But yeah, it'd be nice if they had more courses that focused on certain things like Character Design for example. Basically all they're offering right now is Animation History, Intro to Animation and Advanced Animation. That's if you choose to do the Traditional Animation track. Then there's also the Computer Animation Track so that's pretty neat. I'm not sure if you could do both or pick one. I'm hoping the former because I'm interested in computer animation as well.
Back to your question. Is it really all that bad? Well, I guess I can't answer that because I'll barely be taking Intro to Animation in the Fall or Winter. Hopefully I'm wrong though! Maybe I'll learn a lot from the courses being offered. There is some good news though. I spoke to an advisor a couple months ago and she said they were gonna try to add more animation courses next year. Look forward to it and I hope you enjoy your first year at CSULA. :)
Sorry you didn't get into Fullerton. I didn't get accepted either but I think I still would've gone to CSULA either way. Ha. Was CSULA your safety school? I should rephrase. My comment was poorly worded. What I meant to say is that the animation option looks pretty disappointing because there's not much to choose from. I haven't actually taken a course in animation yet. Maybe in the Fall or Winter. I have to check the catalog to see what's being offered in the Fall quarter.
I don't like that the instructor changed the expression of the father. The intent didn't seem to be to make him angry, the original sketch read as more frustrated, impatient, or tired. It had more appeal that way, since the emotion being conveyed was more relatable. Not everybody can connect with being THAT pissed off at a kid.
He draws so well. I really needed this. I have so much trouble designing characters these days. Nice one!

This was really helpful. I wish you taught at CSULA. I'm studying animation there and their animation program is pretty disappointing. :/
