Cryofreeze. It's called cryofreeze. If you want to get rid of an NPC there are 2 ways to go about it. One is on-demand layer streaming (don't conflate with asset streaming which is also present and used by all open world games), it's used most of the time. It's used for entire layers so not just for NPCs. For example Skalitz goes through 4 or 5 states. Each state switch meaning one set of layers is unstreamed and another one is streamed in. This must happen during faders (loading, cutscene, dialog start, time skip, fast travel etc.). Unstreaming saves a lot of memory and some CPU cycles as most resources needed to run the NPC are released. But you also lose all references to the unstreamed entity and streaming takes some time. If you can't afford to lose the reference, or if the disposal is short lived, or if no fader is guaranteed to happen, or if you just feel like it you can use the other approach and that is cryofreeze. Frozen NPCs are teleported into the box. They are still full fledged NPCs eating up resources. But they are incapable of reacting to anything besides an "unfreeze" signal which wakes them up and teleports them wherever you need. Originally we only had the cryofreeze system so some situations developed earlier use it even though streaming would be the better option.

@@DDL4Blue Je to implementační dohoda. Technicky lze při/odstreamovávat kdykoliv, ale pokud to uděláš mimo fader, tak se hra na pár framů kousne, což je nežádoucí. Pročež je k dispozici noda IntermissionGate, která se otevře právě když se spustí jakýkoliv fader, a dokud se vykonává její podstrom, tak se fader dál drží aktivní. Streaming se tedy korentkně musí provádět právě pod takovu gejtou, anebo v rámci systémů, kde je zaručen běžící fader - např. cutsceneAutomaton.

I'd love you to do a story episode regarding some of the mysterious graves that otherwise have no explanation... like the skeleton of the flute playing conjoined twins, I've often wondered about their back story.

I know this is 3 years late but I figured out that when Talmberg is under Seige if you go to the very top of one of the towers you see Sir Radzig just sitting there.
I managed to glitch out of Skalitz recently and saw a couple of weird things. First Theresa was standing outside of Peshek's mill, I couldn't interact with her and she did absolutely nothing. Then all the refugees were in Rattay, which included Kunesh whose dialogue was the same as if he was still in Skalitz even though he was actually still in Skalitz as well. That makes me want to try glitching out again when Theresa arrives for the nails, just to see if she's in Skalitz and at the mill at the same time. I just need to glitch out again, which I can't seem to repeat.
I used Architect Mod to go into the Tower during Talmberg seige. Radzig alone is in the tower, you cant interact with him though. Only persons in the castle are a few baddies on the battlements and Radzig. no one else.
You’d think with a better engine developers wouldn’t have to use little tricks like this. We really need to go back to the basics and develop a better engine. Also, it’s not uncommon to see 3 or more guards standing in the same spot in Ledeshko for example. It makes for an illusion-breaking amalgam of characters like we saw in this cryofreeze box in the video.
