Honestly what she did to him can actually scar someone for life, leaving someone suddenly can cause a lot of emotion going through your head and during that time you would degrade yourself, and you would get scared of finding another because in your head thinks that they're gonna leave you again, it makes someone have anxiety over relationships

That's what friends are for." It got really sad during December of last year, my coworker died, my brother's fiancé had to say goodbye to her father five days before Christmas, and a Vietnam War veteran that I knew died from a rare form of blood cancer caused by exposure to Agent Orange so we buried him at the National Cemetery of the Alleghany here for veterans who died at home.
I feel sorry for the MC rather than Aoba, being heart broken and left out without an answer is like a wisdom toothache.

He puts the divorce papers on the table, packs his stuff and moves to Canada with his childhood friend leaving Aoba crying. Aoba becomes depressed and highly regrets her actions.

Why do I get this feeling that she is going to pull some BS, and break his heart. Then he's going to end up apologizing, even though he did nothing wrong. It didn't take much to reason out how it was going to go. So yes, I only needed the title, the thumbnail, and part of one comment before I recognized the same formula. I'm not psychic, it's called an educated guess. This formula is not new. Look it up. I mean, what did you hope to accomplish? Try harder next time.
There are so lucky to have a friend like that they know that they're friend still in love with ex and decided to setting them up. Even Aoba is fault here for being selfish but it's important to have communication if you still love him about her condition and I'm glad she got a second chance.

Always communicate, specially on a scenario like this. That break up could potentially leave awful scars for life, resentment, guilt. For the story plot was good, but Naoki wasn't at fault, it was Aoba's entire fault, not fair.

I’ll admit she should’ve come clean and should’ve known that Naoki would’ve married her regardless if she could have children or not.

She told me that she couldn’t because she had never fully moved on from her ex. She had never shown any signs of this during our relationship, it broke me and instilled in me a deep distrust for women. Because of her it’s hard for me to make friends with women let alone have a relationship.
I mean, Aoba is in the wrong for not informing Naoki. But I can't understand how difficult it is to have that conversation. It just sounds painful. But it's a discussion to be had with a relationship that long term.
The other part: I, too, hate that it's nearly ingrained that any problems in the world are the man's fault because... they exist. It's infuriating to see men apologize for decisions made by women instead of women being made/held accountable. She owed him this explanation/truth and ran away when she needed to tell this. This alone would be why getting back together wouldn't be possible anymore in my eyes.

Barrenness is a very difficult subject for couples. Contrary to Naoki and Aoba, most find out about this only when trying to get pregnant (in vain), which is a drama; and without happy ending for most, unlike for the two protagonists in this story.
PS: IMO still no chemistry developing between both voice actors, which is a pity because this meaningful story cannot benefit. 🤔

Didn’t like it. So I’m going to rant.
These stories are getting so annoying now. So a 5 yr relationship thrown away because Aoba was so selfish and had no trust in Naoki-who she’s supposed to have loved and wanted to marry. Yet she didn’t tell him the issues she’s being dealing with and took it upon herself to end things cause it’s “best for him”. Then she pretty much forces her family and friends to lie for her. Naoki deserved answers yet literally got ghosted by everyone.
But Naoki isn’t much better himself too. Always apologizing for things that weren’t his fault, yet in the end forgives her so easily and still have a happy ending. Bull. I don’t know anyone that was in a long term relationship, have it suddenly end and NOT have trust issues, be hurt deeply, and be very wary about relationships.
I know letting go or losing that special love one is hard. But you can’t build a relationship if there is no trust and open communication.

This is why communication is paramount in any kind of relationship, professional, personal, and romantic. Good communication and trust are the foundations of any relationship. Without them, relationships fall apart.
Aoba should have told Naoki that it would have been near-impossible for her to get pregnant, instead of breaking up with him and blocking him from everything. He would have still been there to support her, as he did in the end.
Furthermore, there are always artificial means of getting pregnant. In-vitro fertilization is an option if you want to go the natural route. There's also surrogacy. It doesn't always have to be the natural way. Modern medicine has changed that.
But if there's no way of getting pregnant, period, there's always adoption if you're adamant about having children. There's plenty of children who are deserving of loving parents, yet end up in the foster system until they reach adulthood.
It blows my mind that people in these stories don't seem to get that there are plenty of options for having children if they can't conceive the natural way, or even conceive at all. And all it takes is talking about it with your spouse and doctor.

When she broke up with him after they both said that they wanted children, I suspected that she was barren was the reason. I also knew they'd get back together when she was at the singles party.
Further, I knew that they'd somehow manage to have a baby, but given the extent of her problems I thought they'd have to resort to in vitro fertilization or even surrogacy with Aoba's best friend as the surrogate.
I'm NOT saying that this story is predictable, but I've heard of a lot real life stories just like this, wherein the woman was willing to sacrifice her happiness with the man because he wanted children and she couldn't give him any. They've even made movies about this for TV. It's heart breaking for the couple because irl, it doesn't always work out for the pair like it did here.

Seeing some of the comments here, I'm kind of aghast that people are more bothered about Naoki apologizing even though he "did nothing wrong" than they are feeling sympathetic for the pain and suffering that Aoba went through. Like, c'mon. Naoki isn't apologizing because he did something wrong or because he thought it really was his fault. He was showing empathy and wishing he could do more to help. Kind of like how people say, "I'm sorry for your loss" when their friends lose a loved one. Not everything is about some...I dunno, weird male ego or pride ("Why should I say sorry when I didn't do anything wrong?"). And Naoki is not being a simp, he's being empathetic.
