Good Lord... that mulcher is absolutely WICKED..that is by far the best clearing tool i have ever seen.. better even than a really good pan type brush hog.. wow!
You also helped the new owner find water on his land. He can use or fill it in properly now. Even if he needs a well drilled that helps locate the water table. My dad had an old well on his camp property. He never reopened it even when retiring there. This is just one of the me many ways you open land to new uses.
Man that gives me chills !! That could have been a totally different day if he would have fallen in that !! Thank goodness all is well ! Thanks guys for the video and a nice job ! Keep us posted if you do anything else on this job , I/we would like to see if you do . 🇺🇸👍🏻
Dad said when exploring an old homesite to always look out for the well. I stepped on one that had old boards with God knows how many years of leaves on it. I only went down about 4 feet as it had been partially filled but it put the fear of holes into me. We live out here in Gowensville and have an old hand dug well that at one time was about 30 feet deep. It was dry so I have been slowly filling it in with dirt and rocks. I literally broke out in a cold sweat as you lowered that GoPro down but I couldn't stop watching! You guys be careful out there! Terry from South Carolina
I've seen a 65 foot dry hole in the crawl space under a kitchen in the Travelers Rest area. If I remember correctly it had something to do with hiding the ingredients for alcohol production during prohibition days. It was about 4 feet wide and dry as a bone. All hand dug. Cool find. Glad you stayed looking down at it and not looking up and out of it.
That well is TOO DEEP. That's how deep it is. My God, Josh, so glad you were rewarded on this one. That hole should be filled in. Happy holidays to all of you and man was this a close one! Play safe. Sonny (CT)
Hey my (ProCrew) ,John, Josh and Willie. I have not committed on the other two videos but I have time to today. I just been busy with my doctors. But I'm so thankful that Josh did not fall into that well and hurt himself thank the Lord for that,or anybody else. N I think it between 15ft deep. N y'all had me LMBO,when Josh was acting like he had a big fish on there, ooh it's a big one , it's a big one. KMSL 😁. I enjoyed my favorite Crew yet again.but y'all be blessed and safe . I luv my Pro Crew. I'm Bama Queen Victoria Byrd. Till next show.
This machine is so awesome! Must be so much fun to drive it and oh my gosh, chops over trees really well. I know this is so much labor intensified, but it looks like alot of fun! You must so really love your job. The end results are awesome!
Well, literally ~ well ~ at least it is dry. Depth, 92 ft. by the "SWAG" method. Was concerned and glad the thing didn't cave in while on top there looking down. Was really a surprise for y'all.
Thirty-plus years ago I was running a tree-planting crew near Bingham, Maine and decided to explore an adjoining area that had come up entirely in third-growth Black Spruce. Having never been thinned, the crowns of the trees, which were six to eight feet apart, had grown together, blotting out the sun, and none of them were more than six inches in diameter. I found myself walking in a shadowy "netherland" and all sound was absorbed by the thick layer of pine needles on the ground. I kept turning around to keep an eye on my red pickup truck, which kept dwindling in size. It was my only, "reference point"- it would be all too easy to get lost in there, as everything looked exactly the same no matter which way you looked. I soon started seeing the remnants of stone walls, half-buried in the duff; I then stumbled across several pits which obviously were cellar-holes and realized I was walking through what used to be small farms and the attendant farmhouses. The strangest thing I saw was a "ghost" apple orchard, the trees long dead from being shaded out and covered in lichen. It was about this time that it occurred to me, "What if I fall into an old well?" My crew had gone back to their camp; I was on my own, and we'd finished the adjoining tract so no one would be coming back there for a while. I gingerly picked my way back to my truck, avoiding every depression in the ground. I remembered a true story I'd heard when we were working down South, of how a forester had fallen into an old well while out "cruising timber" in a pine plantation: the only thing that saved his ass was that he wasn't alone and his partner went looking for him after he didn't come back to their truck.
As always a awesome job. Man I wish I could afford to have ya'll come to my place. 10.3 Acres of small pine and small oaks. Pines are starting to get infested with pine beetles. Ya'll always go above and beyond. That has always been a dream of mine is to run equipment. Thank God Josh was okay. That well seemed pretty deep.
Have you ever thought of doing a video on the beetles and how it affects your trees, your area, and your home? Link in maybe fire risk and perhaps safety too?
I say 62 feet... Am I sure am glad that none of ya'lls fell in there ! 👍🏼 Man, if I win I'll probably be the very first person to wear an Upstate Brush Control hat in Paris, France ! 😄
Judging from the time from drop till hit, im estimating that well to be about 85' deep and dry as a bone. (Estimate was made about half eay through the vid, the 2nd time you dropped a branch in) That would hurt when you found bottom. That being said, yall have a kick-a** job and an excellent job of undergrowth clearing. Wish I could get into a gig like that up here in central Illinois. Keep the vids comming. Love em.
I just found this channel and have been binge watching all evening. I was guessing 60' but I was wrong lol. Anyways, time for me to subscribe to this channel
57 feet......looked like remains of foot valve pipes were still in the bottom of the well. Early well walls were sometimes plastered with cement to make a lining.
My guess is 55’ 6”. Also you may want to check the Brush Rake that Cotontop3 has on his Mini. It sure does a job on pulling out small trees and brush. Merry Christmas and God Bless
Years ago, my dad said that he and my grandpa hand dug a well, and for whatever reason, the rope fell in, or was pulled up, so they had to lock arms back to back and walk out of the well. I'm sure that it was an arduous climb.
It was hilarious watching you two having so much fun. I expected a giant black spider to start crawling up to get you! 😂😝🤣. I wonder if the owner knew about it. I think it was 22 ft deep! 🥰👍❤️
Always like to see a place cleaned up. Bet that well is DEEP being it was dug on top of a hill. Found a lot of stuff while I was in the logging business(drove a truck). Found an old civil war cemetary the forrester missed. It was on an old home site and unmarked. Not trying to be nosy but what are your hourly mulching rates? Here in Ga they run about 150.00 an hour. 100 ft on the well......
Hi Jon, just getting into forestry mulching here. Do you bolt your mulcher head to your attachment plate like FECON recommends? Also, your thoughts on the knife tools vs the carbide tools. Assuming you like the knives better. Thanks!
My guess is about 70 feet. But it's not a well. It is a Cisturn cause if y'all have had as much rain as we have had then it should have water in it. Sense the house it was attached to is no longer standing then there is no way for it to get water.
What kind of company should I look for that would use a bobcat style machine like this and a mulcher? I inherited my uncles property and English ivy has taken over the yards with huge roots. This would make easy work of it.
Praise the Lord is right if he would’ve fell down there would’ve been a sad story but God watches over his own so I pray that you guys are his property amen
Do you charge by the hour or by the job, if you were mulching and area that was easy access and 400 ft by 50 Ft what would you charge. The area is adjacent to saltwater marsh.
It all depends on the terrain, location of the job, and type of material we're working with. Every job is different. You need to charge enough to cover your expenses (i.e. fuel, insurance, workman's comp, taxes, etc).
Our family has lived in Travelers Rest for almost 200 years. A few still do. It always seems like home to me. Mama had a sign that said "If you can't see Paris Mountain from where you are, then you're too far from home" Are yall on Tubb's mountain?
Brings me back to when I was first starting out as a plumber. I had to run a water line in a crawl space under an older home. I kept crawling over some old pieces of plywood that was lying down there. to my surprize it was a well about 42 feet. Lets just say the boss got an ear full at the end of the day... like they say with age comes wisdom and now I know not to walk or climb over things that I don't know what's below them. Glad erevyone is safe
That is a scary find. Common curtesy would have been to mark the abandoned well. Two to three seconds before the wood hit the bottom of the well, right? Sixty-four feet is two seconds and one-hundred is two and a half seconds; over sixty-five feet for sure.
I would love to get a metal detector and search around that place - some place that old you never know what you could find. With that being hand dug like that maybe even civil war stuff
That was fun to watch
One of my most fav UBC videos. "I think I found a well!". Like two kids finding treasure. So fun. Loved the music too!
Good Lord... that mulcher is absolutely WICKED..that is by far the best clearing tool i have ever seen.. better even than a really good pan type brush hog.. wow!
Love your attention to detail…very impressive.
65 ft neat work always, clean up are amazing

42 ft good job protecting from it.

Glad Josh was okay. At first I thought it was a septic as our was dug with love and covered with wood ... it got old an rotten.
I would guess around 35 feet. Glad no one got hurt. Stay safe.
Way cool !!! I would love to medal detector that area. Thank you for sharing.
So glad he didn't fall in, glad it had a concrete top and not just wood. I'll say 58 ft
I would say 47 feet. love watching you clear property and how nice it looks after you finish.. keep up the good work and stay safe.
Well, literally ~ well ~ at least it is dry. Depth, 92 ft. by the "SWAG" method.
Was concerned and glad the thing didn't cave in while on top there looking down. Was really a surprise for y'all.
Very cool video of the well discovery!
Just for giggles I will say 65’
Have you put an update about the well? Like how many feet deep is it? When will you be showing more about the well? Thanks
That was scary! The Lord has a protector shield around you guys for sure. 😎
On a good note, you guys even made the well hole look nice.
Yes, He did!
Man that would scare the heck out o me finding that in the woods. Glad y’all are safe. My guess is 72’.
Aww man I thought you had found an old mine shaft or an old WWII bunker. I enjoy your videos, keep them coming. I say 60 feet deep.
99 to start It might be around 50 to 55 feet. Sure glad you didn't find it the hard way. you leave all jobs 100% better . Keep em coming

awesome guys... 27 feet.. I thought it would be deeper at first. . Wild to find a well in the middle of the woods lol.
I run across them all the time when hunting.
Too funny 🤣..." If something grabs this"
Nice video... lots of rompin' and chompin'....I say 79 feet deep for the well
That is amazing what that bush grinder will do. That well would have challenged your insurance company.
Hope you have a good fire extinguisher with you. Looks really cool, it eats everything. Great work

That could have been really bad if Josh fell in that well thank you Jesus for saving him

that was a well filmed timelapse
hi guys great find I reckon its about 48ft 6in keep up the great work

Great video as usual & glad you didn’t find any bones.
Was really hoping to see some bones
I just found this channel and have been binge watching all evening. I was guessing 60' but I was wrong lol. Anyways, time for me to subscribe to this channel
42" deep. great work guys!

That sounds rough!
@@UpstateBrushControl that was a lot of years ago, and drawing water with a bucket is far from common any more.
It was hilarious watching you two having so much fun. I expected a giant black spider to start crawling up to get you! 😂😝🤣. I wonder if the owner knew about it. I think it was 22 ft deep! 🥰👍❤️
46 feet! Happy your both safe!
Scary stuff guys. That well gave me the willies! Glad you guys are safe. I'm guessing 54' 9". ... God Bless
Love the videos keep up the good work 73 feet on the well
My guess is 95'. I enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!
💯 feet at least in the well 🤞crossed my fingers I was close to guessing how deep the well was
21:10 Start of well being found.
You guys should really bring a metal detector out there.
600ft

That was fun to watch,Stay safe, IM guessing that hole is 110 feet deep lol
Guess 78 feet!! Great job boys. Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧
Almost looks like there is a connecting tunnel off to the right.
Probably the connection to the old spring or underground river it was fed from.
Mine shaft, air vent?
Old outhouse spot?
Wow that was deep well
Josh has the cutest smile! 😊
1. Good job. Again.
2. You guys are goofballs.
3. Sending a GoPro down the well? That's some good YouTubin'.
They say if walls could talk ... what about if the land could talk ... wonder who lived there before and if any descendants are still around
78 feet. Better hope I don’t win as the postage to down under Australia will be high.
Dave Brisbane Aus.
Hi Jon, just getting into forestry mulching here. Do you bolt your mulcher head to your attachment plate like FECON recommends? Also, your thoughts on the knife tools vs the carbide tools. Assuming you like the knives better. Thanks!
No we don't bolt our head we are always switching back and forth cutter head bucket forks... Where I'm at knives are the only way to go.
My guess is about 70 feet. But it's not a well. It is a Cisturn cause if y'all have had as much rain as we have had then it should have water in it. Sense the house it was attached to is no longer standing then there is no way for it to get water.
27 feet 4 inches. Regards from Scotland.
56ft. I keep thinking of things I want to say so I’ll shut up 😁. I love this channel !!
Im gonna guess 58'. Pretty cool and very dangerous. How far was it cut back under the concrete cap?
What kind of company should I look for that would use a bobcat style machine like this and a mulcher? I inherited my uncles property and English ivy has taken over the yards with huge roots. This would make easy work of it.
I'm sort of new at this, but don't wells usually have water at the bottom? Could that be the reason why they gave up on it? My guess is 38 feet deep.
I so wanted to see that stick come flying back out the hole lol
Scaerrry
I would say 53 feet deep. Great video's as always
how much would one of these machines cost with all the stuff u got on them? btw great video
That well like that could leave a “ skid mark” in/on your shouts.
Yeah.. Job WELL done.
Im going with 44 feet . Im just trying to figure out how deep it was before a lot of dirt washed in there
Gonna say 87' 6". Y'all need the Aguachigger to go down there ;o)
Whew...That could have been a killer! Glad Josh did not tumble down, because that aint no looking glass!!! 94.5 feet is my guess...:-)
I’m gonna guess 66’. Great job!
So close!!!!!
Praise the Lord is right if he would’ve fell down there would’ve been a sad story but God watches over his own so I pray that you guys are his property amen
You're funny, like a couple of kids scaring rhe bejeezus out of yourselves.
Why would you not fill the well in ? You have the equipment and plenty of dirt.
Did you find my mind down there?,... I lost it a few years ago.
And to this very day, every potential project interview ends with, "Are you aware of any wells on the property?"
Follow up question "No...for real"
Need to check for a date on the concrete.
64 ft i would have loved for something to have run by the go pro down there lol.
62 feet i think. Cool find
Greetings from England 🏴. 63ft would be my guess.
Great video, looks like 62 feet

From 80 feet 120 ft
That is a scary find. Common curtesy would have been to mark the abandoned well. Two to three seconds before the wood hit the bottom of the well, right? Sixty-four feet is two seconds and one-hundred is two and a half seconds; over sixty-five feet for sure.
I counted between 2 and 2.5 seconds for the fall time, so that is between 64 and 100 feet. Those are pretty rough measurements, though.
gerat video guys once again and I am going to guess @ 38 feet
what is this hole? ventilation shaft?
I'd say it is about 40' nice find ha
I would say, about seventy feet. John Hutson
Have you thought about getting the disk grinder for jobs like that
that well is 43ft 6 inches?
I would love to get a metal detector and search around that place - some place that old you never know what you could find. With that being hand dug like that maybe even civil war stuff
69 ft
77 feet, thank God he saw that before stepping off into it!
Where can you get one of y’all’s hats they are cool?
