You are a good teacher. You are soft spoken and very easy to follow. You go slow and easy making sure everyone knows what you are doing. Thanks again for the tutorial.
I never count chain stitches now+ this has saved me hours of irritation as previously I could count my chains ten times+ get ten different answers. You are a brilliant teacher+ you have a talent for knowing exactly where we are are most likely to have difficulty, explaining it patiently so that we avoid problems. The small hook plus fine yarn = delicate waffles equation, seems obvious now that you have explained it in this tuition + I'm really grateful to finally be able to make delicate waffles. Thanks Alison
I have followed lots of your tutorials and find them brilliant you explain the patterns so well and make following so very easy. Thank you so very much for your time.
Well, I think I've finally found a Waffle stitch that I can follow. I love the way you explain things. I knew you could take stitches out with the tail but I have never seen anyone show how to add stitches with the tail. I am going to start this blanket tomorrow with a thin Lilac yarn that I have. Thank you so much for explaining so well.
I too am using James c Brett in baby soft blue, it’s crocheting up lovely! I’m going to put a white boarder around to in the same yarn, Thank you Alison, your tutorials are amazing! X
Another great tutorial Allison thanks very much love how you explain so well everything you are doing, I get excited when I see you have a. new tutorial xxx
Such a pretty pattern Alison, thank you for teaching it and your tips also. You are a very busy woman for all the tutorials you do, thank you for all of them.
I’ve made a few of these blankets in different colors and using different types of yarn for fun. My favorite is to make a blanket using soft velvety yarn. You’re a great teacher. I like to see it close up when you are doing a stitch. I’m from the US and learned our double crochet is also called the treble crochet. Thank you!
Thanks for showing this technique, Alison. I love how it has a 3D effect. I plan to make some in different shades of purple for my 4 gorgeous granddaughter's. I was intending to make them tunics, but children grow out of their clothing so quickly and i much rather make something that will last. 🤗 You're a gem.
I have just finished making this lovely blanket I used King Cole’s DK Beaches wool and it looks gorgeous it’s a variegated wool (in a blue ) and it’s turned out perfect 😁 excellent tutorial thank you 👍🏻🧶😊
Thank you for this video! I was able to do 4 rows of this pattern while watching you. I really like the way the stich plays out and is different on each side--it's like having 2 blankets. I think I'll be using this stitch a lot!
You are so welcome! if you use thicker yarn you will get a bigger square thin yarn and a small hook gives small dainty squares but it was a bit harder on my hands and took a week and a bit to make.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel oh wow !! Do u have good soft grip crochet hooks ? Sometimes if u have different hooks it might be easier on ur hands.. I take a week sometimes to ..😊😊
I love textured stitches for blankets. This has come along just at the right time as my Daughter in law announced last week she is going to be a new mum. I fancied doing a Cocoon but most of patterns I've seen use bulky yarns. I'm a visual learner and wondered Alison, do you think this would work in the round. Thank you for all your hard work in producing clear tutorials. 😊
i dont know try googling it, but what i was thinking you could do your chain row and join your work into a round. Work 5 rows of UK double crochet then start the waffle. Once it's long enough for your cocoon finish with a few rows of double crochet. Then to make the bottom close, with a darning needle and double yarn weave yarn around the bottom and draw it in almost like the top of a hat, you can even add a pom pom this will be the foot end that will make a cocoon.
Well Alison you've done it again. To coin your phrase "It's so pretty." I absolutely love 💘 it. I'm making it in a variegated blue and it's starting to look brilliant. Thank you xxx
Thank you SO much Alison. This is amazing, and so easy to follow. I love that you give us tutorials with all types of yarn. Can't wait to try this! J:) x
I have looked at other tutorials for this waffle , and even tried doing the pattern , but botched it :( Your tutorial Alison does look like you have explained it really well. I’m doing the bunny ears blanket, and when I’ve finished it I’m going to give your tutorial for the waffle a go... thanks Alison
I've just used this fantastic tutorial to make a blanket. I'm ready to do the border now. Can I check, it's two dc into every stitch down the side and then only one into every stitch on the row side? And after the first round, is it just dc into every stitch from then on? Thank you!
Can you tell the amount of yarn is needed to complete. I wish we were given approximate amount needed. Thank you, I really love the patterns you share .
Love your work , you explain everything so well. My problem is my foundation chain is always to tight, have tried using a bigger hook but that doesn’t always work any suggestions would be good. Thank you for all your hard work .
Is the waffle stitch the same as the thermal st? And as for the border on this blue waffle blanket, even though the body is US terms couldn't the border be done in UK dc or US hdc? (1.5 sc).
baby double knitting or the yarn your using try another bigger hook. The small waffle works best in thin or very thin yarn. If you are in the UK the double knitting from home bargains is amazing.
hi I have started this with groups of 3 stitches but am confused as to how you have ended on 2 trebles in 2nd row as treble treble behind post ends mine on a behind post stitch. Hope this makes sense
Is it only blankets you do Alison I started watching your channel when you had done a few baby hats but ever since its only been blankets ?Dont get me wrong please ive used a few of your stitches on baby garments and did the crocodile blanket and it was stunning but I dont have the patience for larger projects and there is just so many blankets my baby girl needs please please could you do something for a 6 to 9 mounth old baby I will always watch your channel but can we have a wee change Please love yi x
Nette Stewart I’m the opposite I get too bored with fast and easy projects such as baby cardigans, hats, mitts etc lol. 🤭 I love this channel and that Alison started making more and more baby blanket patterns, especially the harder patterns, it’s a better sense of achievement for me when I finish them. 😊 There’s lots of youtube crochet channels that have little projects. Not sure if you already follow them but *crochet for babies* and *crafts and crochet* have a great mix of baby garments.
Lol I have contradicted myself I am now crocheting a cot blanket edged with bean stitch and it says Twinkle twinkle little star in bean stitch on it don't know how I will get on but I will keep at it
I just realised something. I watched your tutorial and decided to make a large blanket for a single bed. I was trying to use up yarn I had. I started in cream, this pattern eats up a lot of yarn. I switched to raspberry coloured yarn. I started the new co,our on the right side of my Work. 420sts and 2 rows in I realised I should have changed colour on the wrong side of my work, as it really shows the stitches. What I mean is it is not neat 😭😭😭😭
aww no, Pauline I have done that before too. I also did a king size corner to corner then realized 8 rows huge long rows were done with yarn with a different dye lot and when held up it was like a beacon but because it was dark blue I didn't notice while i was crocheting so i had to rip out around 5oog worth i was gutted..

This is such a pretty stitch, but I think it will take ages to finish a blanket with a thin hook and thin yarn haha.
it works quite quickly worth it though
This is very pretty. How much yarn is required to make this blanket?
depends on the size i had 500g for this and used 4 and a half balls at 100g each.
I've just used this fantastic tutorial to make a blanket. I'm ready to do the border now. Can I check, it's two dc into every stitch down the side and then only one into every stitch on the row side? And after the first round, is it just dc into every stitch from then on? Thank you!

I can't give approximate amount as I dont know how big you will make your blankets and everyone tensions are different.
Love your work , you explain everything so well. My problem is my foundation chain is always to tight, have tried using a bigger hook but that doesn’t always work any suggestions would be good. Thank you for all your hard work .
most of the time a bigger one full size bigger should work. if not try this th-cam.com/video/ddr9A8pBv1g/w-d-xo.html
Thank you will give it a go

Hi, I love this blanket. How much yarn did you use for a blanket that size please?
i used just a little over 4x 100g balls of DK (double knit) the yarn was from a UK shop Home Bargains at 99p per ball cheap but beautiful yarn
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel That's great because I have just bought 5 x 100g balls of a beautiful lilac DK that'll look perfect. Thank you x
Hi what are the multiples for this stitch and do I need to add more chains ?
Dear Alison , its the yarn size 3 ? And how many skeins do you need ? I live in the States so I have to use a different brand .. Thank you so much 😘
light worsted is a UK double knitting. any thin yarn will work 5 skeins will make this size
Thanks for the pattern, I have some Hobbii Mega ball yarn. Does anyone know if that’s enough yardage for a 30”x40”?
megga ball is usually 400g yes this will be enough I used 300g for this one
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel Excellent! Thank you for responding. ☺️
Bellissima
thanks
I want to make a matching towel and wash cloth but I'm not sure how exactly I would do it. Do u have any ideas 💡?
take the measurements from the towel size you want and do your chain to that width and make it as big as a towel and wash cloth you already have.
I am doing this blanket but it is as heavy and stiff as a waffle. Could hammer a nail in. What yarn should I use?
baby double knitting or the yarn your using try another bigger hook.
Hope this makes sense
i did 2 trebles to do the edge im sure i explain this had a built in border i will go and have a look at the video again. it's been a while
Hi, im doing the border of my blanket can you tell me how to do the corners thats where im stuck.
2 into the corner then chain then another 2 if that's to loose do 2 chain a lot of the time the corners need the person making it to make adjustments
Thank you
👍
Could you please say the letter as well as the number. What is a 3.5 hook????
i googled it a us E4

How much wool is needed for this blanket please?

How much yarn did you need?
I’m a bit confused with the border. It’s hard to see it. Did u put 2 stitches in each one only on one side. And one stitch in all the rest.
the bottom i put one in each stitch as it has the foundation chain and down the sides i did 2 as each section is wider
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel oh ok. Thank you very much. Love the pattern.
Do you crochet into the very first stitch of each row or do you skip a stitch?
skip as its a uk treble crochet the chain is the 1st stitch
This one is complicated for me lol 😂
Have faith in yourself Lexi, have your hook and yarn and crochet along with the tutorial. Pause the video when you need to. YOU CAN DO IT....
Que lo traduscan en español por favor gracias
