I'm gonna guess Georgette was the parents' dog? Jenny didn't seem all that invested in her, but good lord you don't get that kind of personality without being treated like a goddess xD
That awkward moment when you realize you're singing this during your morning routine... Then decide you don't really care and keep singing regardless of who might hear.
My mom has never seen this movie in its entireity. She walked in on this song, recognized bette middler and got a good laugh. She hummed this song for weeks.
Girl, we've got work to do Pass me the paint and glue Perfect isn't easy but it's me When one knows the world is watching One does what one must Some minor adjustments darling Not for my vanity but for humanity Each little step a pose See, how the breeding shows Sometimes, it's too much for even me When all of the world says yes Then, who am I to say no? Don't ask a mutt to strut like a showgirl No, girl, you need a pro Not a flea or a flaw, take a peek at that paw La, da-da, dee, dee, da Perfection becomes me, n'est ce pas? Unrivaled, unruffled I'm beauty unleashed (Yeah) Jaws drop, hearts stop, so classic and classy We're not talkin' Lassie La, ah, ooh, aroo Ruff, ruff ruff ruff ruff Ruff-ruff-ruff-ruff-ruff-ruff-ruff-arow Though many covet my bone and bowl They're barkin' up the wrong tree You pretty pups all over the city I have your hearts and you have my pity Pretty is nice, but still, it's just pretty Perfect, my dear, is me
This bit was always my favourite bit in the film and to choose Bette Middler to do her voice and vocals was a great choice, I do believe I saw this film at the cinema.
All the likes are from Tito beacuse when he heard Georgette singing, his heart was beating rapidly which is a sign that he is crazy in love with her. XD
anditspaganpoetry I FREAKIN KNEW IT WAS BETTE MIDLER!!! lol I recognize the voice even though I was 8 yrs old then and 36 yrs now. Something's/sounds/memories just never leave your head!
I think this song missed a chance to be one of the great Disney songs. The melody is great but there’s never an actual hook. So it kinda is forgettable in the end.
@@carteranimationz2897This movie actually did not fail, it was still successful but not enough to beat Land Before Time. Great Mouse Detective and this film were enough to keep the lights on at Disney after basically everything after Jungle Book being a commercial failure barring Rescuers. Disney’s history between Jungle Book and Little Mermaid is fascinating.
Just in case, if Oliver and Company ever get a live action remake, which I think it should to be honest, I could choose Kristen Bell to voice Georgette. She did Princess Anna from Frozen.
Disney seems to only remake their successful films, this film was one of their failures like the others in the 80s era and they seem to want to forget about it because it’s never talked about.
The fact that Bette Midler voices georgette makes this character even more iconic than she already is
You should hear her sing “I Put a Spell on You.”
My mom will scream that song, and she doesn’t speak english lol
You can hear how much fun she is having singing this song
The UEUGH at the end clinches the song perfectly.
I'm gonna guess Georgette was the parents' dog? Jenny didn't seem all that invested in her, but good lord you don't get that kind of personality without being treated like a goddess xD
"Not for my vanity, but for humanity"
Most definitely!!
Me as a small kid- She's so full of herself
Me now as an insecure highschool kid- GIVE ME YOUR CONFIDENCE QUEEN

That awkward moment when you realize you're singing this during your morning routine... Then decide you don't really care and keep singing regardless of who might hear.
And Les Poissons when cooking seafood.
literally the most motivational song ever
I wish I would have known or even cared at the time that the poodle was Bette Midler. I would have appreciated her character in this even more.
My mom has never seen this movie in its entireity. She walked in on this song, recognized bette middler and got a good laugh. She hummed this song for weeks.

Jaws drop, hearts stop, so classic and classy
We're not talkin' Lassie
La, ah, ooh, aroo
Ruff, ruff ruff ruff ruff

They're barkin' up the wrong tree
You pretty pups all over the city
I have your hearts and you have my pity
Pretty is nice, but still, it's just pretty
Perfect, my dear, is me
Omg thank you sm!!! 🤌🏽😄🙈😄

I think this song missed a chance to be one of the great Disney songs. The melody is great but there’s never an actual hook. So it kinda is forgettable in the end.
It is a legendary song and is wine. ⚕️🌹⚕️
The movie failure itself played a part in why this song is forgettable because it’s a hit

NO BETTE MIDDLER ALL THE WAY!!!!
Disney seems to only remake their successful films, this film was one of their failures like the others in the 80s era and they seem to want to forget about it because it’s never talked about.
What is it with Disney and giving doggos fook-me eyes?
No questions asked
Damn… I still prefer Vikki Carr
Oh man I hate this song
Why?
I love her sudden "uh!" My favorite part. :3
