Another sensational shoot, especially the feral cats. Your professional techniques and use of excellent equipment are a testament to your skills and overall professionalism. Keep it up. Love your work.
Big thanks Nathan. You just saved countless native animal lives in this shoot only. Love the rig and excellent production skills too! Big cheers from Sydney - Dave (brought up in the Outback)
tremendous job you are doing, this is very educational and should be made mandatory viewing for 15 to 16 year olds to show the reality of what needs to be done. We are at war with pests and invasive species. Great job, thank you.
Great stuff Nathan Foxes and Cats all you needed was a wild dog to get the trifecta but a great night all the same .It's a shame that so many people don't understand the damage these things do to our wildlife in Australia keep up the good work mate.
That was one devastating head shot on that fox! Great shooting again, especially with a couple of feral cats removed from our environment. Very interesting using the Ebike, gives me some ideas. Happy hunting!
Bountiful outing to be sure Nathan, the farmers should be pleased with that night's clean up! Thanks for taking these videos,..very entertaining to viewers like me, and I appreciate this. Thumbs Up indeed!
Sounds like the perfect transport for a night out in the paddock. The ferals might not recognise the sound, they are used to diesels. Better than hiking up and down hills all night, we have plenty of those up in Queensland.
Got to love feral cat and fox control, especially that fox that lost his mind! And the Ebike is a bit of a game changer too eh? Always entertaining Nath 👍
Agreed! I have a bit of a soft spot for foxes, although I completely understand why they need to be taken in this context. Cats however . . . cats gotta go.
Nice set up on the e-bike.A good night on the pest control ,certainly enough of them around! and you are right, always a good feeling when you drop a feral cat.Looking forward for the next video.
My favourite pest controller! Excellent shooting as usual mate. Good job on the kitties. A lot of people don't understand the damage those buggers do to the native wildlife. Also, great idea positioning the cats (or posing them) post mortem to look like they're peacefully sleeping. Very serial killer-esque.
I love the stealth mode with the bike there Nathan, even some of the foxes like it as they're smiling whilst having a little lie down after lead poisoning. That fox sure had a splitting headache 'ay LOL!
Great vid. On one level the ebike makes so much sense and on another, from experience and particularly at night the ebike is a slip away from a major spinal cord injury-be careful!!.
Awesome… ebikes really appeal to me for hunting. I’ve used motorcycles to move between spots, and as a young guy used my peddle bike to great effect for years. The thing about the ebikes is ability to have larger tire, and carry some gear which if peddling can be limiting. I’ve been using electric motors on my fishing boats since 1985, and they’ve only gotten better since then. The noise from gas motors is a nuisance. And yes canoe’s, and peddles work but you can’t carry any weight any distance. We’ve got some big lakes, and long roads in Canada,,a little lectric power is luxurious!
Haha. The Borg on a Bike.. Nice going, had your eye in. Those bikes make a lot of sense and ease of getting about. Keen to see more of how you go with it..
I watch a lot of hunting videos and I'm impressed with the quality of your productions, very professional. I can see you do a lot of time consuming after hunt work.
I mean this is what we used to do before we got "domesticated" and just buy food from the groceries and just be inside all day, anyway loved the content here, its rare to find a hunting channel with a quality as good as this channel, so keep the hunt going man
Love your videos, very educational for me as a new shooter, I really appreciate your content. As a very long time mountain biker I can give a bit back on your squeaky when wet brake problem. After a water crossing just lightly drag them for a couple of hundred metres to get some heat into them, that should stop them squeaking when you next pull up to attend to your next feral pest.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK G'Day Nathan. I don't know if the bike has hydraulic brakes or cable brakes. If it's got cables, here's what happened to me one day, going down a steep hill. BOTH front and rear cables BROKE. I had to stop the bike by dragging my feet ! I changed to hydraulic (about AU$300) and have never had an issue since.
Before I got old & fat I tried a mountain bike out near Burke. Worked a treat because it was so quiet & you could just step off it & shoot. The worry was often you were right in the mob before you saw them. Very close shooting. Main problem was cateye burrs would put so many punctures in your tyres it was new tubes every day.Even with tyre protectors in. My Kelpies woudn't jump out of the truck without a good look around.
Swap your tubes for a tubeless setup. Unlike cars mountain bike tubeless includes a liquid sealant which seals small holes say 2-3mm. Should have no problem with cat eyes. Your local bike shop should be able to sort you out
It’s handy to have reflective tape on items, farm gates and cnr posts. Once my grey Ferguson ran out of fuel in a paddock, f’n came back & couldn’t find it, with a bit of mist in the night air! Had to go back the next morning. It now has some reflective tape.
That e-bike is awesome, I think because it's so quiet the foxes and the feral cats really had no idea that you were there considering the amount of animals you put down on this shoot. Obviously the wind direction is going to be a factor as it always will be, but the e-bike is very quiet and stealthy. That fox at 6 metres 😲 it literally exploded! Great video, and as usual bloody good shooting mate. Really enjoyed that video. Have an awesome day. 🗡️🇦🇺🗡️
As for the squeaky brakes, maybe try applying the brakes as soon as you get out of the water. That should dry the brakes and hopefully stop the squeak when it matters. Top video as usual.
I find the pads have dust on them and need a quick rub on wet n dry or something. I haven't tried brake kleen but it might work without removing the pads. I've had an electric mountain bike for a couple of years now done about 5500km.
Love it! Environmentally effective eradication of Aussie ferals. Creeping up and blowing them away without a noise ; even the animal protection league would be impressed. Cheers mate.
I kinda thought the bike would be a brilliant platform for hunting feral animals. The only thing I thought was the whine from the motor might draw their attention. But I guess if the sound is entirely foreign to them, compared to a quad or 4WD, or motorbike, they really wouldn't care. As you've alluded to, they're great for open ground like that stuff you were working in. I could see this being useful as a photography platform for twitchers and other wildlife photographers. Same needs as a professional shooter. Stealth. If I had the budget, I'd strap one of these to my ute for when I'm traveling again. I could park up out of town somewhere and use the bike to get supplies. Or, I could use it to scout overgrown tracks in the middle of nowhere. I have the solar setup to charge it, so it would be a quieter, more 'friendly' option than a small motorbike.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Yeah, I found that out on my latest upload. I had the background music quite low, and the stereo system was inside the bus (I was outside) but the sub was on. So the bus amplified the sound to the point that it was blatantly there. I might look at one when my Super comes through.

Squeaky brakes when wet can be a nuisance. Can be made worse if the pad is worn or there is dust on the pads. We are currently trying a new product to see if that helps.
Stealth I was thinking. But I did noticed a slight whine when you were riding it. That red light is the ticket in total dark. What gun are you shooting this night. Still great video, good info I had been looking into e bike. For hunting outings, my big concern was how it would be on off road handling, it looks pretty good. Yours is pretty rigged out. about how much can be expected to pay, just a guess, I am in the states.
You can get these exact bikes from Frey in the USA 👌. It's really quiet, the noise you hear is directly on the bike with all the close rattles etc right next to the camera.

To fix the brake squeak. It can be caused by pad wear. Try realigning the calliper so it is more central to the rotor and that may help ;-)
