52:07 Love the poetic Sunday school lessons!
"There's a false joy that comes to those who have thrown off the constraints of a holy God, and have created their own twisted paradise of self-absorbed liberation and indulgence.
There's a true joy that comes to those who have thrown themselves at the feet of a holy God, and have been re-created in a pure paradise of self-abandoned liberation and devotion to Him."

See, that's what I'm talking about! I love your way of explaining this text! I've been in limbo for a long time (old views) because I heard what He said when He said "This generation". I never could reconcile Revelation to be all future. So needless to say, ... I love you man! Thank you so much for doing this wonderful thing you do. Continued Blessings to you and yours. Peace.

Mr. Bruce, I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and hate to see it paused for the summer. You explain the book of Revelation so well. Now it actually makes sense to me. Thank you for taking your time to study and teach this beautiful book! 😊

Thank You Mr. Gore. I had to weep a lot today....because after listen to more and more of your series on you tube, I started to realized, how many unanswered questions in the bible and especially the book of the revelation now get biblical founded explanations . I must confess, some of my theology views which I had for many years are shaken to its core and basement . I hardly allow to share at the moment some of your views with others, because I don't know which consequences that will have...but I can't deny ,all of Your teaching I heard until now makes sense in the light of the bible and the truth. At least, what I know at the end, which combines us as Christians for sure...Christ has come for us all. He is the son of God. He died for us on the cross to save us. He was resurrected after three days. One day every one will stand before god and be asked what we did with this message of grace and our life........God bless.

Very excellent as always. Especially from 35:30 - 37:30. An encouraging word in a time that it seems like the whole word has turned its back on our Lord.

36:49 In Christianity, marriage is holy. It’s a contract between two souls. It’s sad to see churches today redefine marriage as between a man and a woman adopted from nonbelievers. Whoever uses this nonbeliever’s definition of marriage won’t be able to see God on his wedding day.
God love ALL humans, he loathes anti-humanity organizations (Romans 1:26-32) These organizations, such as Sodom, Nazi, CCP, drug cartels, human traffickers, organ harvesters, genocide performers, are the true meanings of “men abandoned their wives and committed shameful acts with other men.”
Don’t take Romans 1:26-27 out of context and use it to attack gay people. It has nothing to do with gays. Gay men won’t abandon their wives. They don’t have wives.
LGBTQ+ are humans too. Churches attack them are anti-humanity organizations too. Don’t be fooled by Satan’s teachings and explanations. He wants to turn churches into an anti-humanity organization for sure.

In chapter four of the Revelation, the voice tells John, "I will shew thee things which must be hereafter." Since most biblical scholars place the date that John received the Apocalypse during the last decade of the first century--when he is believed to be exiled on Patmos--it seems odd that the trumps are referring to the Roman sack of Jerusalem, which occurred twenty years before he received the vision, rather than some later series of events. I may have missed your explanation for this. If so, I apologize.

Excellent as always, Bruce. In your guesstimation, what do you think was Josephus’ opinion of Jesus Christ? It’s pretty clear that he believed Titus was meting out a just punishment of the Israelites, and I wonder if he was able to reconcile what this judgment was to bring.

    • @GoreBruce
      @GoreBruce  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Josephus does not have a lot to say about Jesus, although there is one well-known paragraph in which he appears to affirm that Jesus was the Messiah. That paragraph has been highly controversial, however, and its authenticity is doubtful to say the least.

Seems to me that I remember, there is another version (Syriac? I cannot remember-getting too old), that has the usual reference to Jesus, but it does not have the questionable and overly pro-Christian description. It still mentions the claim about Jesus, and Him being the Christ, and His followers being called Christians, but without the "edited" language.

Hello Bruce, thank you for these lectures. I am a fresh moody graduate. I entered as a premillenial dispensationalist, but I left a postmillenial covenentalist. Your videos went a long way in helping that along. Thank you.
Im confused however why the two witnesses remain dead in the streets for 3 1/2 days. I dont understand that part, why 3 1/2 days? You said they died when the Christians left after the first mini seige. But it was much longer than 3 1/2 days till the final seige came and fulfilled the prophecy.

Thanks for the feedback, and for a very good question! Almost all numbers in Revelation are used in a symbolic way, as in the church in Smyrna being persecuted '10 days,' the constant use of 'sevens,' the '144,000' of Revelation 7 and 14, etc. 3 1/2 is a broken seven, but is nevertheless a relatively small number. It says the witnesses were broken, but not completely. Before too long, the message of the witnesses was vindicated, as people soon began to recognize that they were not going to win against the Romans, and in fact, that the events unfolding were in fact God's judgment.

3 1/2 days they (law and prophets) they shouted for joy and avoid the judgement. AD 66 - AD 70. Yet, in AD70 they realized this is what Jesus predicted. Terror replaces the party atmosphere.

I think it could be valuable to point of Vespasian's prowess. He was a Hero of the invasion of Britain. He was well liked by Claudius, and hated by Aggrapina (possibly a plus to Nero) He was chosen directly by Nero to quell this rebellion, even though he had been in terrible trouble with Nero at the time. Vespasian had fallen asleep during one of Nero's concerts in Greece, and due to that, had been sent home with the threat of severe reprisal for embarrassing/insulting Nero that way. Nero had ordered another General to commit suicide for a smaller offense. That Nero had sent Vespasian instead of killing him, can also be seen as one reason Rome's response was so severe. Vespasian was known to be "old school" Roman through and through. He would spare no mercy, for attacking Rome, and he would be brutal to earn his way back into Nero's favor.
