Kodu Millet used to be poor man's staple diet in Eastern UP and Bihar called kodu instead of rice. Flex seeds too were eaten by poor so that they can work hard in fields. Now, it has become food for healthy and rich. In the rainy season due flooding vegitables were not available so people used to eat stored food or fried food.
