  • Republican Sen. John Kennedy is known for his sharp questions, his colorful quips and his willingness to work across party lines. But he's also made a name for himself in the classroom as Mr. Kennedy, occasionally teaching at a Louisiana school. It allows him to interact with a younger generation that's often disillusioned by politics. John Dickerson followed him in the classroom for a day and got his students' reaction to their teacher.

What's scary is the public schools in our country can't teach kids to read and write in 12 years....Sen Kennedy is right.

So the senator should talk about why that is!!!!!! Lack of funding.

@@rrickarr Nope. There's tons of money being thrown at it. But that doesn''t fix the issue of teachers who either can't or won't teach. And there's no recourse for that, just ask the union they're in.

So much negativity in the comments for such a positive story. There are lots of people doing great all across the world and it is not all for "publicity" or because they are "pretending to care". I am not personally close to Senator Kennedy so I do not know his motives for what he is doing; instead I will look at the good he is trying to do here and be inspired by that.

This is the same as a WWII German military person saying that when Hitler first arrived ont he scene, he should just temper his rhetoric and everything will be alright!

It’s not an “academic discussion”. The president is promoting white nationalism at the expense of American citizens which he is suppose to represent, and doesn’t. “It’s not a problem were going to solve” because the GOP (Gangsters Of the President) also benefit from the white nationalist vote. The Good Old Oppressors of People want to thank you for watching this commercial.
