Thanks for the awesome knowledge drop on the California Edition. I have a 1990 Cali Edition and will be displaying it next month at the World Of Wheels in Birmingham, AL with the Saleen Club Of America. Steve Saleen will be there and I will definitely have him to sign the dash. If he doesn’t I’ll settle with Goodies autograph. 😅
I bought a brand new Reef blue silver trim Gt Mustang in 93 and bought a lot of saleen parts made my own GT Sport. I didn't know of about the California gt. Keep up with the videos.
Thanks so much. I've been building and owning mustang for a long time and have had a couple Saleens and never knew these existed!!! So interesting. Mr Steve doesn't get the respect he should!!!
@@PuristMotorsports Its crazy because I never knew that and I'm a Steve Saleen fan since the late 80s and early 90s because back then it was definitely the most beautiful mustangs built at that time are at least TO ME!!! Thanks for your Content and response 💯
Thanks for tuning in! It’s good to know there are others around. We do know of one in another collection. They are cool and unique cars. Rare and mostly unknown at this point in time. That’s changing though.
Definitely have to get them all together that would be so cool! I remember looking online about 12 years ago and there 0 information on them. I even called saleen and they couldn’t tell me anything. So to see this video is really cool and makes me happy having a part of history!
@@PuristMotorsports I AM VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE MY 87 GT T TOP CAR AND MY 92 LX DEEP EMERALD GREEN AND MY VIBRANT RED 93 COBRA BUT I REALLY LIKE TO ADD A 89 or 90 WHITE MUSTANG GT BLACK CLOTH INTERIOR 5 spd WITH A SUNROOF.
Here’s a little info from a thread on a Saleen forum. They are not widely known. I know of one gentleman restoring one. saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?t=3395
How the times have changed, These says if Ford released a "California edition" cars it would just mean it had half the HP of the base model and cost triple because of the emission systems lol And probably have one of those new style gas cans that don't work in the back for some reason lol
Awesome ride, thanks for sharing

Haha!! Can’t wait for that show brother. We’ll get to hang with you and all the other goofballs.
Always been a dream fox of mine. I love the subtle saleen upgrades and it's story.

Very nice fox
Very cool. I knew nothing about this car, it's far more rare than the serialized models.
Never heard that story about the glut of white GTs in 1989. Great info and beautiful car.
Great car, nice to see one of those!

Lots of hidden gems out there. Saleen also had their hands in the Ford GT production.

Thanks for tuning in! We really enjoy these conversations.
Thanks for sharing this guys. It was cool hearing about a more collectible car that Saleen put his touch on. Kudos!
Very cool car!
Now I’m down an acid rain rabbithole 😂
Great video as always, thanks guys!
So awesome to finally see a video on these! I have one and thought I was the only one that had still had one. Great video

@@tapathletics2543Are you interested in selling it ? I’m from the Bay Area, CA & currently looking for one!
Man I need a set of those tires!!
Interesting, thanks for the video.
Wow, never heard of these. Very cool. Thank you for sharing this
Thanks for watching!
Sounds a little along the lines of the small run of supposedly unsold SSP coupes that became Saleens. Would love to hear from PAS about that story.
I almost bought one of those back in 2007 on ebay. I got outbid at the last minute, biggest heartbreak ever...
Wow never knew of these.
My dad still has his bought new at Suburban Ford in Sacramento.
How much did it add to the cost of a GT?
Good question. Mark will have to chime in on this.
@@PuristMotorsports I have the paperwork with the car but I believe $3995
@@PuristMotorsports I LOVE THE RIMS LOL A FRIEND OF MINE BACK IN THE DAY HAD THE EXACT COLOR AND WITH THOSE RIMS AND HE WRECKED IT.

Wrecked was the fate of many a Fox Mustang. Mostly because they wouldn’t stop good. 😂
Are you guys 9 feet tall? This looks like a miniature next to you lol! Beautiful car!!!
Yes… yes we are. We missed our calling to be basketball players. 😂🤣
For the life of me, I can't find any info on the GT Sport y'all talked about in the video. Does anyone have any outside info?

Didn’t the ASC McLaren’s come with those wheels?
They used a different mesh wheel. Similar in design. But not exactly the same.

Oh man…. Rabbit hole ignited!! New style gas cans are a joke for sure. I spill out more than I ever did with any of the previous simple designs.
Acid rain 😂
