  • In order to be successful at AFSPECWAR Assessment and Selection, you have to be SUPREMELY motivated. We have been asked time and time again, "What motivates you guys?" Well, you asked, and we answered.
Back at it again, the whole crew riffs on about 400 different topics- the main one we use to jump off to all the rest is the age-old question: "What motivates you? How about in times of stress? What motivates you at the end of your career?" Aaron, Brian, Peaches and Trent talk what motivates them individually, what type of motivation they see in successful Air Force Special Warfare Assessment and Selection candidates,
As always, the Ones Ready team got to flapping their gums with each other and ended up hitting a ton of other topics as well- support from your family and going your own way, the importance of good training partners (and how to be one), why being good at admin stuff is important, and the possibility of Trent calling you a darned liar for texting at the gym.
We cover a ton of ground in this one, and there are tons of hidden gems. We hope you enjoy this week's episode here, in the Ones Ready Team Room!!!

I would just like to thank all of you for EVERYTHING you do, if it hadn't been for ones ready I would not be where I am today, my stumbling upon your channel has honestly probably saved my life.
Just six months ago i was 230, lost without purpose in life, and racking up debt with my landlord. I couldn't hold a job, perhaps it was because I wasnt trying hard enough, but atleast personally it just felt like any job I took was completely meaningless and I hated it.
Then I stumbled upon your channel, and I think the video itself was the SR interview with MSgt Lewis, and I was immediately hooked, I knew from that video onward that my goal in life was to be in AFSW.
Since that moment I am proud to say that I have been steadily improving every day, Im stronger than I have ever been, Im faster and better at running that I have ever been, and I am the lowest weight I have been since I was 16, weighing in at 195.
So thank you to Brian, for the amazing workout routines that I wish I was much better at following, and thank you to Aaron, Brian, Trent and Peaches for this amazing channel and bringing all the amazing people and resources to people like me.

You guys are my motivation. Definitely makes grinding everyday to exceed the standard easier when we have so many tools available to us that you guys have provided/talked about/lead us to. Won’t let the team down.

I haven't watched the full video yet, but I think I can add to this. 100 million others and I had a been selected for the pipeline. But I had more motivation, drive, and physical performance than all of them. I don't think I was the fastest in A&S but once I was selected, I was the last one standing. What I'm trying to say is, you're all winners from jump. Don't loose that winner mentality! Get out there and put out! Think of those hundred of millions that didn't win; can you remember them? Nope, cause they're loosers who didn't put out! Look at us now, surround by either winners or cheaters. NOW, GET OUT THERE SWIMMERS AND PROVE YOU'RE ONE OF THE WINNERS!

I just wanted to add my two cents. I got all the dangerous job stuff out of my system when I was 17 to 21. I quit parachuting .and doing dangerous assignments. Like most of you, I liked the head rush from these type assignments, but there is a time to STOP! You need to let others have a chance. I have five kids. by being their father they had a chance to do exciting things too. One of my sons just retired as a Lt Colonel from the USAF. He did interesting things sometimes with JASOC, etc; but he also knows that there is a time to fade out and let the next generation have their chance. Me, I miss the fun and danger of my younger life, but I loved getting to do other things and making a lot more MONEY. You will also find a lot of fun and satisfaction in doing that. Just remember you can't be Peter Pan forever!!

I think one of my motivations is that nobody In my family has done anything like being a special warfare operator and I have the the opportunity to be someone really great and do cool shit with my life why would I have a mediocre life when my life could be awesome and I won’t give up because the pain is temporary Ill be thinking about how I shouldn’t have quit forever

To motivate myself, I always remember when I cheated on my girlfriend; I think about how awful I was to her and how good she is to me, she deserves the world and how am I supposed to give her that if I can't complete this workout?
