I would love to see a breakdown of Jewel's foolish games
David Phelps. "O Holy Night". Live version with the Gaithers
Cindy Lou Who singing with her band the pretty reckless
Another Voiceplay, but this one is way different. This is a collaboration with say 20 different people during the pandemic. It is Just Sing from the movie Trolls, you will love it. Make sure you turn on the subtitles.
You can hear Adriana in their We're Good. And Frozen 2 and Good 4U as well as some short ones.
The one Eb1 he did was a subharmonic, which it was connected to the first note he sang. This is how it's done... he sang an A#1, then sank into subharmonic register a 5th lower with a slight pause. If you listen to me sing subharmonics, I do the same thing; there is no legato in between - there is a slight pause as the vocal cords fall into subharmonics (you cannot slide subharmonics).
I agree. Geoff has a few videos on his channel demonstrating how he does this, too. When you switch from chest to sub, it's kind of like a "break" in your voice, so it's very possible and actually normal to have that sudden octave drop - that's generally how people learn to get into sub range to begin with.
Isolated vocals show it was produced, not sung unbroken.
Right. So right. I do that too and i'm not a "singer" by any means.
Ahhhhh...the theater kids of the a cappella world. Always entertaining. Love how much fun they always have. And so excited to see what a Maggie/J None collab could be.
I love how much Voiceplay puts into the showmanship in their videos! On top of being musically talented as heck, they are never not super entertaining as well on top of it!
Couldn't have put it better! 🙂👍
Ohh Magg's. Always reacting to Geoffs lows but nothing on his high registers or the transitions. They are ALL so fantastic
What a great arrangement and performance. Loved the comedy and the harmonies. Fun to watch you react and add your flare. Thanks,
OH MY GOD IVE BEEN WANTING FOR YOU TO REACT TO THIS, BEST PRESENT EVER. You’re so fun and talented, your humor is amazing! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Hope to see more voiceplay!
Adriana's mom and Geoff's wife used to perform together and have remained good friends. That's why this teenager with an awesome voice was on their radar. They've recorded several minis with her, as well as full videos: Frozen 2 Medley, Good 4 U, and We're Good... which was Cesar's first collaboration with them. In Just Sing, she sings in Spanish.
Geoff also sings The Grinch Song in Peter Hollens Christmas Movie Theme Song Medley... dressed as Max the dog.
And she is just a teenager...with a lot of talent I might add. She's 16 or so.
The note you were having trouble finding is just an Ab1, and then he goes up to the Bb1...I don't know if it is because I'm sooo used to listen to bass singers but I could identify this note pretty effortlessly. Great reaction anyway.
I Love this one. So fun. Voiceplay always does a great job. Fun reaction Maggie!!!
This is probably my favorite of their Christmas songs. It's so good and so fun and it makes me feel so nostalgic for the old cartoon! Love your reaction! 😍🎄
The cut from the Eb2 to the Eb1 is because he's slipping into the subharmonic register. Not because they did it in two takes.
Not Lumière ( so far - totally see him do it), but Layne did Louis, the French Chef in Little Mermaid Medley. As far as i know you haven't reacted to that medley yet, Maggie. Worth checking out!
Adriana is a natural fit to work with Voiceplay.
I enjoy your aspect on your reaction to the variety of videos you do Maggie. I have been watching your videos since you started. I am a concert pianist, but it is always good to hear and see someone else's reactions to the ideas of groups of different singers. Also, don't give in to video reaction making and neglect your singing abilities. You have an awesome voice and great potential as a singer.
Poor Eli. Even when he collabs with a 15 year old girl, he's the shortest person in the group :)
11:38 I don't know if it was, but it most definitely could have been one take. When you switch from chest to subharmonics, it does that disconnection naturally.
Edit: Actually, listening again, It definitely was one take.
Thank you - that's what I thought. Same as his flip down to the final E1 in Oogie Boogie Man.
I definitely remember the cartoon, along with the Jim Carrey & young Taylor Momsen film 📽️ from 2000. Super awesome upload!👍😎 Happy holidays.🎄
Such a beautiful voice!
Thank you for your lovely comment! 🤗💟
That opening line about the triple decker sandwich is actually a line from the original version of the song.
That was fun! Just the thing to start off the festivities.
Great reaction
Fun fact Eli doing The Grinch voice and the role in the video it s play by …. The Grinch
You are such a good singer Maggie 😊😊
Thank you for your lovely comment! 🤗💟
@@maggiereneemusic your welcome and also you are going to go crazy 😝
the grinch was from universal studios voiceplay has connections
This is a great song and they all did a wonderful job singing it. I so love hearing Geoff's voice and hearing how low he can get.🤪😜
I like how Layne got a promotion from dog to waiter, who knows what his future holds.HA HA HA
The original of this song was sung by the same guy who was the voice of Tony the Tiger for 50 years.
Adriana was invited to do this on her 15th birthday.
She was invited to do Frozen II Medley first. This was the next year.
That was a bunch of fun! 🤪
i can't stop listening to this
That growl was an A#1 sub harmonic
It was more chest-fry. Geoff's subharmonics in what he can sing in chest range at are different... they have both a chest and subharmonic quality to them.
That was chest. Not subharmonics at all
I don't know if you've gotten to Home Free's version of this song which dropped just over a week ago. With a different scenario it has a different feel but it's just as funny and great. I like watching the two back to back to back a couple times a day.
11:30 If you'll watch his video on how he sings sub harmonics, you will see that the switch you hear can happen naturally.
You so nicest friend everytime
OK, you’ve got it. I thought you were just funny and a student of opera. You’re a performer!
LOL! Thanks!! See you Friday! 💟🤣😂😜
IMHO Small Town Titans does this song the best, just something about those BASS rifts in it that makes it so great. And their singer has like a 4 octave range.
You need to hear small town titans version of this song!
Extremely entertaining reaction! 😜
The e2-E1 sub was one take, when you slide into subharmonics it disconnects the notes
Adriana ought to be permanent. She was adorable.
I think she should be given a chance to graduate form high school and college before we go considering that.
i dont know why i was expecting Jim Carrey singing from the actual movie XD
If you wanna see her range check out their frozen 2 medley with her
Awesome as always Maggie. Please please do a reaction video of Lauren Paley the Stairwell Siren singing her solo cover Ave Maria. The full version. She has the most beautiful voice.
Gotta do ptx mr. Grinch too if you haven’t!
Rockapella had a great bass man back in the 90s (I'm not familiar with their current lineup). I really enjoyhis contribution to their cover of 'Zombie Jamboree.' Maybe you do that one for a Halloween vid.
Yes, they had Barry Carl.
I would like Maggie to react to the original by Thurl Ravenscroft
You should check out Small Town Titan's version of this song. Awesome and powerful!
Do the small town titans version for Christmas 🎄
Please check out EVA Cassidy live at blues alley somewhere over the rainbow, I would like your opinion on this super talented singer and arranger I cry.
Great rendition, but the original by Thurl Ravenscroft will always be my favorite
At 9:29 was a G1
None of those sites you found are the right Adriana Arellano, lol.
12:12 in. you have termites in your smile. The lip movement to the sound, don't match up.
Can ya do the grinch by nick nittoli
I prefer the one narrated by Boris Karlof.
That was sung by Thurl Ravencroft, who is one of Geoff's heroes. He also was the voice of Tony the Tiger and also sung the original version of the Headless Horseman song that Geoff covered on his own channel.
You’re talking more than the video
They are good, but Pentatonix version is better.
Have a listen to the Rockapella version sometime. It's like the grandfather of both.
We will have to agree to disagree.
Will definitely have to agree to disagree! I found Pentatonix's harmonies rather harsh and repetitive! With different versions by different artists tho', it's great we can all find someone we enjoy!
