    Detroit Lakes......back in the 80's we used to spend a week at Pelican Lake at a resort that is no longer a resort. It's on my bucket list to go back up there and hit Pelican/Cormorant lakes during the winter, both used to be fantastic multi species lakes. Used to catch HUGE bluegills on little Pelican on the east end of the lake.

    Good episode,but they usually share what type of structure or area they're working and why the fish are holding in that area...always good information to know.

    Mmmmm bluegill nuggets. Two more days and I go for pike. The day after I go for gills if the ice is good enough that far out. Where I fish there is a little ice up to 15 feet out. If I have 2 inches at 6 ft from shore in the foot of water than I will get a pike or two.

    I'm sure I could fish right next to you guys and I wouldn't get the fish you are catching. You have to have the "Right" touch on that rod to catch those Monster Blue Gills.

    Hey I'm a huge fan of yours and I was wondering what to use for ice fishing on my pond. The fish really are stubborn and will only take live bait what can I use that is inexpensive and no live?

    ever eat the blue gills?

    • @StormLaker
      @StormLaker 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Same here, last year I fished a lake in which the bite was slow, but the gills were HUGE. I was averaging one about every 10-15 minutes even with moving around the holes I had drilled. I didn't keep one fish that day. That area you guys are in gets hit pretty hard, used to go up there every summer with my grampa. Back in the 80's and early 90's we would get into some massive gills on some of those little lakes like that, or in smaller parts of much larger lakes in that area.

      No, the Polaris Wide Tracks seem to have incredible traction without the studs.
