But if anything, Abby has proven she is a fighter and is not ready to hang up the dance shoes. The new season of Dance Moms follows Abby as she rebuilds her dance company while battling the after-effects of cancer that has left her confined to a wheelchair. Abby is ready to get back to her life and do what she loves most…teaching students to dance! honestly i think she’s trying to act, that looks kinda like the pain face they make on stage when they are trying to bring the character to life. if you look at them at 1:42 they’re all making those faces. that is because they need to practice the dance and the faces as well. 😊

just imagine how more amazing this team could have been if abby played to each of their strengths instead of just comparing them all to maddie.
I truly believe that’s why some of her numbers lost. She wanted them to be Maddie instead of playing to their different strengths to make it look interesting and not boring.

Y’all do know it’s a tv show. Not everything on the show is the 100 percent truth. Things get over exaggerated and the moms admitted the producers made them fight. Remember they are under a contract they have to do what they are told. Only reason Kelly got out of it was cause of the fight between her and Abby when Abby brought kalani (which really was the producer idea)
why does everyone have to be like maddie? why cant they be themselves? they ALL are talented in their own ways
I think it was about perfect technique, musicality and the ability to pick up the choreography and adding something special. I disagree with that idea, but I am guessing that is what Abby wanted.
Then she should of have the girls more time like she gave Maddie. After class sessions were ALWAYS taken up. Then instead of calmly fixing the mess ups she would degrade and compare them to Maddie. That killed the passion and drive to impress when basically everything you do is wrong to the teacher. Abby also personally bullied some of those kids Paige, Brooke, Chole and Nia are good examples. Nia had to drop any other activities such as Karate and only focus on dance. Chole, Brooke and Paige were degraded at every turn for no reason. You can't really improve when the person that hates your guts won't even give you the time of day or help you get better.

@@moonwalkerangel7008 ehhhh, I think that’s why the concept exists though. Showbiz really does reflect the "just another number" ideology; that’s what directors want to see. They want performers with strong technique and stage presence who can pick up an act quickly and perform in sync with others. That’s less work for them. It’s just an ideology that Abby buys into, which would be fine if she was just another small dance coach aiming to prepare her kids for show business. But she’s NOT just another small dance coach, she’s big enough to have her own show. I really wish she used her fame privilege to make showbiz culture less toxic, instead of indoctrinating a bunch of fragile children into it in such a harsh way :(

the point that abby made saying the meaning behind this dance is based on the fact that “ if everyone was like maddie, everything would be perfect “ and not “ if everyone was like maddie, it would be boring, and you need to be yourself “ is mind blowing.
Chloe just looks so defeated even when Abby is praising her and it’s just so sad that Chloe has been put down so much that now positive reinforcement just doesn’t help her anymore. So sad

Basically, Abby wants everybody to be like Maddie. They don't have to, they can be themselves because that's what makes you unique. Everybody is unique and by being somebody else or acting like them so something good could happen to you, is just not acceptable. Be a better person, Abby.

Just another number was such a phenomenal number. When Maddie was dancing, she embodied the music and everyone else became background to her. No one else’s facial expressions changed. Absolutely phenomenal

Abby says everyones replacable but not once did Abby ever find anyone else like Brooke.
She got Kalani and Brynn which are amazing at lyrical, JoJo is amazing at jazz, but she never found a bendy acro dancer that could do what Brooke did.
Maddie is the only one showing emotion in her face...plus her movements are so much “more”-so much more fluid and powerful. She was always the best dancer from the ALDC

Nia would have been a perfect lead for this dance. She would have looked amazing & could have made a statement about the inequities that black people face in the dance industry.

The whole point of this dance was to make them all exactly the same so no one is different from the other, but Maddie still got a special part so it feels like it takes away from that point. It takes away the uniformity of one girl being like all the others.
