    Basic fantasy!
I use BFRPG but im not opposed to using other rules. Basic Fantasy has 2 bestiaries plus what's in the Core Rules. The 4th edition has The Barklings monsters, if you want cute and furry creatures the barklings are perfect.
I haven't used Castles and Crusades but ive heard good things.
I don't know how easy or hard it'll be to convert monsters from either system, i suspect alot of homebrew will be needed.
Thanks for the video, it's nice seeing other channels talking about BF and i like knowing what other systems i can use for my table.

I use Basic Fantasy monsters and even entire adventures in my ShadowDark game.

Let me know if you tried Quasi Classes supliment works in Shadowdark and how that worked for you. I'm on the edge about Shadowdark even though it has good things I really only have room for 1 or 2 fantasy games.

@DoctorTopper if you are only going to run 1 or 2 fantasy TTRPGs I’d go with ShadowDark and Castles & Crusades.

@@DM_Bluddworth then I guess its a good thing my copy of BFRPG was so cheep. I guess its telling that for all the good it has I still haven't settled to play it after all this time. I think you are right about C&C and Shadowdark. I am also looking at "BREAK!!" but that would pretty much only be if my whole family agrees on that, so that will be easier for me to decide because of them.

I didnt realize the damage was so significantly different between the 2 game's. This is another reason i like both.

One of C&C strength's IMO is how easy it is to port in things like monsters from other systems. In prepping for an upcoming session, I took a version of a monster from the Dragonslayer RPG and merged it with one from C&C to make a version that is more what I was looking for.

I have 40 years worth of D&D monster books I can use for C&C, but I like to buy the books to support the Trolls, and the specific Aihrde monsters help with the unique feel if you base your game there.

I don't always like the higher number dies for monster hp, because the low end is always 1, so a 10d12 monster still might only have 13 hp, and yet be worth a ton of xp. I guess you can always just say it had 65 hp, or 80, or you could explain the low hp as being previously wounded or something, but 12d6 will be less swingy than 6d12. I guess then you'd have to adjust the attack bonus....

For monster HP I look at the range and roll a 1d6 to see how much they really have; 1-2 = 50%, 3-4 = 75-80%, 5-6 = 90-100% and considered the leader if in a group w/out a current boss leader noted (so in a random group of goblins, the 5 or 6 leads them).
This has made it quick for me for both BFRPG & C&C.
