hi do u have 2019 Lexus LX 570 filter? I wander how many cabin filter does it have? does air con have another filter and cabin air intake another filter?
I just did mine. Skipped the lower white pins. Just removed tray and back cover. Then pulled the filter. Used this video as reference and realized I could skip a step or two lol. 40k miles on the filter and it looked 40k miles dirty.
If you have a fancier version of the F-150, like King Ranch, Platinum, and maybe Lariat, you'll need to remove the trim on top of the two 7mm bolts first. Using a trim removal tool works best for those.
Make sure you take off the arm on the right side and there are white clips underneath that you have to undo to get the housing to come off. Kind of a pain in the ass
What a pain.... Most of us (I assume) use our trucks for work and put tons of mileage on them. Where do they get off making it so difficult to change something like an air filter? It's almost like they want us to pay to change the filter? We're incredibly busy and using all this effort and time to change something that we would like to change on an annual basis just doesn't make any sense to me. 🤦
Removing the hinges lets the glovebox drop so you can get to the filter housing door. Purchase this filter at www.filterheads.com/i-651-aq1251-cabin-air-filter-particulate-media.html?ref=category:12
You did not say anything about the glovebox decelerator arm or the seperate trim on the upper tray. If you going to put out a video make sure its right. Ought to have you pay for damages
You have to be kidding. It was easy to replace the cabin filter on my old Silverado. Not so easy on my F-150. It's a poor design to involve all these steps. This is not the only stupid design flaw that I have found on my F-150.
Stupid Ford overengineering. Something that basic shouldn't be this complicated. I have a Chrysler minivan that requires 30s and no tools to change this same filter through the glove box.

Leave it to Ford to make something so complicated! Thank you for this video, you saved me a pile of money!
You're welcome!
I was just thinking the same thing Ford always has to make everything difficult, they drive me crazy
Sometimes I want to sit down with the engineers that design cars and trucks and just ask them "What were you thinking?"
Honda is worse have to cut
In what way is this complicated? Simple.
Thanks for this video. For everyone complaining about how overly complicated it is, that's why there's a video for how to do it!
Glad it helped!
As stated above no need to pull the white clips on the bottom of the glove box.
Thank you for informing us!

Awesome, thanks for doing that. My older fords were never equipped with cabin filters, I don't think.
Happy to help!

Thanks for the tips!
This almost reminds me of replacing the cabin air filter in a 2008 Volvo S40. What a nightmare!
I agree Volvos have a poor design.
Thanks for a great How-To video. Very well done.
You are welcome!

On the lariat you also have to remove the top wood grain piece to get to the 2 7mm screws

I removed the two 7mm bolts but I cannot get that tray to come out. Any suggestions?
The upper panel takes a little force to remove if it is the first time changing the filter.
@@filterheads Thank you. I'll give it another shot
Pull hard to get it loose.
Thank you for the video❤
You're welcome 😊

Yes, I agree it is a poor design.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you
You are so welcome!
You don’t have to pull the two white pins to lower the glovebox door.
Thanks for the tip! I'm passing this along to our filter team.

They could do a better job simplifying the process.
Why do the hinge on the glove box gotta come out.

Hi Daryl, I am sorry to hear you had a problem with your install. This cabin air filter installation is for the 2019 Ford F-150.

Da hell man. My toyota takes like a minute. Y do they make fords so difficult
Yeah Toyota has made it easy to change out the filters.
Nope, no 7mm on this truck😢
I would try a few sizes larger and smaller if you have a socket set.
Stupid Ford overengineering. Something that basic shouldn't be this complicated. I have a Chrysler minivan that requires 30s and no tools to change this same filter through the glove box.
I agree they can do a better job.
Needlessly complicated.
I agree, Ford's engineers need to do a better job.
