sizzorfite on ebay makes the best bamboo root shakahachi and for the best price!! His flute resonates a warm and peaceful tune better than any "Japanese Master" can make!!
You obviously have played for less than 2 years. After that you find the limits of sizzorfit. They ARE cheap, and they are a good start, but the several that i have do not come even close to professional flutes, whether japanese or wherever! Actually, aside from a few very famous, maybe overpriced famous makers, the price of shakuhachis is a pretty good indicator of the quality. Perry Yung sells 'reconditioned' Japanese flutes, which are accurately priced by quality... And, there is an extra added to price of a beautiful, dense, piece of bamboo.
Sizzorfite some times make flute not too bad..i'ved buyed some when i begin shakuhachi...but you can't say he makes better shak in the world: i'm sure you're not try some real good shak from real professional maker's: japonase or from other cuntry.

Yes, that's important. The outer diameter of the upper part of this Jinashi tube is 30 mm, and the inner diameter is 18 mm.
