Manila to Davao Road Trip

- This is the first leg of my road trip across the Philippines. Started from Manila all the way to Mindanao in Davao City - to as far as the remotest areas of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat.
The whole journey lasted for 22 days, taking a totally different routes on our way back home to Manila.

Hello the Boy who wandered. I enjoyed watching this video. It seems we both are afflicted with the same disease of Itchy feet. I did this same trip just this February. I was able to document it too. Watching your video brought back the happy feelings I felt on doing a long distance land travel. The San Juanico Bridge is the highlight of my journey. And those multiple red bridges going to Liloan are awesome right. The Philippines is a beautiful country. We are so lucky to be blessed with a tropical paradise. Thank you for your upload. Please post more videos on your future road trip ( after the lock down}. From a road trip brother. God bless.

Great road trip travel. What an awesome experienced. It was in January 2000 when myself and my siblings traveled by land from Laguna to Digos City, Davao Del Sur. It was also an amazing trip experienced too.

in the 90's we did something similar but a circumnavigation of luzon then flew to mindanao and circumnavigated that island in a car. today, almost 20 years in america and the first thing we do when we get home to the philippines, go on an epic trip from manila to northern luzon on the westside then south on the east side and drive all the way to mindanao... looking forward to it and your video gives us inspiration...

Actually the Mountain province is always on my bucket list to circumnavigate as well but the problem with us living outside the PH is time. @@TheWanderGuy when we did this in the early 90's the halsima (i think thats what it was called) was still being worked on. after bontoc (there was no gps during this time so we kind of missed the bend in the road and winded up in bontoc instead of sagada) we detoured back to sagada before heading the opposite direction to banaue this time bypassing bontoc. the road was literally still being bulldozed and took us about 6 hrs and then some (6 hrs to drive a 20kms stretch of road work) from bontoc to banaue.. lucky we had a 4wd with us at the time. im still looking for that picture (with a real film camera) that i took of myself sitting beside a sign that says "highest point in the philippine highway system".. from there we went further north to santa ana cagayan and took a boat to palaui island to look at a really old lighthouse that was in ruins.. from there we backtracked to cagayan mainland then went south on the east side.. it was quite a trip took us almost a month.... and this was way before the youtubers iphones drones and all that.....

Paul Midel wow! my next destination will be Sagada. What month did you go? 🙏🏻...try Manila to Davao and going further to Gensan...but you will be needing more days to complete the loop...and never go on the same routes on your way back. 😉
@@TheWanderGuy spent christmas till new year at sagada very cold! Spend 2 days in benguet then 3 days in sagada then a day in baguio. Btw do you really need a 4 wheel drive down south? I got an everest too but its only 4x2.
Paul Midel Absolutely nope! My cousins tried sedan cars on many occasions from Manila to Davao. Roads are actually better than most of the Manila’s hi-ways. When you pass by the Surigao-Butuan-Davao route, that’s probably one of the best roads I’ve ever driven in any provinces in the country. And just a bit of an info, the RoRo fare on the Dapitan (Dipolog) to Dumaguete route is double the price compare to the Surigao-Leyte fare. So I would say so that that route is a bit more expensive but you will pass by many great places like Dipolog, Dapitan City, Dumaguete, Negros Provinces, Bacolod, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Caticlan, Mindoro then finally Batangas.

Actually after returning sa Manila ng trip na ‘to nagpahinga lang ako ng 2 days then I took another road trip from Manila to Bolinao and back...next na gagawin ko ung Sagada though I’m a bit afraid kasi madami akong napapanuod na docu about it na most dangerous hi-way in the PH daw. 😬

Beautiful music and awesome scenery. Please relay to the folks there where that muddy road is located that they should form together and form a team of carabaos, perhaps 4 or 6 to pull vehicles which are stuck in the mud for a reasonable fee.
Manuel Moraleda Exactly what I did. We were stuck there for more than 4hours. In my desperation, I went to the nearest Barangay and asked about 10 men to help us pull the car out of the mud. I ended up paying them 300 each. 😂
I always dreamed of traveling from Davao to Baguio and back. Someday I will do this.

6:24 that place is Liloan Southern Leyte. Benit, San Ricardo is 45 -60 mins from Liloan. Southern Leyte has two RORO ports one is in Liloan and the other is in Benit, San Ricardo. Base on the port footage you boarded at Benit Port not Lipata Port.

Correction on your video at 6:35 min., that is the Liloan Bridge in Liloan Southern Leyte where you can see the Panaon Island in and not San Ricardo. But I did enjoy your video.
Hindi kayo nadaan sa Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (Enchanted River & Libuacan Cold Spring), Bislig City (Tinuy-An Falls), Davao Oriental (Aliwagwag Falls) before heading straight to Davao City proper. Nice video! Very inspiring!

From Sorsogon, we swing by and didn't take the route thru Pan-PH Hiway. Dadaan sana kami sa Bulusan Lake kaya nag Gubat, Sorsogon kami. Kaya lang sa kasamaang palad, we spent half of the day getting out of that muddy road. :D

Nihara Areb the port in Leyte is in Lipata. Tatawid tapos Sa next port in Lipata Surigao. It's a 1 and half to 2 hours sea travel. Both ports are well built.

Indomitable Spirit hello, I think kaya naman wala naman masyadong road na paakyat. Wag lang siguro overloaded. Basta ung recommended passenger at load lang ng wigo, kakayanin un. Matagal yung inabot ng papunta at pabalik ko kasi patigil tigil ako sa mga ibang lugar. Like i slept one night sa Quezon, Sorsogon, Calbayog, Tacloban, Surigao del Norte then 3 nights sa Siargao before heading to Davao. Then pabalik one night sa Dumaguete, Bacolod and 3 night sa Boracay. 🙏☺️All the best! Try it for once, it’s worth it.

kit m Sa Sorsogon, we took the road off to the Bulusan Lake kasi - sa may Gubat, Sorsogon leading to Barcelona and Sta. Magdalena tapos Matnog na labas. Hinde na sya part ng Maharlika Hiway. Though generally ung road was paved, may konting portion lang na under construction ng DPWH tapos sobrang steep and madulas. Nakaharang kasi ung van na abandoned and stuck din, dahil sa dulas we almost lost control of the break. 😬

From Sorsogon we took the route via Gubat e sablay si waze short cut nga pinadaanan sa amin pero putik naman na madulas ang daan. 😂

On Camera Media conservative estimate boss, mga 7 full tanks for back & forth. Add mo na lang ung hotel & food expenses. For RORO - same route back & forth (7500 pesos) if going by Dapitan-Dumaguete-Caticlan-Mindoro route (mga 12-15k ang single journey RORO) sa way na yan.

noeled nalla Ahh hinde na po. Mahal ang bayad sa RORO pa Siargao at saka typical mode of traspo sa Siargao ay mga motor lang at bicycles...or people are just walking along the road. May secured pay-parking sa port compound naman na fully guarded at gated so leaving it in Surigao while enjoying Siargao is worry-free. 😊

Yes madami din nagmo motor bro from Manila to Davao and vice versa. Nung nsa Davao kami one of the hotels we stayed in, may mga nakasabayan kami na nag tour din sila naka motor lang.
