If I want to participate in special round without loosing the current seat do I have to freeze the seat or i don't have to do anything. Good evening Sir i am doing b.tech in Electrical and electronic & M.tech in safety and occupational health enginnering from (IIEST) and applying for phd for IIT Kharagpur and selected in department of Centre of Excellence in Safety Engineering and Analytics for PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering. After completed phd Carrer in government professor /lecture job any problem occurred in feature.
But if you get seat in special counselling it will automatically reject the regular round seat . So be careful to select a better seat in special round . Lene ke dene naa par jaaye 🙂

You can go into the special round. But you can only get a choice which is not your 1st preference😅. And the chances of that happening are very high because you have a high enough gate score to get NIT Tirchy CS in 1st round itself. In my opinion wait upto 3rd round in CCMT while also waiting for COAP special rounds. If you convert IIT then well and good. Surrender your Tirchy seat and get your money back at the end of 3rd round itself. If you do not get IIT then stick to this seat. NIT Tirchy has a much deeper network than any of the new IITs. But again if you get an old IITs then it may be worth it to lose the 40000 I guess🙂
