I looked at the manual, website, youtube vids, etc. No where did it say anything about "making sure there was no audio line" (which I had plugged in the back of my turntable). I unplugged, and voila! You're a GENIUS! Thank you. I'm now playing my old Marvin Gaye and Average White Band albums. I'm in heaven! Cheers! Sash
Maybe a drive belt is old or dammaged. So it’s necessary to replace a belt. I have the same problem on my older turntable from the 80s. I replaced the cartridge, now I have to replace a belt still. By me it happens after cca. 20 minutes of using. But It’s clear that the belt from 80s is simply old and has to be replaced.
There might be dust on your needle, or it needs a break. Mine stopped working for a little bit but I dusted off the needle and left it alone for a bit and it's back to normal!
Why does my turn table make a low rapid clicking sound when I move the arm over but won't turn. I tried with my other turn table and the same thing happened.
That happened the same thing to me a month ago, but I had a Victrola 6 in 1 record player. Had it for 2 months and one day, I played a 45 rpm record. When I switched back to 33 rpm to play a different record, it stopped working. It was a defective piece of shit!!!
I don't have an aux cable plugged in but it's still not turning?! Did I somehow manage to break my record player without using it for the last few weeks 😶
I can not get my three CDs out of my Crosley because it doesn't open up. The tape player stopped a long time ago the turntable still spins...I think. Haven' touched it for awhile! The readio usually works but the volume doesn't go very high and is hard to adjust! Can someone help me with getting the CDs out of it so I can dispose of the darn thing? Thank you.
My Benjamin Miracord Elac 40H won't turn, but the motor underneath does turn. I don't want to order a new needle/stylis if the machine doesn't work? Impossible to find help in Hawaii ? I plugged the power cord into the wall outlet but don't know if it needs to be also plugged into the receiver to turn? It does NOT have a belt ;) but I know nothing about this stuff :( I really need help??

My hi fi system also does not working, when i move it like you it work a little bit and then stop,i try remove belt and put it again but again dont working. I thing the something else is unoperative. I will send it to master to help
is your turntable belt driven? watch crosley radio how to fix that problem.and if u look through its channel (its very short) see "how to replace your turntables belt" and you will enjoy rockin
Alexs321432 I broke the mechanisms that resets the arm. it plays the full album and resets the arm too?? Idk why, but it's working fully for me. I have a modern one so it may not work for an older one. It was a tube with a spring.
I can't find anyone here on Oahu who knows anything about "record players" so this machine is still sitting here :( I did notice on you-tube that the platter (plate that turns) may be "frozen" but I'm a senior and don't know anything about such things and almost afraid to try to use 3-1 oil and heat to remove the platter (think that's what it's called - it's the plate that turns - but I'll keep trying - but I sure would love to find someone who could help :(

Make sure there is no audio line jack plugged in the back as that will override or disable the turntable function.

I think the belt is broken or has fallen off.
Did you put your needle all the way to the right?
I've got two other record players that will not turn on

I disassembled mine and the mechanism is not engaging. I can do it manually and it works but not on it’s own
Your belt either broke or came off the pulley.
If u still have the problem 5+ years later, lol make sure the belt is on both thrusters. There should usually be two. One for moving the belt.
Means the weather is changing time to stock up on blinker fluid

The belt was off on mine, when it wouldn't turn and it clicked. Remove the plate and check the belt.

check the belt, probably dry rotted or it feel off the wheel
