My Dad was from Watten and my Grandad worked at Watten Mains
Do you know why the hamnavoe was berthed at stromness at the rear instead of the front.?
I'm afraid I don't. Sometimes she would berth stern first if there were difficulties with tide or strong wind but it wasn't particularly windy the day I travelled.
A lot fancier than the St Ola
