Torgya Festival at Tawang Monastery - North East India

Yearly , in January according to the Tibetan Buddhist calendar , the Torgya festival is held in Tawang ( Anurachal Pradesh_ close to the Tibet and Bhutan borders)
Many dances are performed by monks wearing various masks during this festival lasting three days. The main thema in these performances is the search of a better karma in life. Most of local people attending this festival are local Monpas
