He is unfortunately completely outclassed in this situation. At the moment LeBrun is threatening to become as dominant as the Chinese, he is an absolute beast. I don't see Simon winning this matchplay unless he gets really really lucky and plays completely differently.
Gauzy's style is somewhat similar to Xuxin's in that he has a high level of spectacle, which is due to his weaker offense, which makes them easy to be on the receiving end of.
This is great table tennis. I've got one question. If I'm serving to you and i contact the ball at a point above the table, but forward of the backline on my side of the table, is that a "good" serve? I see many of the best players currently doing it. Is the referee supposed to enforce the rule stating contact must be made behind my side's backline when I'm serving? In this match all of Simon Gauzy's serves were by the rules. Nearly all of Felix Lebrun's serves violated the service rule as he contacts the ball clearly forward of the backline. He clearly learned this when training in China.
11:53 I would like to know more about this perspective of the "ever rebellious" style that the commentator mentioned. As a new player to the sport, I am starting to identify with this attitude myself. Some coaches dont even want to train me because they are offended. Is there anyone in the comment section that feel they can explain this style further, and what you have to do to nourish it?
probably just any style or gameplay that isn't "correct" in modern table tennis i.e. moving further back from the table instead of advancing and attacking every ball (like Felix or Alexis). Simon compared to most modern top players does some very unconventional shots and takes risky positions far more.
@farmiap правда, правда. Может быть, он даже не столько на Феликса злобно посмотрел, сколько не смог скрыть досаду за очередной, проиграный Феликсу, матч.
dude literally everyone uses illegal serves against everyone, and they are all using boosted rackets etc. We know. Until the officials decide to do anything about it everyone will continue as they are.

Them two always deliver
Гози играет в зрелищный теннис. Даже когда проигрывает. Поэтому я его матчи смотрю полностью, а не пролистываю.
they had the exact same pairing last year in the exact same tournament and round
Didn't they just play against each other in the last tournament they were in?
Yes

Felix machine 💪
My best table tennis player in the world is Felix Labrum
ゴジがすぐ下がるのに対してフェリックスは常に前陣で攻めてて、完全に新時代と旧時代の卓球だった
Gauzy can still play well but he often ends up well back from the table against younger opponents.
Come on why the side angle ? This makes no sense. Have you seen a badminton or tennis match from the side angle ? World Table Tennis what is this ?!
again, no use in complaining. it’s very obviously to show the sponsors
@ the sponsors can kiss my shoes. Tennis and badminton don’t have sponsors? Do you ever see side angles with them ?
best angle ever!
cmon this angle is much better than others.. can truly see distances
@ you don’t know table tennis at all.
Oh, come on man, Simon, when will you finally beat Felix??😅

Penhold gang checking in.
Maaan they face each other often and so early. Bad luck with the draw.

Bad camera angle 🤮🤬
At least they proud of who they are and exclaimed in French instead of Chinese.
Félix still yells "cho" and "cho le"
Spolier block
Can’t watch side angle crap.
350 Euro for a ticket? No wonder the players are playing in an empty stadium.
That's horrendous 😢 anything over 30 is travesty.
What? A day ticket for the finals is 50€. On Tuesday it's 22€. Where did you get 350 from? Did someone scam you?
350 for the full tournament? Not for one day?
