I found this channel and I was like "oh, fish!" And something bothered me. Your voice sounded extremely familiar and I couldn't put my thumb on it. And then I realized... Penny... Now I can only hear Penny geeking out about fish and I love it
Actually love the behind the scenes type video here. And I thought *I* was tired between two jobs and maintenance/caring for three dogs, a cat, 8 betta, 10 angels and 10 cherry barbs. Getting insight on how and what you do and how you do it is invaluable information and I appreciate that with all the things you do you're still able to share this and you're always so positive and full of energy even if you don't feel like it. It's inspiring. I used ich-x on the last koi boy betta (Ponyo) as soon as I noticed white spots and he's doing great now. Three days in there were no more spots, then I continued treatment for a week after that to make sure it was eradicated (hopefully). I did between 30-50% water change EVERY night during his treatment (5.5g). Also got my small bottle from aquarium coop preemptively in case I had issues, then went back and got the big bottle after he got sick. I'm a new keeper so if it worked for me barely knowing what I'm doing, I'm sure it'll do wonders for you. I'm sure you read it, but it does stain things blue FYI!
Hey, good job getting rid of ich! Thanks for the kind words, having two jobs blows. I juggled two full time jobs and 2 online college courses when I was 20 and hardly slept and wondered why I was getting the flu every two weeks. I'm happy to channel that energy into something happier nowadays!

Having kids that age is exhausting! I am seriously in awe of how much you accomplish with your time. WOW. I’m not sure if it’s a happy or unhappy thing for you that you are not going to move but at least you won’t ever have to fix up that bathroom again. That’s good...right? I have three boys. They are now 19 (almost 20 -it’s so weird), 17 and 14. The memories of when they were your kids’ ages are blurred because we were so busy and I was perpetually tired. It was a lot of fun though! Perhaps this reset of yours is good because it’s a chance to really focus on the parts of the “hobby” that you absolutely LOVE. Plus, since you have practice building and tearing down a fish room, you can improve your skills and style in ways you never dreamed of before. I feel slightly selfish in saying all this because we benefit from how you share and teach us with everything you do. I know I personally have learned a lot from you and your style of teaching!! Btw, your making snello video was hysterical! It was incredibly practical for me considering, ...well...my fridge and life is similar to yours. Yay! Advice I can really use! ;)

Hey Taylor! I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO IF IT WASN’T FOR YOU! On Monday, I accidentally burned my heater while doing a water change to my wild betta tank. I had to clean it out and restart again. I ordered the Hygger heater you recommend and I LOVE IT! It’s the best heater I have ever seen with everything you ever need on a heater! I would recommend it to anybody! Thanks to you, I won’t make this mistake again! Also, I love the comedy in your videos, (casually microwaving dirt)it always gives me a good laugh. Thanks!
Very fun video! I also get excited when we get new shipments of bloodworms for our tank. We got some a few weeks ago that were shaped like gumdrops instead of cubes and I think I loved it a little too much.

I love your chores vlogs. So relatable. The dubia colony situation is so real for me. I’m currently trying to find a better sysytem after keeping them in a big, pretty bio active tank didn’t work for me.

Awesome vlog :) I have one beta atm, 3 hermit crabs and a bunny and I always tell people that the hobby is the maintenance, you have to enjoy the process, or at least its about finding ways to enjoy the process. And light timers are the best :D

I just got a gorgeous male betta from my local pet store, he really was a gem, but I'm devastated because the driftwood I had in his tank was leaching ammonia like hell, and he died 😭 I thought it was just tannins after being in water for months but I was sadly mistaken.

I got Nox ich a while back, and it works pretty well for both ich and velvet. was a good deal too for how big the bottle is, definitely saves money compared to buying the little bottles of malachite green haha. i would definitely recommend getting the hikari brand sheets of blood worms too, you save soooooooooooo much money on those rather than buying the little packs of cubes, unless of course you have connection with the actual sellers of the product and get them at a super good price. the store i buy mine from gives me a 10% discount if i buy 10+ of them so i always buy in bulk, and buy the biggest sizes since that also saves money in the long run. the 16oz blood worms are like $19.99 cad, and i think the 32 oz of brine shrimp is $29.99 cad. not sure what that would be in usd, but buying one of those little packs of cubed worms is like $10 here. i personally find the quality not to be as good either, they're usually more thick/stiff and less flexible unlike hikari's sheets of worms. there's always room to try and save some money in this hobby lol Also that one worm culture lmao its so out of control xD

I usually keep my tanks at 80F - 83F to ward off ich!!! As for stress ich i usually turn off or dim the lights and buy extra hides for the betta/fish.

Ich-x is formalin, a liquid form of formaldehyde. Make sure you wear gloves when doing water change in the medicated tank.
The way you sort roaches is the same way we sort diamonds where I work - basically, just sifting plates with different sizes!
