I am not so sure about Tarantino; for example, why does he usually show ugly feet? This has become somewhat of a trademark of his, but it has also become a silly distraction. It detracts from your focus on important scenes in his movies; in fact, this trope is becoming quite stupid because it is a trope.
It certainly is. The only problem I had with it was the running time. It was forty five minutes and it should have been much longer. The animation was stunning and the music was excellent. The young woman was one of the most beautifully realized and drawn characters that I have ever seen. The sequence where he measures her feet for the shoes that he was making for her was a sweetly innocent, almost erotic experience to behold.
It's not really a fetish in this work because the young man was custom designing a pair of shoes for this woman. My Uncle was a cobbler in his spare time back in the 1960's and this was pretty much the way he created shoes for women.
@@philiphatfield-ev4kj In-setting, yes. On meta-level... Its hard to imagine fetishism has nothing to do with this scene. I am not complaining - its absolutely has a place in out live. Usually, many things, intentions and thoughts are entwined into everything we do. What you said, fetishism and just attempt to make a beautiful scene - I think, all had a place in its creation.
@@mauser98kar I agree; it's fetishism, but in an intimate, almost romantic way (though she was a little too old for him). Anime is chock full of fetishism. Studio Ghibli movies seem to be obsessed with depicting smoking and plates of food! Japanese animators do a superb job drawing feet and eyes, but they are not so hot with mouths. 'Your Name.' has pretty feet in it.
@@philiphatfield-ev4kj Well said. Though at some point fetish ascends so high it becomes an aesthetic, at which point it's even hard to call it a fetish. Ghibli's love for day-to-day is one such example. (Medusa has the best anime feet if you are willing to pause. Fight me!)

The worst part is the animation is absolutely amazing i know the scens where probably taken out of context, but if this is really foot fetish material, you don't deserve this amazing elevel of production.
This is an absolutely beautiful film. The man wants to become a shoemaker, that’s the context. Maybe the creators like feet, I don’t know. But it’s not by any means a film about a fetish.
@@nschuehlyDefinitely a beautiful film. Makoto Shinkai doesn’t seem the type to have such a fetish. Though he did provide that for many who are into it.

You're the one I've been looking for for so long 😂😁🤫
I sure hope you’ve got a compilation of all Makoto Shinkai’s films featuring every female character’s bare feet.
This is a fetish but if you are a foot artist and you need to ask to trace a woman’s foot you can ask
