Hiker Rescue in Big Dalton Wilderness Angeles National Forest GMR

On January 28th 2022 a hiker had to be rescued from the Lower Monroe Truck Trail above Glendora (GMR). After circling for about 20 minutes the hiker was located and lifted to safety. From there the helicopter landed in Big Dalton Wilderness and loaded the hiker into a waiting ambulance. Be safe out there!

West Fork Road is closed outside of weekends because Cogswell Dam is getting renovated, major repairs. I saw your inquiry on Twitter. :) Major heavy vehicles work along the road as the dam gets repaired so people needs to stay off, on weekends the work on the dam is suspended.
