      @@sandrajohnson9926 :). Yes I have a starter that I’ve been keeping for 3 years now. It’s a simple recipe, 100g starter, 400g water, 500g spelt flour, 15g salt. I’ve sort of adapted it over the last few years but started with a recipe I found online. I use organic spelt because my husband has a hard time with conventional wheat.

    So exciting seeing your ranunculus going in! Just got mine out under the low caterpillar tunnels and then the snow came and the temps dipped, typical Scottish spring weather! Can’t wait to see them. Great to see your spacing. I spaced mine roughly 9 inches but yours are closer to get the longer stems so might try that next time, thanks 😊 xx

    Totally random tip
    When you have them planted in solid trays like that use a plastic fork it's a plastic fork. Pops them right out without cutting through any of the roots and makes it so easy.

    • @YouCantEatTheGrass
      @YouCantEatTheGrass  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daffodils definitely bloom before tulips. But people are less excited about them, and it's almost a little too early for starting sales on the farm. It might be something to think about in the future though, if the flowers really take off.

    • @nicomyth
      @nicomyth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Replete and Bridal Crown Daffs are blooming at the same time as my tulips. So later daffodil varieties may time the same as Tulips. (You can also extend the time, if you refrigerate in bud stage for either tulips or daffodil.)

    • @YouCantEatTheGrass
      @YouCantEatTheGrass  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I give them a polish to keep the dust out of the freezer, but we don't really wash any of our veggies. Though, I recommend washing to others - my system is pretty used to my hands and dirt, but I don't want anyone else to get sick in case they have an immune system that would struggle
