County championship like Wales have in Glamorgan. England should also help Poland, Greece, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany to have strong cricket sides.
Wales has a team in the County Championship because the ECB is actually the England & Wales Cricket Board, governing cricket in both England and Wales, hence why there is no Welsh national cricket team

Wow this how a team manager should be like. he decides who will be playing based on the game played. so we see most of the players in Australian team as match winners. u have to run them all of them out. Even the world top batsmen like smith and world top bowler like starc are not guaranteed sometimes unlike other countries. This is really tough and that is why they are world champions very often not like once a decade world champions.

No offense to him, but as an average ish bowler in a quality bowling attack to be able to be there with the Australian team for an english summer where you retain the ashes must be a pretty darn good experience.

Australians pick their team from their best available players by giving a pre-match.
That's not true. Indians are picked on their first class performances, and so are Australians. Warner is probably the only exception. India does not hand out caps very easily. Young players have to be consistent for 2-3 seasons before being picked.

If you are talking about hit and giggle cricket, then blame the selectors and Kohli for playing merry go round. Batting positions have little specific meaning in ODIs. If you can have a good number 3 or number 5, you have a good number 4. Do you really think there aren't 4 good batsman in all of India??
And currently I believe Shreyas Iyer plays there. And I have actually watched him bat for Mumbai. Watched the likes of Jaffer, Rahane, Rohit bat in person too, and this lad Iyer is top quality just like those 3. (And he still can't get a Test cap, that's shows how hard it is to get selected for India).

200 years goes by, and I still can't stop looking at an Australian squad and thinking, how many oranges their ancestors stole which resulted in such a horrendous punishment? Cruel times indeed. Fancy not being able to live without air conditioning for over half the year, permanently banished to such a God forsaken corner of the planet, and forced to marry something as certifiably insane as an Australian women.
Then having to learn cricket and go through such a rigorous selection process just so you can get away from her, and be allowed back to relative civilisation for a few weeks? No wonder Australian cricketers are so mean and hungry to get on an Ashes Tour. What I don't understand is why they agree to go back to Australia when it was so clearly hard to break out, and so finally return home.
Because they realise after spending a few months in dreary England just how good Australia and its women are. The women have teeth and the weather is awesome 9 months of the year.
