The ones I use the most are under the testing category, namely Testing -> Garagecoder -> Jpeg smooth and Testing -> Photocomix -> Photocomix smoothing.
Jpeg smooth does wonders when having a .jpg with noticable artifacts. It doesn't have many options, but it almost never lets me down.
Photocomix smoothing is really great at smoothing lines but not blurring them. Wonderful for linearts and cartoons. I also use it after upscaling images so the lines look a little less blocky. In case it got too blurry I too use the sharpening filter you showed in the video. This often allows me to scale images up to twice it's original size with next to no negative side effects.
Most of the time I put the Anisotropy slider up to 1 and play a little with the sharpness depending on the image.

+Konsument Thanks for sharing! This plugin really does a lot! I will definitely be taking a look at these smoothing methods, they sound very useful!

This was a great video. G'Mic documentation is basically non-existant, but the software can do so much stuff. It is a shame. Videos like this are much needed. Ever think about doing a followup?

Hello and thank you very much for your comment! I'm certainly open to the idea! Anything in particular you'd like me to cover?
Honestly my approach with this filter is to just experiment and see where it gets me.

@@NERDfirst anything useful for common retouching situations. Like object removal with their inpainting filters local contrast controls etc.. I saw your video on different gimp blending modes and that one was great as well. It gave enough information to offer guidance and save a lot of trial and error.
