I've probably listened to or watched this performance 100 times! Absolutely sensational!
The Tuba Player at the end! 🤯 Amazing Performance!!
I saw this live.
On the edge of my seat all the time.
No discussion! Derek Bourgeois is one of the great master of brass band repertoire... And what an absolute band was YBS. I feel sad that I born too late, to get a chance to write a piece for you. Of course, there are plenty of wonderful bands today, but I think if this YBS was still playing, he can be able to get new Europeans titles!
Thank you so much for this legacy!
I lost count how many times I’ve watched this ... sublime playing and above all direction
Still one of the best live performances I’ve heard ever
@@bandfordmusic Very true. None of the bands can get near this performance of Concerto Grosso. One of the great all time performances. Simply incredible.
Just incredible.
What a great performance 👏👏👏😊
One of the things that makes this stand out for me is the team work on display. Lots of encouraging nods and smiles around the band.
What a great band!
For me it is the energy behind all the notes played in this piece. It never stagnates, it is simply ALIVE all the way through.
I remember premiering this back in the late 70s. This really is making me very emotional listening to this so brilliantly played.
I love how David conducts the ending on this!!!
Absolutely love this again. Bourgeois to me was a genius and so loved brass bands and what they were and are capable of. It was a privilege to have played for him at the great Stanshawe Band many moons ago. This is playing of the highest calibre. X
Thankyou for sharing this Sheona. I think this is a band that only existed for a few years but will be remembered for many more. I'm glad the band survived and are going from strength to strength, but the YBS/King combination was something very special and something to savour.
What intensity amongst this band and the conductor, unbelievable
Love Bourgeois. Fantastic playing.
Amazing!!!
that moment at 6.05 when Peter takes the glasses off and turns into the Rep/Back Row cornets,... and smiles,... Marvellous stuff. Band where on the game here. Shona what's the thought that goes through the bands heads when the Flugel starts at 13:08 ? They must be the most nerve wrecking moments for any bands person.
Sublime! Simply Legendary!
legendary allready with dr. David King - the early 2000 like 2004 Glasgow and now 2003 was their decade and musical momentum ♫♪
Wow.
Sheona, which performance of this piece was the band's best, the 2002 or the 2003 performance at the European, care to share your opinion?
Hi, both had special moments to be honest so really difficult to choose!
❤🌈🍀💚👏 👍 😊 🎶🎵🎼🙏🏽🙌🌻
