I Tera-burned a Shadower for the 1st time ever, not knowing what to expect. After reaching 200, I can safely say this is one of the best and most fun classes I've played among all the classes!
Dedicated bossing skill in Assassinate, dedicated mobbing skills in Savage Blow and Boomerang Step, awesome map AOE skills with Sudden Raid and Shadow Veil, good defensive skills in Meso Guard and Shield Mastery, as well as other utility skills in Smoke Screen, Meso Explosion and Flip of Coin (super OP hyper). Not to mention many of the skills actually have properties that work together, make it even better. There are also a lot of damage and critical rate buffs for this class, which is really good. Like what you said, this class's versatility really makes it the Jack of all Trades.
Highly recommend anyone who is considering this class to go for it and try it out! You won't regret it!
MagicalFaith tips for reaching 200?
@@butterkingu There's no secret to getting to 200 besides putting in the time and effort to train. For people who are less funded in gear (like me), you just gotta put in the effort and take advantage of various EXP stuff as much as possible. Slow and steady pace will get you there. Do your research beforehand so you know which are the recommended places to train for your lvl range. Damage is king - do whatever you can (roll pot for % stat, starforce etc.) to buff your damage so that you can handle higher level maps, which translate to more EXP per mob.
Change channel until Lvl 10 Burning Field. Do Monster Parks daily, especially on Sundays - where they will reward you with 1.5x EXP coupons. Make use of Monster Park potions so you can hit harder and faster. Use Union/Legion coins to get 2X coupons if possible. Put your character pieces onto the EXP portion of the Union/Legion board if you have to. Enter Flame Wolf and Frito portals for extra EXP and handy rewards. Activate Runes whenever you can. Use the Mercedes Link Skill (+ additional EXP), Aran Link Skill (EXP bubbles every 50 combo have exponentially increased rewards), and Evan Link Skill (Runes last longer).
Sometimes training can get mundane or boring doing the same rotation in the map over and over again. I usually plug in my earpiece to listen to music and sing along as I train so that it would not be so bored.
Shadower main here too! Thanks for this epic and pretty well explained guide! Shadower has been always the "underdog thief" since we were for a long time the "non-crit thief" after that, Dual Blades appeared and were labeled as "flashier and stronger version" of us and as the name says, it has always been us lurking in the shadows of the rest of thieves, NL, NW or DB are more popular but in the end, Shadower, for me, has the best skills and since the revamp of RED we have been only getting better and better and although I missed Assaulter and BoT, after V update with Shadow Assault and Trick Blade, a part of my life as an old mapler and Shadower main got back. I can only say, I'll never regret chosing the Bandit line as my first and main class.
P.S. Also, WE ARE THE ONLY CLASS TO EQUIP(without anvils) THE BEST SECONDARY EQUIP LINE, THE KHANJAR SHIELDS
Hey LeWaffles, a month ago I was a 220 DB but then I switched over to Shadower. For the first week I hated shadower, but after learning the class and bossing with it, I grew to love the class. This video convinced me to become a Shadower main and im loving it now. Currently a 233 Shadower, reaching for the sky's with it. Thanks LeWaffle

After this video I Mained a shadower what I love about is that it’s not like a lumi or any other character that just comes and hits it’s like Strategy like what does dark sight invade for this boss so you know when to hit dark sight and I love that you have to craft your shield I had a blast getting my smith to lv 10 and making it takes me back to the old maple story when I first started and his 5th job skills are the best 😂🤷🏻♂️

based on my own analysis, I think 'critical growth' is made that way to make players spam instead of holding down "assassinate". Delayed hits allow more of your strike to be crit since "crit growth" is going up faster than your buttonsmash, this also allows your third body count to hit more crit lines. Most players want to make their crit 100 from other skills, stats and gear sets but I don't see the need for shadowers, crit is just rate, I think investing all on dmg is better imo. Shadowers are meant to have high crit numbers, I'd invest all on percentage based type dmg stats & ied instead of crit, maybe 30 to 40 base critstrike is good enough since flip of the coin gives 50 crit. They removed damage cap as well which made more sense in many aspects, not just my own opinion.

For the longest time I was told that Meso Explosion was impossible to do on gms due to the atk speed . Now your telling me I can just hold the buttons down together 😍😍😍

Is it a bug that why my smokescreen doesnt help me survive a lucid bomb? Ive seen other shadowers tanking thru the bomb.

How I wished I teraburned a shadower instead of my night walker. It's at 207 now but there's just something off about it that I don't quite like.... And this video is really making me think so 😆
But now I have a question... I actually have a lvl 150 dB. Should I continue to train it up to 200 and switchover to shad? Or change to shad now and train my way to greatness?
what is the macro part used for? i havent put any macro skills down yet for my shadower, but im pretty sure i should be using it? if anyone can help me with it itll be appreciated.
As far as I know the meaning of macro skills, its very vague.
Macro to some of us can mean the in-game macro skill linking system found in your skill window in the bottom left. This is often used with your buffs (even though we have pet buffs for this)
Following ^, there is also the Boomerang Stab > Coin flip macro. But since coin flip is becoming a passive toggle in Destiny, this is irrelevant.
What many people are maybe referring to is possibly macroing meso explosion so that when you pop any of your attacks, it will go off. I don't have any experience with this part, mostly because I manually press my meso explosion. This type of macro isnt something that is built into maplestory, but maybe built into a keyboard or a seperate program. I'm not sure.
Overall, Macro's aren't necessary if we're referring to the in-game macro list, at most you`ll just be using it to cast your buffs so that instead of pressing 3 buttons for 3 buffs, you press 1 button for 3 buffs.

I can’t tell the difference between the delay and the no delay in the meso cancel. What am I looking out for?
Your basically looking for your assassinate to cast fluently as if there was no meso explosion casts at all. So long as your doing that, your optimizing damage.
for some reason meso explosion just refuses to work for me. i even made a macro to test a precise timing of 2 keys pressed at the same time and it still just lags out... any ideas? im thinking im doomed because of my ping
So if im being honest I'm not 100% sure why is this the case but this is my hypothesis
A )Ping does take into account and the mesos need to drop asap for you to activate meso explosion early enough.
B )Keyboard is imcompatible with Rollovers, meaning it doesnt have the ability to handle several simultaneous keystrokes, according to a friend of mine who is in the engineering field, macros are still affected by your keyboard.
I tried this meso explosion cancel with 4 different keyboards. 2 that it worked with, and 2 it did not. Which is really awkward. Anyways. The 2 keyboards that it worked with were the Bluefinger Magic Wings M200 Keyboard and the Alienware X51. The 2 keyboards that it didnt work with were the Razer Ornata Chroma and the TtEsports Commander.
I'm leaning towards it being B because I'm aware that keyboards arent manufactured the same way. :( sorry to hear your having this problem

Chris hey Chris! Have u tried turning off sticky keys? I use to have the same issue w u. My keyboard is razer black widow and I manage to get it on via turning off sticky keys. My assassinate (ctrl) and ME is in (end) button.
My take is assisnate can be any of the following (ctrl,alt,shift) while ME sticks to any other keys. Try and let me know if this helps!

Just got into shadower yesterday. Damn, I never realized how cool this class is. You really do feel like an assassin thanks to Advanced dark sight. and the satisfaction from high damage one shot skills really synergizes well with the class theme. I had so many questions about this class's mechanics but this video was so thorough it answered all of them. The only thing i would have left to ask is regarding the shield mastery. Does equipping a dagger scabbard proc the shield mastery? Or should i focus on getting the deimos thief shield? which is the best in slot secondary?
Equipping a dagger scarbbard does proc shield mastery! The game doesnt check for a shield specifically i believe, rather it just checks if the slot is filled out. It's much more recommended that you have a deimos thief shield however, the recipe drops from Normal Cygnus, along with the deimos sage shield for mages and warrior shield, and you will be required to be a smither in order to craft it!
When you stated holding down CTRL and B for Assassinate and ME for no delay, what would happen if you tried to macro them together? Would ME go off twice as much?
If your talking about the in-game macro thats not possible, but for macroing on things like a razer keyboard for example, that still won't work. Meso explosion will be spammed too much and you`ll get delay, as far as many of my close shadower friends, most of us have to activate meso explosion manually by pressing the button, my way of weaving is unique to my keyboard i believe. And another player holds down assassinate and taps meso explosion on the side to weave. Most of these things you`ll just need to test on your own, as it is somewhat different for everyone.
You`ll know the weaving is correct when your character does "Assassinate > Meso Explosion > Assassinate Dunk" Repeat and you don't see any delay.

Shadower doesn't really need that much help with mobbing, currently I have 3 in Assassinate hypers and then Meso explosion Reinforce for dmg% and Enhance for more meso drops, but since we're getting a really good change in rise, i'm considering dropping my meso explosion enhance to put into boomerang stab extra strike.

I have a question about meso explosion assassinate combo, I'm having hard time trying to do it with high ping( playing from eu) is it possible to do with high ping?
High ping is unfortunately one of the many problems in any game and hampers gameplay. Unfortunately I don't have high ping so I can't confirm that it effects meso weaving. But logically it would. Nexon said they were looking into this problem but knowing them, it's gonna take a while

I have a question is the deimos shield better than scabbard as secondary?
deimos shadow shield is the "best in slot" secondary for shadowers, nothing beats it. The reason? It's scrollable, and starrable

@@happilicious Dragon Khanjar used to be the best in slot shield until the starforce update came in. After the starforce update, DKhan stayed as a 15 star item, where as the Level 130 Deimos Shadow Shield became a 20 star item. But DKhan still holds a special place in my heart because its best looking dagger. Also be warned that Deimos shadow shield is untradable permanently after equipping.

In lachelein, what's best place to grind, as shadower (obviously)?
There are 3 maps you can choose from essentially that are pretty nice for every class. Chicken Festival 2, Revelation place 3, and Nightmare Clock-tower 1F. Since Shadower is a pseudo mobility class that somewhat relies on Assaulter for advanced mobility, Chicken Festival 2 in my opinion is out of the question. Which leaves Revelation place 3 and Nightmare Clock-tower 1F. Both of these are very nice for Shadower. Nightmare clock-tower 1F has pretty good map layout with that hidden portal at the bottom of the map and Revelation place 3 has a tighter map and also hidden portals. For me, since I trained to 235 before I started looking into getting Frenzy service, I trained at Nightmare Clock-tower for it's base EXP being better. If you train when theres frenzy or kishin aronud though, i would recommend Revelation Place 3, Your Shadow Veil will help you out a major amount due to the size of this map. In conclusion it all comes down to preference. I can't tell you 100% which map is better because it also depends on how you play as a shadower. Good luck :D

I have solution for testing where you can do Meso Explosion + Assassinate on your keyboard. It has to do with your keyboard's rollover. Most older/cheaper have limited key rollover, but you can test your exact keys on this website. just try holding down multiple keys and read the display random.xem.us/rollover.html most mechanical keyboard will have n-key rollover, meaning you can hold any amount of keys and it will still send it, so that's the best solution imo.
Many shadowers along with myself have been testing alternate ways to do meso explosion + assassinate, and we learned about how to do it manually, so if players were to put effort in to manual weaving, you can produce the same outcome, even though it requires more effort.

Your Last point can be either in Assassinate, or Boomerang stab extra attack

Shadower or Nl ? Which one is better for 21k stat thief guys
They both have their perks. Shadowers have better steady damage, but suffers in a lot of things that Nightlords just do alot better at. At the 21k stat line you can't go wrong with either class. But at the higher stat margins I'm going to have to say Nightlords. Nightlords, when their 5th job skill storm of stars is active, are the hardest bursting class in the game entirely. Shadower might have really good steady damage but when it comes to Hard Lucid boss specifically, Nightlords are more reccomended, as that Part 3 bursting is a problem for many parties. Nightlords are also the more popular class for that reason but unfortunately dont have any invincibility frames, so it's very easy to die in boss fights. While Shads are more of a versatile and sustainable thief class in boss fights.

I am new 2019 and this class seems cool and i want to play it , is it worth ? i will try to finish my link 120 before putting them into shadower but what link is good on him if u dont mind list all thanks i am unfunded as well haha
The links that I use are as followed,
Illium, Demon Slayer, Demon Avenger, Angelic Buster, Kinesis, Ark, Cadena, Xenon, Luminous, Beast Tamer, Phantom, and Kanna.
But it's good to keep Mercedes, Aran and Evan if you plan to train, as these 3 will highly boost the exp you`ll be getting while training.
Where would u recommend for shadower to farm at lvl 230?
Cavern Lower Path in Arcana, or if you can't find a map I personally reccomend Deep in the Cavern - Lower Path 1. If you can 1 shot with meso explosion, you`ll have really good rates.

@@emonemo2704 Morass can work, but the maps are so big that its sort of inconvenient to mob efficiently on. If you don't have kishin / frenzy, morass can be an option, but if you do have kishin / frenzy it will be more efficient to take more smaller maps like CLP, where you can nuke the map and they'll respawn fast.
All players have something that makes them different in terms of range or playstyle, the best way for you to find out about this kind of stuff is to experiment it on your own. Battle statistic will help you with the number crunching if possible. Just run something like a 5 minute test under same conditions and see what happens

Elaborate, though it might be the issue of you having mesos spawn to late. also known as latency. though there might be another problem.

I tried doing sticky keys with assassinate on alt and almost every key other than the stickies with meso explosion but the second part of assassinate is delayed( the slamming down )
@@agraelng8878 80 ms should be manageable I think, hyper passives are 3 into assassinate for dmg and 3 into meso explosion, I go for dmg and enhanced. You don't need att speed +1. Your first inner ability line should be boss. As for your meso explosion problem, this is most likely cuz meso explosion is going off twice as often as it is needed to, check your keyboard settings and the repeat delay, also consider swapping to manually using meso explosion. It does require more effort, but we're getting a change that actually benefits players who manually weave

@@agraelng8878 If your having trouble one shotting with boomerang stab, then yes you can devote your points there for training, however if you dont have problems with boomerang stab, then putting more points there would change bstab from a 1 shot to 1 shot.
To understand manual way, you need to know what your meso explosion is doing. How I originally explained meso weaving in this video was that I told you to hold down 2 keys to weave. Since then, we've been experimenting with more ways to utilize meso explosion weaving, thus a friend of mine found the manual way. You litterally press your meso explosion button on your own to cast it at the correct time. The manual way to weave is to hold assassinate, and then on your triple strike, let go of assassinate, press meso explosion and immediately go back to holding assassinate till the next triple strike.
Step 1 : Hold Assassinate Down
Step 2 : Assassinate Triple Strike
Step 3 : Let go of Assassinate and press Meso Explosion
Step 4 : Immediately repress and hold assassinate down again
Step 5 : Repeat.
It's hard to get used to, but once you get fluent with it, its just as fast as auto weaving by holding down 2 keys. This way of weaving requires more effort, but the shadower veterans personally prefer to do this way, or atleast practice it, as we're getting a change to meso explosion and assassinate that will somewhat altar our dps string in the future.
Lastly, regarding your IA, because you don't have the resources to work with for now, you don't have to concern yourself with IA, its just that its recommended to go for boss damage, as it will give you the most bang for your buck. Majority of your dmg comes from assassinate, which has no cd, meso explosion, which also has no cd, and sonic blow, which is 5th job and is not effected by cd reset. At the end of the day you can mix and match how you like it, however the standard inner ability set up that many shads use is Boss Damage, Critical Rate, and Attack. But some have a different variation of this. For example I use Buff duration and %dmg on abnormal status for my 2nd and 3rd line, but most shads will always have a boss damage first line.

How do you get 100% crit?
Coin flip 5 stacks, decent sharp eyes from the V Matrix or equipment potential, Phantom link skill and a little bit in hyper stat crit should be enough, but you can also swap out the hyper stat crit for let's say, some areas on the legion grid or even a couple of legion chars that give crit rate. To know if your truly at 100% crit rate, use as many skills as you can and check your stat window to see if your crit rate changes. Shadowers specifically are one of the only classes that have a crit rate and crit damage that fluctuate between two numbers. You want to make sure for your crit rate that its lowest is 100% to make sure that you will always crit

Mobbing on 5th is not that bad, you got 10 sec cool down AOE, Massive Hyper AOE and 4 Dash that share the 60 sec cooldown
You not gonna see your dash skill downtime more then 30 sec if you know the right combination.
