The wendy house line caused such hilarity on set that they started using at as a metric for how funny lines were.
"How funny is this line?" "Well it's at least a wendy house."

That "what you got a Wendy house?" was an ad-lib by granddad, it wasnt in the script
It was in the script. The reason that line is so famous is because the audience response was WAY larger than they were anticipating, not because it was an ad lib. How would that even work? Lyndhurst clearly gives him a feed line that would make no sense if it wasn't a set-up for a joke.
They also had an in joke that when they made future episodes they would call a particularly funny line " A Wendy ".

Why did Rodney ask Del what he bought from the auction, surely he was still there when Del got the goblets, unless he left of course. Also when Del sat at the table with Rodney, Rodney would have mentioned right away that he had sold the engines - even shouted it out, I mean given the piss taking from Del - he would not have waited for Del to mention the engines first!
